Diamond Heights apartment description
This cozy one bedroom apartment in on Beacon Street San Francisco, a quiet, residential street high in the hills of Diamond heights overlooking Noe valley and the Mission district. The apartment is the lower floor of a hip, 1920's, two-story farmhouse designed by my grandmother and built using recycled cobblestones from the old railway tracks that once ran down Market Street. It was the first house built on this hill and is still blessed with plenty of nature and just steps from the wild park Billy Goat Hill and scenic walks of Diamond Heights and the magnificent Glen Park. This unique property combines peace, quiet and nature with the convenience of being in the center of San Francisco. It has easy access to Hwy 280 and Silicone Valley and plenty of parking right in front. It is also within several blocks of many of the shuttles including Google, Apple and Yahoo!
A small, quirky apartment with 1950’s charm, this is the perfect retreat from the excitement of the big city and convenient to public transportation as well as parking. It comes fully furnished however we are also open to renting it unfurnished if you prefer for 6 months or longer. Go for a walk down the block along the crest of the mountain with the whole downtown San Francisco and Bay spread out before you. Stop for a latte or world class Thai, Italian or Mexican food, and fresh baked sourdough near by. Shopping center just blocks away. Safe, Gorgeous, fun Neighborhood!
The apartment has one small bedroom with a queen size bed and good size closet. The window in the bedroom is great for ventilation and some light but no view as it at the back of the house facing the retaining, coble stone wall. The double doors to the bedroom can be closed to create a very quiet, private room or opened to let in plenty of light from the living room, making it feel like a large studio apartment if you desire.
The living room and kitchen have large windows facing the front of the house and get lots of morning sun. The kitchen is small but bright and cheery as well as equipped with all the necessary tools to cook comfortably. There is high speed wireless internet throughout the apartment and the flat screen TV is connected to a Roku XD box with included Netflix account for streaming free movies or watching TV from the web and YouTube. Cable TV is available by request at an additional cost.
There is a full sized washer and dryer in the apartment, and the bathroom has a tub! The apartment also shares access to the deck with the upper, 3-bedroom apartment. This large wooden deck has sweeping views of the city and beyond and is filled with morning sun. While this is really ideal for 2 people as the apartment is quite cozy, the Living room has a large sofa which folds down into a comfortable full size bed for additional guests.
To comply with CA housing code, A one month minimum (32 nights) lease is required as well as gas and electric utilities transfered to the new tenant for the duration of the lease term.

Super Charming with a great view
Super Charming with a great view
This apartment is just as charming as it sounds. It's the perfect amount of space for two people. The apartment is small but it has just the right combo of furnture to make you feel at home. The view is stunning from Billy Goat Park. Athena and her family were super kind and very responsive. We were happy to discover the Noe Valley for the first time and it's now a favorite neighborhood of ours. We are already talking about another long weekend there. Since the apartment is old it is drafty, but there is a wall heater. I would recommend bringing socks though! We did have some noise at night as I think the upstairs neighbors had their own out of town visitors. Overall it was a wonderful property in a wonderful location. We hope we can come again!

Nice place to stay
Nice place to stay
Pros: The place is really quiet. My parents slept in the bedroom, farthest from the street, we got the living room futon, which is "almost" on the street. No problem with any noise. There's always a parking spot in front of the house, which is a really good thing to have if you're going to San Francisco. There are shops in walking distance, Safeway, coffee, Walgreen's... There was a nice walk down to Noe Valley where we hopped onto a street car that took us to Downtown for $2. The view of the city from a nearby park is unbelivable! (Not real) Cons: the place is small, but for this price in San Francisco, you'll be satisfied.

About the owner: Hi. I'm Athena. I grew up in the upper unit of this house with my 3 brothers, as did my father before me. We are an artistic, eclectic, musical family. This apartment on the ground floor was home to a close family friend and a refuge from the sometimes chaos we created above! I live in Italy half the year and travel a lot through my music, (I play Irish Fiddle) so I am renting the house while I'm away. We love San Francisco like crazy and are fortunate to be able to share this magical spot in the hills with you.
Why the Owner Chose Diamond Heights:
This is not the overcrowded, overpriced tourist San Francisco. It is everything I personally love about this city: The inspiring beauty, the gourmet everything, the easygoing joie de vivre!
The Unique Benefits at this Apartment:
Quiet little apartment with plenty of quirky charm. Billy Goat hill is less than a block away, this natural habitat is a rare find in the heart of SF. Glen Park has a fabulous Natural Grocery Store, with excellent California Wine and Produce. Get take-away from their deli for a delicious dinner or picnic. Take a stroll around the block. This hill is spectacular from all directions. See The Pacific, The Bay, and the mountains beyond! Glen Park Canyon is an amazing natural area. Rock Climbers love the bouldering! As we're almost in the center of San Francisco if you look on a map, we're convenient to many neighborhoods and have easy access to HWY 280 for trips down the coast, Silicon Valley, SFO airport or San Jose.
