ALIHI LANI. This small, 6 unit complex is a 'Real Gem', according to the Ultimate Kauai Guidebook. The oceanfront pool has been newly refurbished in 2011. The front landscaped area also has two gas grills and great lawn furniture.
OCEANFRONT. Our second floor location overlooks the oceanfront pool and is less than 50 yards from the pounding surf. Watch ocean life and spectacular sunsets from the 184 square foot covered lanai. Year-round you will see turtles and dolphins - and during whale season the show is right in front of you.
LOCATION. The Sheraton beach is located less than 5 minutes walk. There you can enjoy snorkeling, beach swimming, surf lessons, and sunbathing. Restaurants, groceries, and shopping are also within easy walking distance.
FLOOR PLAN. Our home has two true master suites, both with bathrooms directly accessible from the sleeping area. Bedrooms are air conditioned. The setup is ideal for two couples or a family of up to 6. Lanai, Kitchen, Dining, Living, and one Bedroom all have spectacular ocean views.
REMODELED. Most furnishing and finishes replaced and kitchen remodeled in Fall, 2012. Soaking tub, tile floors throughout living spaces, and new living room furniture added in Spring, 2014.
AMENITIES. Our home is equipped with everything you could possibly need to enjoy your vacation. It is luxuriously appointed with high quality linens and towels. Kauai-made soaps, shampoos, and lotion are provided. We also supply boogie boards, beach chairs and umbrella, and a cooler for your outings. For evenings in, we have HDTV, games, books, DVDs, and binoculars for whale/turtle watching. The kitchen is well stocked for preparing any type of meal.
Alihi Lani is now a 'NO SMOKING' property both inside the unit and in the common areas.

The Poipu area is the sunny side of the island of Kauai. There are several great beaches in the area, including the Sheraton/Kiahuna beach a 5 minute walk from our condo. We are also walkable to the two shopping centers - Kukuiula and Poipu - where many great restaurants and boutiques are located. A short drive and you can reach charter and tour boats for fishing, snorkeling, or diving. There are only 6 National Botanical Gardens in the U.S. and we are very close to two of them: the Allerton and McBryde Gardens. For touring, a bit longer drive and you can see the Grand Canyon of the West, Waimea Canyon, where there are some excellent hikes and views of the Na Pali Coast. Poipu is a terrific home base for viewing all of Kauai as most things are a few minutes away and even the farthest attractions are still less than an hour from us.

About the owner: Ever since we first visited Kauai prior to Hurricane Iniki, it has been our dream to own property and eventually retire from our hectic California lives to this idyllic island. My husband and I had our first vacation together in the Poipu area and have visited for several anniversaries since. We purchased Alihi Lani #5 so that we can eventually move to the island full-time. Meanwhile, it's yours and ours to enjoy part-time!
Why the Owner Chose Alihi Lani: We knew Alihi Lani was going to be our next home the first time we stayed. The Poipu area is such a great part of the island and the area near the Sheraton the best part of Poipu. With the ability to walk to shops, restaurants, and the beach, the location can't be beat. We love that #5 is on the second floor - makes the views even more spectacular and unobstructed. The floorplan is also great when we're alone or when we have another couple as guests.
The Unique Benefits at this Condo: As a small, 6 unit complex, you never feel crowded at Alihi Lani. The pool often is ours to enjoy alone and we never have that awful fight for lounge chairs. Also the pool is one of the few on island with excellent ocean views. But the 2nd floor lanai of #5 is by far our favorite place and why we purchased this property. With it's expansive views of sunsets and marine life, it's where we 'live' when we are visiting.
