ALIHI LANI. This small, 6 unit complex is a 'Real Gem', according to the Ultimate Kauai Guidebook. The oceanfront pool has been newly refurbished in 2011. The front landscaped area also has two gas grills and great lawn furniture.
OCEANFRONT. Our second floor location overlooks the oceanfront pool and is less than 50 yards from the pounding surf. Watch ocean life and spectacular sunsets from the 184 square foot covered lanai. Year-round you will see turtles and dolphins - and during whale season the show is right in front of you.
LOCATION. The Sheraton beach is located less than 5 minutes walk. There you can enjoy snorkeling, beach swimming, surf lessons, and sunbathing. Restaurants, groceries, and shopping are also within easy walking distance.
FLOOR PLAN. Our home has two true master suites, both with bathrooms directly accessible from the sleeping area. Bedrooms are air conditioned. The setup is ideal for two couples or a family of up to 6. Lanai, Kitchen, Dining, Living, and one Bedroom all have spectacular ocean views.
REMODELED. Many of the furnishings and finishes were replaced in September, 2012.
AMENITIES. Our home is equipped with everything you could possibly need to enjoy your vacation. It is luxuriously appointed with high quality linens and towels. Kauai-made soaps, shampoos, and lotion are provided. We also supply boogie boards, beach chairs and umbrella, cooler for your outings. For evenings in, there are games, books, DVD's, and binoculars for whale/turtle watching. The kitchen is well stocked for preparing any type of meal.
NEW OWNERSHIP. This property is newly owned and managed by us, but we have had other rentals in Poipu since 2005 and in California since 2000. This experience means we to know how to provide you a memorable vacation.

The Alihi Lani is the only place to stay in Poipu! We never wanted to leave the lanai where we watched the turtles, whales and breathtaking sunsets. The condo had everything we needed and more. The little touches made it special. The owners were fantastic to deal with. We love Kauai and when we return it will be to the Alihi Lani.Recommended for: Age 55+, tourists without a car, families with young children.

This is an exceptional rental. The kitchen is better equipped than my own kitchen. There are small upgrades throughout the property that you don't expect to see in a rental. Of course, I could sit on the lanai all day and look at the ocean. The property managers were more than accommodating. Such nice people!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, sightseeing.

I recently stayed at Alihi Lani #5 for a week with my mother and I highly recommend both the area and this condo. Alihi Lani #5 is a really beautiful condo, I was both surprised and pleased at how well appointed and clean it was. The beds were very comfortable, and kitchen had everything you could need, plus beach towels, chairs and assorted beach needs. The lanai has the most amazing view, and it was great to watch the sunset and relax with a drink. I'm an extremely particular person, and I was super impressed with this condo and how at home I felt here. Cynthia was also really easy to deal with, and was very prompt with her responses I can't wait to visit Alihi Lani #5 again!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

Stayed in this lovely two bedroom condo in an incredible location. Enjoyed falling asleep to the ocean every night and having coffee on the lanai every morning. Cynthia's attention to detail made our stay nothing short of wonderful. Have traveled to Kauai many times and stayed in several different condos; will definitely return to Alihi Lani if I get back to that island.Recommended for: Age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We were lucky enough to be the first occupants of Alihi Lani #5 after it was purchased and remodeled by the new owners, Cheryl and David. It totally exceeded our expectations! We have been to the islands on four other occasions and this condominium was far and away the nicest place we have stayed. It combines a great mix of style, comfort, location and amenities. There is just a ton of stuff that was great about the condo itself but the real highlight is the lanai overlooking the ocean. The Lanai... it's big, it's private and it's comfortable with a spectacular view! The building is on an angle to the coastline so each unit's lanai has privacy; there are no privacy walls or screens, just natural privacy. With both a bar-height table to eat at and watch sea turtles, whales, dolphins, surfers and fisherman plus a super comfy sitting area to relax and watch the sunset, have a cocktail or read a book, it was where we spent 95% of our time when we were "at home". The icing on the cake is a ceiling fan that creates great airflow regardless of the trade winds or temperature! We did not eat indoors even once, it was that nice on the lanai! Our choice to stay in a condo was to take advantage of having a kitchen, a quiet place to relax, and none of the busyness that comes with being on a large property. Alihi Lani has only six units, so when we went to the pool it was usually just us there (not to mention practically just out your door), parking was actually easy and convenient, and when we came across other guests on the property everyone was sharing the same great experiences we were and were happy and nice. It was a refreshing change from hotels or corporate-managed properties like Kiahuna Plantation. In the end, it was the little things that made the experience. We appreciated the guide books, boogie boards, coolers and beach chairs. An herb garden next to the barbecues was a nice surprise, plus a "well stocked kitchen" that really was fully stocked with everything to make any meal that came to mind. Like the decor, the kitchenware was tasteful and functional... and abundant. We don't watch TV so the flat screens in each bedroom and living room went unused but each room also had an iPod-ready clock radio so we were able to listen to our music and create a mood anywhere in the house. The linens were so soft and beds so comfortable like the rest of the furnishings, it truly felt like a home away from home. About the owner: Ever since we first visited Kauai prior to Hurricane Iniki, it has been our dream to own property and eventually retire from our hectic California lives to this idyllic island. My husband and I had our first vacation together in the Poipu area and have visited for several anniversaries since. We purchased Alihi Lani #5 so that we can eventually move to the island full-time. Meanwhile, it's yours and ours to enjoy part-time!
Why the Owner Chose Alihi Lani:
We knew Alihi Lani was going to be our next home the first time we stayed. The Poipu area is such a great part of the island and the area near the Sheraton the best part of Poipu. With the ability to walk to shops, restaurants, and the beach, the location can't be beat. We love the that #5 is on the second floor - makes the views even more spectacular and unobstructed. The floorplan is also great when we're alone or when we have another couple as guests.
The Unique Benefits at this Condo:
As a small, 6 unit complex, you never feel crowded at Alihi Lani. The pool often is ours to enjoy alone and we never have that awful fight for lounge chairs. Also the pool is one of the few on island with excellent ocean views. But the 2nd floor lanai of #5 is by far our favorite place and why we purchased this property. With it's expansive views of sunsets and marine life, it's where we 'live' when we are visiting.
