We stayed during the peak fall season and loved the view from the front porch. Only minutes from all the attractions of Maggie Valley. Be sure to visit the Ghost Town in the Sky and the Santa Land towards Cherokee. We don't have kids but both were adult friendly and quite enjoyable. The accommodations were comfortable and we loved the dark bedroom, could have slept for days!!Recommended for: Families with young children, pet owners, sightseeing, romantic getaway.
Owner response: This review is very typical of the opinions of the wonderful people that have enjoyed our "baby" - Heart of Maggie log home! We would encourage anyone else who has stayed with us to also write a review. Greg and Gina - owners

This is a wonderful, tastefully decorated log cabin located in a quiet neighborhood where you can seat and relax on the porch with your coffee and watch the morning fog lift from the valley and listen to the birds start the morning with a song. In this stressful, busy world it is so wonderful to find a place like the Heart of Maggie to unwind and get back to nature. Many thanks to Greg and Gina for letting us share in you wonderful cabin and enjoy life in the mountains. The Heart of Maggie is one of those places you can’t wait to get to and hate to leave. Thank you for a wonderful experience and we hope to be able to return again in the future.Recommended for: Families with young children, pet owners, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, sightseeing, age 55+, romantic getaway, people with disabilities, girls getaway.

Our stay at "Heart of Maggie" was everything it could have been. The cabin was clean and everything worked. The sleeping areas were comfortable. The TV is smaller than usual, but who wants to watch TV when the view is so nice! The WiFi access (a priority for our family) worked perfectly. The owners were very helpful and the price was reasonable. We went skiing at Cataloochee, which is just down the road, so convenient (although the ski area was extremely crowded, don't think we'll do that again). Asheville is only about 25 minutes away. This cabin is definitely a good choice if you want to stay in the Maggie Valley area.Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, sightseeing, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

My husband and I booked this cabin for our 1st anniversary weekend. We planned to go skiing and just get away to relax. We arrived around 8:30 at night on Friday and it was already dark out. The directions to the cabin were wrong (said the house was on Little Creek Road but was really on Little Creek Lane and that the last half mile of the road was gravel, it was paved all the way up to Little Creek). Needless to say we went half way up the mountain and ended up getting stuck in the mud. Finally got out and got turned around and found the cabin. Got in easily and the cabin was cozy. Started the fireplace after reading the directions and we sat down to enjoy when the fireplace went off. There's a temperature gauge on the fireplace that cuts it off after it gets to a certain temperature which takes about 3 minutes then no fire. Takes about 45 minutes to cool down enough to come back on. Then I went in to turn down the sheets in the bedroom to find a huge greasy looking stain on the bedsheets. Gross. So I stripped the sheets and put on some new ones from the closet. On the morning we left I was getting out of the shower around 9:15, went into the bedroom to change and noticed someone walking around outside. I got nervous and called for my husband only to hear someone start a leaf blower. We let it go even though we were surprised by the rudeness and continued packing up. Then at about 9:40, still 20 minutes to checkout, someone else pulled up and parked in the driveway, talked to the guy blowing the leaves, got out of the car, put all the cleaning supplies on the porch and then returned to their car to sit there until we left. I was completely taken off guard by the rudeness. We had to walk out to our car about 4 times to pack up and felt very hurried and invaded on. I was completely dissappointed by the service.Owner response: My husband and I are so disheartened with your bad experience. Although the rental packet's title is entitled with "Little Creek Lane", (the correct address) the content in the body of instructions in one sentence, does say Little Creek "Road" - this has been corrected, although, no one has ever had difficulty finding our cabin in the past. I agree that having a cleaning crew present during your departure is rude and intrusive, this too has been dealt with and I offer apology for the broach in etiquette. I have been assured this will not happen again. In addition, I have instructed our cleaning crew to disgard any bedding that my be substandard in any way, and to purchase new. Your first wedding anniversary should have been perfect, and I am so sad that our sweet cabin could not deliver it to you. Perhaps your second anniversary celebration will be so much more satifgying for you both, Greg and Gina - owners

Me, My wife , kiddo and parents had a very good time staying in the beautiful cabin. All amenities are as described. All photographs are exact. The beds are comfortable. Very good view in the morning. Fresh Air and Pin Drop Silence in the night. Safe locality. Close to the Blue Ridge Pkwy (What a scenic road) . We saw the Ellks. Smoky National Park is a 20 - 30 mins beautiful drive. Over all a very good location. Close to shops (5 Mins drive) but very secluded. Dont miss the Joes Pancakes. Over all - We enjoyed it to the full extent. Thanks for sharing your Cabin with us. First of all, there is not enough room for my review of this wonderful Maggie Valley escape! I spent the 4th of July here with my 3 girlfriends and the worst part of the weekend was that we had to leave! This is the most relaxing place that is in the Heart of God's Country! We woke up in the am to a breath-taking view of the valley as we enjoyed our coffee on the most wonderful rocking chairs made! After a hike or two and a long nap in our own rooms (and beds were great!!) there was a day we packed in the car and drove up the mountain to find a fun little (very freindly) resturant that had an amazing view of peace! Back down to Maggie we sipped on wine back on the wrap around deck as we grilled fresh fish we bought at a local market in Ashville! Taking a day to hit the sites of Ashville we enjoyed fun shopping at great little boutiques and found a wine bar after we hit the hotel that had the biggest fireplace I'd ever seen! After the day was done once again we found ourselves gathered on the wrap around deck playing cards not looking forward to leaving the next day! I highly recommend this wonderful cabin/home in Maggie Valley! I look forward to going back in the winter and then back next summer!! This is a true game changer!! Magical! The pictures are great... but don't come close to doing it justice! Enjoy!Recommended for: Families with young children, pet owners, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, sightseeing, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

We booked this cabin at the very last minute (like, the day before!) as a previously planned booking in Bryson City had to be unexpectedly cancelled by the owner, so a thousand thanks Greg for coming to our rescue! The cabin is in a great location and so comfy and cosy, with everything you could possibly need for a long weekend. Maggie Valley is great little spot, as is Waynesville, and you just have to have breakfast at Joey's Pancake House!! We drove for miles exploring the mountains and national park, and didn't even care when we got caught in a torrential downpour whilst out walking the dog - that's how chilled we were! All in all a pretty awesome weekend and hopefully we'll make it back again sometime soon. The Harrisons (and Bear, one very happy chocolate lab!).Recommended for: Pet owners, adventure seekers, sightseeing, age 55+, romantic getaway.

We wish our family's 2 night visit to "Heart of Maggie" could have been longer. The well-kept log cabin was spotless and equipped with all the amenities of home. Loved the porches on the front and back of the house. The view was spectacular and the cabin was centrally located in Maggie Valley, just as the name implies. This is a rental with personality plus! Our 2 1/2 year old granddaughter lovingly referred to it as "our cabin." The owners were very pleasant and accommodating. Thanks, Greg and Gina, for a memorable weekend.Recommended for: Families with young children, pet owners, sightseeing, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

My husband and I loved it here! The cabin was perfect: quiet, clean, and easily accessible. The town had many locally owned stores/restaurants instead of chains. It's close to the many activities the mountains provide. We hope to return!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0
