As other reviews stated ,Donald was so nice to work with. The home was very clean upon arrival. I wiped the kitchen counter with a paper towel, just in case dust had settled since last cleaning, and it was spotless! Master bedroom was beautiful and the bed was sooo comfortable. I had trouble climbing out of it a few mornings;-) Plenty of room to hang out in living area and the guys loved the pool table in the basement! They also enjoyed the bikes. The lake was frozen,but the boats were right down the street from the house. The kitchen had everything I needed to prepare Easter dinner. Look out for the giant stuffed pony on the bed in loft bedroom....I screamed when I opened that door on our 1st day! LOL My 21 yr old son and his buddy were already talking about coming back before we even left :-) We had a wonderful Easter getaway! Thank you Secrest's.....

Dirty home

This home is not as good as the descriptions sounds. The home needs a deep cleaning. The bathroom has mold and the cookware is heavily stained with food. The basement had water in it. There is no row boat or bikes to be used. I would recommend looking for another place.

Great location

We found this place last minute before the MLK holiday but Donald and his wife were accommodating in facilitating the booking process. We had family visiting from outside and they were looking forward to seeing snow, not only did we get snow the day we arrived but the log cabin location, decoration and comfort made the weekend a success. The cabin is clean and have everything you would need. Our children love the indian motive decorations and enjoyed watching movies from the large collection. The location is perfect, just minutes from camelback resort and the outlets!

I chose to lovely log home to spend a relaxing weekend and and to celebrate my birthday as well...The home is very comfy you'll feel right at home the moment you walk. My hubby and I slept in the bedroom on the 1st floor and the bed was extremely comfortable, I'd assume the other bedroom was as well because I didn't any complaints from my sister and her hubby. We also had a great time at the pool, however it does not open until 5pm. Everything was very neat and clean upon our arrival, there's a really nice bowling alley and lounge approx 10mins away (Summit Lanes) we also visited the outlets. As long as you have a vehicle you are very close to lots of activities and attractions. Overall this is a really good place to stay if your looking for a cozy getaway, I will definitely stay again. This is the second time we've stayed at Don's Cabin. He's very helpful and easy to work with. Lowest price around, especially compared to the size of the place. TONS of exciting things to do. He has two boats and there's a beach on the lake in the community. Right around the corner from Camelback mountain and the Premium outlets. We found awesome deals at the outlets and tried the "Tree top activities" at the mountain. We wouldn't stay anywhere else in the poconos!

Perfect, simple mountain getaway!!

Perfect place for our quick weekend getaway. Visited a local winery, pumpkin festival, brewery, did some outlet shopping... will definitely come back for Bushkill Falls. Didn't get a chance to take advantage but there was a pool table and several games in the basement and throughout the house. Owner was super helpful and easy to work with. Had a fabulous weekend! Great price too!!

We spent a great fall weekend at the "log home". The inside was clean, comfortable, and perfect for our needs. The community offered many activities and we were only a short drive to lots of the poconos best attractions.

Fun Vacation

The house was exceeded our expectations and was extremely clean! The kids loved going to the lake/beach eveyday where they enjoyed swimming, fishing and eating lunch. We were only minutes from Camel Beach which was a great time! The kitchen was well stocked for all of our cooking needs. The only downfall was that we were there during a heat wave and the cabin was extremely hot, even at night. Overall, we had a great vacation and would love to come back in the winter to enjoy all of the winter activities. I would recommend this this property to families as well as couples for a nice getaway. Thanks Donald!

We enjoyed our stay at this home! It met our needs and was close to everything we wanted to do. This is a great place to stay for a getaway and provides plenty of space. Out 2 teenage boys loved it. A little warm though. Couldn't get air conditioning to work, but a good cross breeze when windows were open.

Wonderful spot for multi-generation family activities. Everyone in our group from the 4-year-old to the 58-year-old was happy with the spacious surroundings. Loved working with the owners, very caring and cooperative.

We stayed at this log home over the winter break so that we could ski at Camelback. What a blast! The home is close to anything you would want to do in the Pocono Mountains. It is right down the road from Camelback Mountain and we were able to get our daughter to her 8:30am ski lesson in minutes. The rooms are spacious and the home has a great feeling of rustic charm. We just brought some food and enjoyed the quality time with friends and family. We also enjoyed the Community Pool and Bar & Grill. We are so pleased that we are considering returning so that we can enjoy the summer months next time.

This house was absolutely perfect for our little getaway!! The kids had an awesome time staying here, there was plenty of games and movies to occupy them each night. It was only about 10-15 minutes from Camelback which was perfect. Feels like home the moment you walk through the door!!

The place was huge and put together well. I have to admit I was almost a skeptic with their generosity. The rate was the cheapest I've seen- even while considering cabins much smaller with less amenities. The ad is so well written with more positive reviews than anyone on any vacation site I've found. I was late sending my money, I changed my dates, and I almost canceled for personal reasons...and they were patient through the entire process. I'm definitely glad I went. I would recommend this place to everyone!

Fantastic Stay at the Log Cabin

After a day of skiing and snowboarding, my friends and I arrived at the log cabin. Warm and cozy, it was exactly what we needed. The beds were very comfortable, the kitchen was well stocked, so we could prepare food with groceries we had bought. And there were games in the closet upstairs, we had a great time. It felt just like home. Would love to come next year. Thanks Donald!!! =)

House is reasonably priced. It is conveniently located to Camel Back Ski Area about 15 minutes away. There is a community pool but it opens during limited hours in the evenings only. If you are careful and keep the house clean, no cleaning fee is charged; I think it is a good idea. The property is well maintained and clean. Good instructions were posted throughout the house. The house was warm with the temperature 20 degrees outside. If CamelBack is crowded, there are alternatives at Big Boulder or Jack Frost which we used. On Christmas day there were more people buying tickets at the base than on ski slope at Cameback.

My family and I spend Thanksgiving weekend at the Log cabin and we had such a wonderful time. This is our second time staying at the cabin because it is so welcoming, spacious, clean and equipped with everything you could want in a home. The kids especially loved this cabin because of the pool table in the basement. They were never bored but always sad when time to leave. Definitely coming back again next summer. 7 ladies stayed in this log home for an early start on holiday shopping and partying. It is a short drive to some great restaurants and shopping. The house was very clean and cozy, and was stocked well with all the essentials, we brought the food and had a great weekend. Will definiitely stay again next year!

All the Comforts of a Home Away from Home : )

The log cabin was located in a very quiet community and driving to the various activities that we had planned was very easy. We were very comfortable in the Secrest's home. The sofa is extra soft and I guess we spend a lot of time hanging out in the living room! The Secrest's are very hospitable and responded to many of my questions about local activities, etc. We ended up going to Camelback for Mountain Segway hiking, horseback riding at Daisy Field farm, and whitewater rafting with Whitewater Rafting Adventures. We recommend these activities to all, as we had tremendous fun. The tour guides were informative and made the excursions more fun. If you are looking for a home that is comfortable, not necessarily modern, this log cabin is for you.

A perfect stay

This cabin is excellent, we stayed here for five days four nights and at the end we didn't want to leave. It is equipped with everything you need you don't have to bring anything but your clothes and food. The room are very spacious and the bed are extremely comfortable. Very clean and relax atmosphere. We had the most perfect getaway. It was very peaceful and in a beautiful location. Everthing within a reasonable distant, and there are so much to do. We were never bored. I will most certainly rent this cabin again.

We had a great stay at your log cabin. The kids especially loved the lake beach. The house was clean and equiped with everything you need to stay and cook all our own meals. We loved eating out on the screened in porch. The kids also loved going for walks to see all the deer and bunnies. We had a nice week.

This place was more than i expected. Although our intention was to go snowboarding at camelback the rain deterred us from doing so. But that didn't stop us from having a good time. With a closet full of board games, cable TV with an amazing sound system, DVD player, a pool table downstairs, and an Olympic size swimming pool. There was more than enough to keep us entertained. When we got done doing all that there was still shopping at the outlets which is literally minutes away. The rooms are amazingly spacious and there are enough mattresses to accommodate everyone....3 stand alone beds, 1 bunk-bed, and a single mattress to top it off. If your staying here be ready to cook cause the kitchen is big and they have enough plates and silverware to serve the masses. The only thing i would recommend is bringing a knife to chop veggies and cut meat. The pictures describe the home fairly accurately, but even still its better when you see it in person. I can only imagine this place being even more fun in the summers!!

My friends and I spend New Years weekend at the cabin and absolutely loved it. It was a very cold weekend with high winds so we spent the entire weekend inside. The cabin stayed very warm despite the rough weather. We had 3 adult couples plus one single and were accommodated well. Having the towels and sheets provided was great too; all we needed to bring were our groceries. We would definitely choose this place again - and would love to see the scenery in warmer weather too!

Hi Donald, My fianace and I had a wonderful time in your log cabin. Our Thanksgiving was very relaxing. Your cabin is very cozy and house warming. We really felt like we were home. It is very peaceful and quite. We were greeted with 5 deers early in the morning. It is amazing how the deers just go on your property like nothing. Everything is close by to get to. Memorial Day weekend holds many special memories for my family at this log cabin - amazing, spacious, clean well-stocked. Lots of fun activities to do, only a short distance away. Thank you Donald and Kathy for your kindness and hospitality.(the garbage disposal fee should be included in the total fee.) Note to future vacationers - leave a gift of used books in library, or some groceries in the pantry, someone did it for you. This is a place I would definitely re-visit.

My family stayed here on Easter weekend and boy did we have a great time. My kids really enjoyed the bicycles that was provided and so many sizes, there was one for everyone. The house itself was amazing, so spacious and equiped with everything you could possibly need. There was so much sleeping accommodation everyone couldn't decide where to sleep. My family really enjoyed seeing so many deers around, something we dont see in Queens. The club house was absolutely perfect, with its big pool,my kids simply couldn't get enough off. I would say this was the perfet house for our get away,my family had a wonderful time and we will definately come back again in the future.

My husband is a Pastor and life gets very hectic; we needed a family getaway - badly. We have three sons, 21, 19 and 12 so hotel rooms don't work very well anymore. We found this lob cabin on line - called the owner; what a wonderful man to work with - the place was exactly the way it is described. Lots of room, lots of activities and beautiful scenery. We had a wonderful time and would definitely go back another time. Highly recommended for anyone looking to have a great time. Thank you

I stayed here in the Fall with 4 teenagers. Even though it was too cold to enjoy the beautiful lake we all had a wonderful weekend. The cabin was charming and cozy. There is so much to see and do nearby, no one was bored. The cabin is well stocked with games and videos, and the master bedroom is decorated so romantically I felt like I was in a bed and breakfast.

We stayed there July 2007 and had a wonderful time. Loved the house and waking up to find deer sitting in the front yard. This home is a perfect mountain getaway. Clean and well maintained. The owners were a pleasure to deal with. I would rent again if in the area.

We enjoyed our stay in the Poconos the last weekend in September!! We were greeted by 4 deer in the driveway when we arrived, and we LOVED the house. The weather was BEAUTIFUL and the children loved canoeing on the lake. It is a GREAT location with so many fun activities, stores, restaurants and places to visit only a short distance from the house. The house was perfect: many movies, games, plenty of towels, sheets and blankets,clean and cozy, has a great layout- plenty of room to spread out if you'd like too, nice deck and we enjoyed playing pool in the basement. The whole family had a GREAT time and we can't wait to return!!!

We stayed here for the 1st week in August, and as a mom with 2 children under the age of 4, this was a wonderful vacation! The cabin is spacious, had everything to make our stay as convenient and comfortable as possible, and was very clean. We spent every day at the beach within 1 mile from the cabin and there were plenty of play areas to exhaust the kids! Great community setting for adults too with the restaurant/bar a two minute drive away. We will definitely be coming back in the future!!!

We visited during race week in June and had an absolutely wonderful stay at the cabin. Everything you need to feel completely at home, very comfortable!! We had 4 adults and two teenagers and we had plenty of space to spread out - it was a great time. Thank you!

My wife and I stayed at the cabin with friends of ours. The house had everything we needed for a fun and comfortable weekend. We grilled great food and really enjoyed the quiet area. There were enough bikes for all four of us to take a spin around the lake. We had a great time. I would reccomend to anyone looking to get away from the hustle and bustle.

My boyfriend and I went up to the cabin with another couple for President's weekend. When we arrived at the cabin we were surprised at accomodating it was. Everything you need to feel at home and we slept great on the comfortable bed! The area was very relaxing and scenic, even spotting large buck in the yard! It was also closer to Camelback than we imagined. We were also close enough to the fun college town of Stroudsberg to enjoy the nightlife. We plan on making the cabin an annual event. I would definately recommend to both families and friends.

My friends and I stayed here for New Years weekend starting December 30, 2006 and leaving January 2, 2007. The home was beautiful, very cozy, and providing all the amenities needed to have a carefree relaxing weekend. The group of people at the home ranged from 21 - 28 and while all other homeowners were reluctant to accomodate us, these homeowners were very welcoming. The homeowners, are very professional and a pleasure to speak with. They are genuinly interested in assuring that their guests have a good time. The home itself was greatly situated, providing not only privacy but a convenient distance away from Camelback skiing and other entertainment in the area. I would definetly recommend Donald and his wife as the people to rent from for your next Pocno's getaway. I personally look forward to staying in their beautiful log cabin home again in the future. Thanks again guys!

This cabin provides a great getaway. The owners really thought everything out. The board games, movies and surround sound were much needed and the access to the boats was icing on the cake.

We had a short summer stay at the Secrest's place in the Poconos. For a family with several children of all different ages, this was a perfect vacation. We normally rent 2 hotels room. Even when they are suites, we are cramped. Here we had an entire house to ourselves with all the amenities, including a rowboat and canoe to use on a quiet lake just 2 blocks away, bikes for the kids, etc...

My family wanted a restful Presidents day weekend away. OUr friends wanted to join us. Four adults, 4 kids aged 5-6 and one infant had a great stay. The kids loved the indoor pool, the movies, the large screen television, and being able to all sleep in one room. The adults loved the kitchen so we did not have to eat out. The Secrest's are helpful people, who are extremely wonderful to deal with. The adults had a great time playing poker and drinking wine when the kids went to sleep. It was a great weekend, one we all intend to repeat.

My family and I stayed here for a full week in early December 2005 and were very impressed with the house. It had everything you would look for in an "extended stay" situation. The proximity to anything and everything of relevance and interest combined with the tranquility and hominess of the location were just what we needed to feel like we had "come home" and could relax. I would also like to say that the owners are very pleasant to work with and extended us every courtesy as did the neighbors. I would definitely recommend this property to anyone wishing to stay in the area.

Our stay in the cabin ealier this month was a very pleasant one. The home was perfect, it had everything we needed, it was very clean, and the homeowners were very nice and easy to talk to. I would recomened staying here to anyone. Every year some friends and I rent a cabin to go skiing for a couple days and we were all so happy with our experience this year we will definitley rent it again next year. Thanks for the pleasant stay.

My family and I spent four relaxing nights in this comfortable and cozy log cabin. We would definately look to rent this property again. The home has a great location. It is close to the shopping and restaurant area. However, it is also strategically located so that you can enjoy your privacy as well. Thanks again to Donald and his wife for thier hospitality
