My wife and I stayed here for our anniversary and were very happy with carriage house. It was extremely clean, in a great location, quiet (for its location), and very comfortable. The bed is comfortable. The shower has great pressure. The bathroom (shower and toilet) is a little awkward at first, since it's so small, but that's not a huge deal. The biggest plus to this place is the location. Within a few minutes walk, you're at the river, good shopping on Broughton, a park, or a good pub. The only downside is in the bedroom; at night, the street lights brighten the room quite a bit. For those that prefer dark rooms, I would suggest a pillow over the head or an eye mask. Also (and this is very minor) it would be nice to have a small TV in the bedroom - for the ultimate laziness. Again, this is a great place especially for the price. Lots of privacy and comfort for the same price as (in same cases cheaper than) a hotel room.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, sightseeing, tourists without a car.

Savannah is such a charming town, and the Carraige House was a wonderful jumping off point for our adventures. Perfectly located and walking distance to all the sights, it was great to come home to its cool fun interiors to take a load off. I loved everything about it.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

The carriage house is very well located, comfortable and safe. We stayed a month and everything you need is there. Big plus is secure WIFI and parking. It is charming and you get a real feel for city life. The property manager and the owners are delightful and helpful should you need them. Bring your walking shoes!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, tourists without a car.

This carriage house is perfectly located for walks anywhere in the historic district and along the riverfront. I hardly used my car at all in the week I was there. Janet made everything from the rental agreement to the prompt return of my deposit really easy. Other pluses - the washer/dryer upstairs, the adorable garden for morning coffee, and the parking space right outside the gate. It's loaded with charm and the upstairs bedroom/bath get a lot of light but the downstairs is fairly dark and, as another reviewer mentioned, the stairs take a narrow twist at the top that takes some getting used to. My only real complaint was that the broadband connection was slow. I'd hoped to do work remotely while there but needed to seek out a faster connection.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, sightseeing, tourists without a car.
Owner response: We've been working with Comcast to increase the internet speed. So far no luck but we'll keep trying. Glad all was well otherwise.

Janet was a total pleasure to work with during the reservation process. She answers her phone and is always cheerful. We really enjoyed the property. Everything is tastefully done and the place was very clean and well stocked. They even provided coffee! The location is awesome. We parked our car on Friday, enjoyed walking a few blocks to the river area and didn't need our car until we left on Sunday. Thanks again Janet for a memorable weekend.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

What a wonderful, cozy place to spend a few days! We loved the location....we were very close to restaurants and the tour trolley stops. We walked everywhere we wanted to go. The stairs are a little challenging but the character of the carriage house is amazing. It was clean and smoke free. We would consider staying here again!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, tourists without a car.

Our stay of four nights at this charming newly-reappointed carriage house was a great experience. The furnishings were tasteful, the bed very wonderfully comfortable and surprisingly there is a stacked washer/dryer on the second floor. It was lovely being able to sit outside in the walled garden with the blooms and butterflies. The carriage house is gated, so we felt doubly safe. Surprising to Southern Californians, destinations in Savannah are very often within walking distance. And there is so much architectural history to see every time one sets off walking. Janet the owner of the rental was very responsive and helpful, including accommodating our late-night arrival. If we were to return to Savannah I would certainly rent this lovely place again. My only reservation is that since the weather was in the 70s during our visit, I would have preferred to have had screens and been able to open the windows. I do realize though that airconditioning is most effecient when windows remain closed. We thought this place was a great value and are recommending it highly to our daughter and son-in-law.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0
