Tons of snow helped make this a fun time for the kids, especially those from Virginia who never get to play in the snow. Perfect sledding path formed down the slope from the cabin, snowmen built, snowball fights....and then a nice cozy fire inside to warm up. Family members from NJ, VA, & OH all merged together for our annual get together. 2 new doggie members of the family were allowed to come, which was the final deciding factor for choosing this place. So glad we did. Enjoyed lunch at Weaver's in Hancock after checking out. Snow covered all those lovely features pictured on the website....would like to visit again in the summer.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, sightseeing, romantic getaway, pet owners, families with young children, adventure seekers, girls getaway, people with disabilities.

My family rented this house for a thanksgiving and a 70th birthday celebration for my father. We have a wonderful time. This house is warm and inviting with lots of space to spread out. We especially loved the indoor wood stove. We are a family that lies to cook and the kitchen was big enough for several people to work together. The kids in the family enjoyed running around in the woods and using the tree swings. Also a bonus that the dogs could go with us. The bird feeders were full and the birds were happy. Unfortunately we did not see any deer or bears, but maybe next time!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, pet owners, families with young children, girls getaway.

We had a great weekend together...large open living area for socializing...lots of counter space...beds were comfortable...decor was perfect for the retreat...bathrooms were very clean...very clean everywhere. Did a lot of hiking...went to the flea market...enjoyed singing around the fire pit under the stars. If you want a retreat that is secluded this is the place for you!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, sightseeing, romantic getaway, pet owners, families with young children, adventure seekers, girls getaway, people with disabilities.

This was one of the best places that we have ever stayed. We had a reunion in the area, so we didn't get to spend as much time there as we would have liked, so we are planning on returning. I would highly recommend this place. It was a welcome change from the motels that we stayed in for previous reunions. Very clean, quiet and relaxing. The photos do not do it justice. There are nearby attractions, but when we go back, I think we will just enjoy the quiet and hopefully a campfire.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, sightseeing, romantic getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, girls getaway, people with disabilities.

Our extended family enjoyed a weekend at the Indian Grave Retreat. We had a great time hanging out in the spacious family room, playing volley ball at night under the lights and the kids enjoyed the swing. It was hot outside but stayed cool in the house. The kitchen is fully equiped and the property is lovely. We visited the nearby swimmng pool which had a slide and pool basketball hoop. It was a quiet place to relax and be refreshed.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, pet owners, families with young children.

Stayed a full weekend and had a wonderful time. Accomodations were just as described, clean and well maintained. Spent half the time relaxing and enjoying the peace and quiet and the other half visiting near by towns like Hancock Maryland for the Antiques and Berkley Springs W. Virginia for the Spa. We loved "Snider's Roadkill Cafe" for a hunters type breakfast in Artimas, PA and did a 360 for dinner at "Panorama Organic Restaurant" in Berkley Springs. We will do this again and recommend it as a great time for family and friends to get together as we did. Thanks for offering such a great opportunity.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, sightseeing, romantic getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, girls getaway.
