Pure Magic!Guest comment entered by owner
This place was pure magic! We walked into the cabin and wished our reservation was longer! The views are so spectacular and the cabin was oh, so cozy! It was the perfect honeymoon! We enjoyed a night and morning soak in the Hot Springs Resort Spa and the hot stone massage. All were wonderful! Last but not least was dinner at the Mountain Magnolia which was out of this world! Highly recommended. We are already planning our next trip to Hot Springs and River Magic!

Getting Away TogetherGuest comment entered by owner
Getting Away Together
My husband and I booked River Magic months ago for our 5th wedding anniversary. We were really looking forward to "getting away" together. Two days before our arrival we found out we were expecting our first child together! We knew this was the beginning of a welcomed change in our lives. Upon arriving at the Cabin I knew this was exactly what we needed for a little rest and relaxation before the craziness of showers, sleepless nights and parenting are upon us. We hiked to Lover's Leap and Max Patch. We rafted the river with Huck Finn whitewater rafting. We grilled on the deck, watched the sunset and slept a lot. This Cabin is the most appointed and comfortable place I have ever stayed! Being a lover of cooking I found the kitchen to have everything we needed. We thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of this trip. Thank you so much for this little slice of heaven!

Beautiful river views and a great town
Beautiful river views and a great town
The obvious attraction to this cabin is the amazing view of the Nantahala river and Hot Springs, however this rental offers much more. The location is great, just far enough from town to feel secluded but not so far as to be inconvenient. Hot Springs is a neat little town, not even a stoplight, but there are a couple of great little restaurants/bars, an art/craft gallery, and a few stores. I'd recommend Spring Creek Tavern for a beer and some brick oven pizza, or Mountain Magnolia for some more high-end cuisine. The cabin itself is very nicely furnished, with high-end kitchen appliances if you prefer to cook and eat in. An HDTV, sound system, and good selection of DVDs and books are provided as well in case you're easily bored. The hot tub downstairs was a big bonus, my favorite way to relax and take in the view. Overall River Magic was a great experience, I have since recommended it to numerous friends and I hope to stay there again sometime myself.

Can't beat the view anywhere!
Can't beat the view anywhere!
Obviously the view alone is what lead me to book this cabin. The pictures are great but being there and experiencing is more than I could have imagined. But the attention the detail of the cabin was outstanding and appreciated. The decor was very interesting, I believe maybe art from the area. The kitchen had everything you could need and the ability and to wash dishes in a dishwasher or wash our clothes was nice. We grilled out evernight and enjoy coffee on the porch. Watching the fog come down through the mountains was breathtaking! The couch was comfortable and I wanted to lay in the chaise lounge all day. I want to come back in the winter so we can use the fireplace as it was absolutely gorgeous. I liked also that there was a seperate space downstairs, although we didn't need it for our stay. The attention to detail with the hot tub was unexpected and absolutely amazing, to be able to have two head rest positioned to take in the view, great job!! The town of Hot Springs was very welcoming and we took in a couple of enjoyable hikes, but it was very difficult to even leave the cabin as I fully believe it has the best view in the town. I wish I could have given the cabin all 5 stars as the view alone deserves a five star rating. Things I think the owners should think about: The Bed. The bed was the most unfortunately thing about the cabin, there is plenty of room for a king bed and that would have made the cabins amenities all around perfect. But we knew it was a queen before we booked. However, the bed was very uncomfortable, it slanted toward the head of the bed and the right side squeaked with every move. Didn't really have a great night's sleep. Electric and Water: Not sure if this has something to do with how the cabin is hillside, but the lights flickered A LOT. It seemed like almost every twenty minutes or so. We were so worried we didn't run more than one appliance at a time not knowing where the circuit box was. Also, the water pressure in the shower was disappointing as well. We had to set it to the most powerful stream and even that did not do well. I am thinking it has to be a logistical problem because of all the other details of the cabin. But may be something worth looking into. We will definitely return as well as highly suggest this to all our friends and family. We've already had several people ask once they've seen our pictures. Absolutely amazing cabin, thank you for such a wonderful vacation!

Owner response: Thanks for coming to River Magic. Yes, it is a very special place and we want it to be a first class experience in every way. The Cabin is new and high quality construction with attention to detail. You mentioned the lights flickered and all we can imagine is that it was weather related or power co. work in the area because this is not a normal issue. Also, the bed is a new Simmons Beautyrest Elite plush top and our guests have commented on how comfortable it is and even asked where we purchased it and the linens. We did check on it when we received your comments and found two bolts loose on the custom log frame and tightened these along with adding additional connectors. We respond immediately when guests contact us with any needs and work diligently to keep the cabin in pristine condition for the comfort and pleasure of our guests. We hope you will return soon and experience a fire in the fireplace!
Total relaxation and rejuvenation!
Total relaxation and rejuvenation!
River Magic was just that, magic! We traveled from Central Ohio and stayed a full week. The cabin was depicted exactly as described with many additional amenities, like coffee, spices and other condiments. The location is spectacular and easily accessible to the region of Asheville. The furnishings were very nice and comfortable and the many windows allowed for natural air conditioning so we didn't have to turn on the 'electric air', at all. Hot Springs spa is a must to take a 'soak' with dinner at the historic Iron Horse restaurant. The Appalacian Trail goes thru the town of Hot Springs and the Blue ridge Parkway is a short distance away. The view of the river is exceptional along with the exquisit mountain views. The owners have done an exceptitional job of creating a perfect get away for couples or a small family. We hope to be back. Highly reccommended!

Great house with an amazing view
Great house with an amazing view
My wife and I recently spent a few days at the River Magic cabin and had a wonderful time. The house is very well appointed, comfortable and relaxing. The views of the river and surrounding mountains are really quite spectacular, particularly so for us after a couple days of drenching rain which had the river raging! Just a great time overall and we'd love to come back in the future.

My wife and I stayed for the weekend and it was one of the best vacations we have had. The cabin is set-up wonderfully well and the views are breathtaking. Having breakfast on the deck was so peaceful and having the option to retreat into the living room to watch March Madness on the big screen HDTV was nice. The hot tub added extra relaxation at the end of each day, especially after hiking Lover's Leap trail. The pictures capture the cabin quite well, but you have to see it in person to believe it! We are looking at our calendar to see when we can come back. Thank you for a great weekend.

My fiance' and I loved our stay. The cabin is top shelf, the view is amazing and all the amenities are perfect. The mountains in winter are my favorite, and we watched the sun rise over the ridge from the hot tub on our last morning there. Highly recommeded.

My husband and I went to Hot Springs for a long deserved vacation. We happened upon River Magic when other rentals were not available for our dates. It was the finger of God that lead us there! River Magic is absolutely magnificent! Unique! It is new, pristine, and has all of the amenities that you need. We stayed for 10 days and our vacation would not have been as perfect had we not discovered River Magic The photos on the website are true to life, what you see is what you get!! We can assure you that you will find River Magic even MORE beautiful in the real! The views are breathtaking! River Magic is a true treasure! Enjoy!

What a special place -- from watching the clouds over the river, to watching boaters coming down the river, to enjoying dinner on the deck listening to the river, to watching the hummingbirds at the feeder -- it was all magical. Wonderful kitchen and hot tub overlooking the river. Such a special place tucked into the woods yet so close to the sweet town of Hot Springs. Thanks to the owners for creating such a wonderful spot!
