This is a brand new recently converted building consisting of 2 apartments, just across the road from the Barbados Fertility Centre. Walk east on the new boardwalk to the popular Accra beach or stroll west along the picturesque beach to the Hilton. Swim and snorkel in the lagoon out front or surf the barrier reef just beyond. Enjoy fabulous views from the elevated balconies and marvel at the colorful sunsets. Relax on the sea side patio in the shade of the almond tree and watch the fish jumping and the frigate birds and pelicans gliding over the brilliant and glittering sea.
Wave Surfing: This property is located right in front of a good left hand surf reef break. There are other excellent surf breaks (including 'Brandons' and 'Sunset at Accra') within easy walking distance along the beach. Best time of year for these local breaks is from January to May. March and April are usually the best months. When the surf is up it can last from 3 to 6 weeks, with best conditions on a rising tide at any time of the day.
Snorkeling and Scuba Diving: Good snorkeling is available all along the coast and within easy walk from the property. There is a small lagoon nearby where you can feed the fish with bread. Hundreds of fish will eat the bread right from your hand. Just outside the reef there are a couple of good scuba diving locations. Local Scuba groups visit these spots regularly.
Sailing and Horse Racing: You can rent a Hobie cat from beach operators in front of Coconut Court hotel 2 minutes walk along the beach from the property or just relax with a drink in hand and watch the Yacht Club regattas from the comfort of your elevated balcony (winter months) They tack up the coast and come so close to shore you can hear the captain calling the orders.
In addition you can walk to the Garrison Savannah and place a bet on your favorite horse or hang out with the locals either in the Grand Stand with a coctail in hand or in one of the tents in the grounds and join a card game.

Back again to this Paradise!!! This time, seeing that we were just my husband and I we reserved Lower Camelot and we loved it no other words can be used!! Forget to rent a car (or rent it for few days to go around in the island) you just need two steps for the natural "swimming pool sea" in front of you and a beautiful short walk on the boardwalk to arrive to Accra Beach; you have everything you can desire for what we consider"holiday"! just bring the persons you love with you (I was with my husband and seems like honemoon again!)Always in a walk distance you have restaurants, coffes, supermarkets....Have your breakfast in front of the see and your dinner earing waves and looking at the moon..nothing is comparable! We just came back but looking forward for the next Camelot reservation. And, above all, Mark is a great owner and now a great friend too!!!! Thanks Mark for sharing this Paradise with us. Greetings from Italy Pat e Gigi - CIAO!!!!!!Did you find this review helpful? Upper Camelot was everything we had hoped it would be and more. The accomodations were beautiful, comfortable and convenient. The beach was serene and we enjoyed snorkeling in the lagoon. Anything you could want or need is within walking distance, or a short ride on the bus. We would not have changed a thing. It was as close to perfect as a vacation could be. We will treasure the memories of our visit until we are able to return again.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

We stayed 5 nights in June attending my step-daughters wedding......then off to another wedding in LA would you believe! We were 5 adults and Upper Camelot was just the perfect place to stay. Everyone agreed I'd got things spot on! The appartment, the house and the beach are stunning and Mark is the most gracious host. Most of our time in Barbados was spent with wedding related activities and we found it so relaxing to come back to what usually felt like our own private beach. Like other guests we enjoyed eating at Tapas ( book to get a sea view table) and the day after the wedding, all the guests went to Oistins for the Friday fish fry. It's very easy to get around as buses and the reggae mini bus taxis all stop nearby and charge a standard 2 B$ or 1 US$ which is very good....... remember to have the right change! Upper Camelot is a special place and we didn't want to leave. Would recommend unreservedly.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Stayed over Easter Week with our two teenage boys. The view from the balcony in Upper Camelot is really great. Even the view from the toilets is remarkable! Nice sandy lagoon and deeper area outside of the rocks right in front of the cottage, if you just like floating around. If you want to swim or snorkel, go to the other end of the boardwalk - the Accra Beach is probably the best beach on the island. Definitely rent some snorkeling equipment and swim out to the man-made reef in front of Accra Beach - lots of fish, and a couple of turtles out there you might see. If you're on a limited food budget, try Just Grillin' in front of the Accra Beach, and the pizza place in the same complex. At the new mall with Subway, halfway down the boardwalk, the Chinese food is good there. The ice cream at Chefette, across from Accra Beach, is good and costs much less than Haagen Daz at the new mall. All of these places you can get to go, and take back to your beautiful balcony view! Don't miss the feeding of the animals at 2pm at the Wild Animal Park - you won't forget that, and your kids, no matter what their age, will really enjoy it. Folkstone Marine Park is very good for snorkeling. Be careful of the sun - you'll get burnt in the middle of the day. Mark is a fantastic owner, just a phone call away, and very helpful with suggestions and recommendations. After driving all over the island, I didn't as good a place to stay, and Mark makes it even better.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Camelot is our home away from home. We stayed there last year, again this year and have already booked for next year. This year was a special birthday celebration and with the help of Mark, the owner/architect, was a memorable one. Nothing compares to having your birthday celebration by the sea in a beautiful home with great friends that we have met over the years. Camelot is not only gorgeous but in a great location. We are very happy to walk to all the nearby restaurants and never had the need to rent a car because the buses are convenient (just outside the front door) and inexpensive. There is a boardwalk just outside of Camelot, which we walked every morning that is a hub of activity. Tappas restaurant is our favorite and is just located mid-way on the boardwalk. Every year we try to extend our stay a little longer because we love it so much.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

It has taken me a couple of weeks to submit my review probably because it’s difficult to return to normality after a stay at Upper Camelot. I think as long as I live I would never tire of the view from the house. In the morning when I first woke looking out to the sea from the bedroom balcony to see how beautiful the day was shaping; having breakfast on the absolutely fabulous and huge terrace balcony or sitting watching the sun go down and seeing the bats come out to play. Whenever you are there you can look out over the beach and see people walking below looking up to see who is so lucky to be staying there. Fantastic location (the South is SO much better than the West in my opinion); lovely interior; restaurants and bars close by; attentive host; excellent customer service; great utilities; and once again, superb view. You stay there and you just don't want to leave.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Just returned from 10 days staying in Lower Camelot and I can only describe it as fantastic. The apartment is wonderful with everything that you need and more. The bedroom is huge and with the windows open and listening to the waves crashing outside it is easy to forget about your 'real life' back home. But wait until you open the patio doors and step out onto the huge balcony and take in the breathtaking view of the ocean. We already miss our early morning dips in the lagoon which were a highlight of our stay and returning to this apartment / beach after a long day out and about was 100 times better than going back to some anonymous hotel. Wonderful sunsets watched from the balcony each evening finished off each day in style and we were very sad to leave Lower Camelot. Thank you Mark for allowing us to stay in your wonderful apartment - we certainly hope to be back some time in the not too distant future!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

Upper Camelot was our home for two weeks and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. Mark is a very friendly, accommodating, and helpful host who was always available for questions during our entire stay. Upper Camelot is elegantly furnished and situated right on the beach. Sitting on the balcony of the master bedroom in the morning and looking down onto the beach while drinking a coffee is a one-of-a-kind experience! The "house beach" with a little lagoon is good for a swim and other beaches within a few minutes walking distance offer different experiences. There are some nice restaurants around, some of them directly on the beach. If you have about an hour, you can walk into Bridgetown along the beaches. The entire experience was great and when we come back to Barbados, we will absolutely rent from Mark again! Sabine, Kai, Annette, and FlorianDid you find this review helpful? I stayed in Upper Camelot and Lower Camelot with my daughters aged 15 and 16 for a week in August 2011. Upper Camelot if nicer than Lower Camelot but the lower apartment is itself a very nice apartment. We had a very comfortable stay. Mark made us feel very welcome and ensured that we knew from the start how everything in the house worked. I holiday in Barbados frequently, and am also from Barbados originally, so what I can say is that this apartment occupies an amazing location, with views up and down the beach, is walking distance to many decent restaurants and is good location for promenading (or jogging) as it's at one end of the south coast boardwalkj. The apartment is very comfortably furnished and has everything you would require for a self-catering holiday if that's what you want. The decor of the house is modern, even though it has been restored in keeping with traditional Barbadian architecture with wooden floors etc. There is plenty of character. I think it's worth paying extra for the aircon in the living areas as they get warm at night. During the day it's breezy and all the windows and doors are open anyway!! The beach in literally on the doorstep and the area is excellent for snorkelling and safe bathingRecommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, tourists without a car, age 55+, girls getaway.

View outstanding! Attention to detail in the house is amazing! Owner was very helpful. The layout of the house was great. We spent hours and hours out on the patio enjoying the view. The proximity to food and activities make having a car is a toss up. The only down side is some road noise from the back side of the house, but it is more than offset by the sound of the ocean from the front side.Recommended for: Families with young children, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, tourists without a car, age 55+, girls getaway.
Owner response: actually this review refers to Lower Camelot. Upper and Lower are interconnecting which is great if 2 families want to be close together.
