I can't say enough great things about our stay at Nancy's "Treehouse". It was the perfect location and we even walked from Pike Market to the house. We began to even enjoy the walking up hills and steps. It was excellent exercise! The house is perched in the trees and the view is spectacular. We walked from our daughter's one night in the rain and it was chilly, walked up all the steps and found our porch light on, small heater running, bed made, new linens and cookies on the counter. Nancy was an incredible hostess and we definitely will stay here again on our next visit....very highly recommend.

Owner response: I try very hard to treat my guests the way I want to be treated! That makes it very easy. Thank you for the kind and prompt review. I really hope you come this way again.

I loved, loved staying in Nancy's cottage property - the lighthouse. Decorated wonderfully, a cozy bedroom and a nice big deck. So much better than a hotel room, there is no comparison. Just wonderful and I can't wait to return.

We rented both units for three nights when we came to Seattle for a neice's wedding. The 39 concrete steps up from the street to the first unit are only in fair condition (several chipped edges, some off-level). A further 33 wooden steps climb to the "treehouse" unit--the first flight is narrow and older, the second is brand-new. The BBQ patio lies between these flights and has a beautiful garden around it. Once in the houses, we found them very comfortable, giving us a real feel for living in Seattle. The most spectacular views are from the treehouse balcony. It's a great addition to this property. We were also blessed with sunny weather every day. Parking was manageable, and buses made getting to downtown very easy.

Owner response: Thank you for your review. The Lighthouse was built in 1923, and the concrete steps from the street date from that era. One day soon I will replace them, possibly at the end of summer when the season ends. They work well for me, although I guess I have ceased to notice them! And I agree, the view is worth the climb!

We had a very comfortable stay here and felt at home in a new city to explore. (June 27-July 6, 2011) After 9 nights here, we came home wanting to go back for more. This unique property was clean and comfortable and had everything we could ever need. The bed made for a perfectly luxurious sleep each night. The amenities and space allowed us to visit with family in the area instead of a cramped hotel room. Using local market fresh ingredients, I even cooked a recipe from one of the Jamie Oliver cookbooks on the shelf. When we were not chosing to dine in, Seattle restaurants have spoiled us for future dining at home. Cantinetta in Wallingford was a quick 2 mile drive away and was in our opinion, the best restaurant in the city. It was so decadantly fabulous that we went to their second location in Bellevue and were equally thrilled with the food and service. Macrina bakery was outstanding for our birthday celebration and breakfast needs. The house had a beautiful private deck to sip our morning coffee and the upper grill area had all the luxuries of home with the Webber grill. Pike Place Market and all the hot spots of the city were easily accessable from this location. Parking was usually not a problem unless we came home late then it was a bit more competative but not impossible. We can't wait to visit and hope we are lucky enough to stay here again. Thank you, Nancy for making this one of our best family vacations ever. You were quite accomodating and we enjoyed your tips for exploring Seattle. Thank you for sharing your home with us.

Owner response: Thank you for sharing your thoughts on your Seattle experience. I love to share my favorite spots and I can't wait to try Cantinetta! I look forward to your next visit!

My husband and I stayed here for a three day weekend following a cruise and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Nancy really is a perfect host with lots of spot on recommendations for sightseeing, dining, etc. The apartment was perfect with a fully stocked kitchen, state of the art French press coffee machine, bedding that was very cozy with trillion count sheets. My only regret is that we were so busy seeing Seattle that we really didn't get to relax and enjoy the place as much as I would have liked. The stairs up to the apartment are a workout but the view is worth every step! Extras included being able to catch up on my laundry there and following Nancy's recommendation to take the ferry to Bainbridge and sip Cali Cosmos at the Pub. A perfect day! A perfect stay. Thanks Nancy, we would definitely love to return!!

Owner response: Thank you for the lovely review! Your cruise stories were so inspiring that I am leaving on Saturday for my own Alaska adventure! You are what makes this business rewarding. Remember folks, another year is added to your life with every set of stairs! Happy Travels!

My husband and I recently took our first trip to Seattle. We could not have picked a better place to stay! The bungalow has absolutely everything you need for a romantic getaway or a trip with friends. The views and landscaping in Queen Anne are breathtaking. The house is literally a 10 minute walk from Queen Anne Blvd and the Seattle Center. We utilized the bus system daily to explore the rest of the city without any troubles. Nancy was so helpful and the house felt like a home away from home. We would definitely recommend this rental for anyone visiting the city.

Recently returned from our trip to Seattle (June 9-14) where we stayed at this property. This is a beautiful place to stay. Well maintained property with a great view. The owner is a most gracious host and will make you feel like family. When is Seattle, before you stay anywhere else, first check availability here, you won't be disappointed.

Owner response: I cannot emphasize enough how satisfying it is to have guests that appreciate the effort made to ensure their comfort and enjoyment of the house, and of the Seattle area. While the weather is not always accommodating, I try to be!

My two daughters and I stayed here for 4 nights in the early Spring and could not have been more pleased with our decision. The location is great and convenient, and the views (especially from the hot tub) are fantastic, the décor was lovely, and in general it was just what we were looking for. And while it served its purpose for a dad and his two girls….I’d like to come back for a grown up weekend. You won’t be disappointed.

Owner response: It was a pleasure to welcome a dad with two lovely and well-mannered daughters! Good guests are what keep me going. Come back soon!

I am from Seattle but I usually stay with family but this time my boyfriend from Scotland was visiting Seattle for the first time and I wanted this to be amazing and it was! Everything from the front deck views to the inside and the hot tub were amazing. We were able to expirience Seattle due to the location and honestyly you can't beat the price in a hotel in Seattle for this beautiful bungalow. Nancy was great if we had any questions or concerns and i couldn't have asked for anything better. We both would love to stay there again.

This was indeed a very cozy place to stay! Nancy was very accomodating and had some fresh baked cookies and fresh flowers upon arrival. The views are great from the jaccuzzi. Conveniently located to many attractions in Seattle and minutes from Pike Place Market. This is somewhere we would return to.

My husband and I had a 5-week goal to rent close to our niece and her children on Queen Anne. How fortunate we were to have found Nancy’s VRBO within blocks from our family! Moreover it had everything and more that we needed to feel at home. First of all, Nancy is the perfect VRBO host—gracious, helpful and respectful of our privacy. This was a lovely, cozy and well-appointed space, private, yet a few minutes away from the heart of Seattle. All of the amenities are noteworthy but the stereo speakers in the living room, the wi-fi, cable T.V. and the great warming fireplace were outstanding. The “galley” kitchen was stocked with the basics. Then there’s the large perfectly maintained hot tub on a private deck with a splendid view. By the way, all of our guests have exclaimed how much they loved our rental. Who would want to stay in a hotel after staying at your house, Nancy? Thank you, hopefully, we’ll be back. Beth and Gregg

Owner response: VRBO should add a "wonderful guest" key to their site. Beth and Gregg are welcome at my home anytime and have I mentioned the fabulous shrimp?!! Thanks for being wonderful guests.

We had a wonderful stay at the Queen Anne bungalow, and would definitely stay here again. The pictures are an accurate representation--as other reviewers have noted, it's cozy, but tastefully decorated and well appointed. (The sheets were fabulous!) And the views from the various levels of the surrounding gardens are terrific. Great places to relax with an espresso in the morning or a glass of wine in the afternoon. No dishwasher, but there is a freezer (separate from the small fridge in the kitchen). Few if any houses in Seattle are air-conditioned, and our visit happened to correspond with record-breaking high temperatures. But Nancy had set up several fans, we slept comfortably, and the heat did not deter us from climbing up to the highest parts of the garden to enjoy the view. Infinitely better than a hotel, with easy access to the business district in the residential district of Queen Anne. Nancy & Tristan both were wonderful, gracious hosts who do an excellent job managing this lovely property. As they'll be the first to point out, there are stairs to climb from the street, and there's not a lot of closet space for those who don't exactly travel light. But we loved it and hated to leave!

Great location and sweet, well appointed house. Nancy and her daughter are very gracious hosts, coming to greet us upon arrival and helping us when we made a mistake with the hottub. We ended up going back to the bakery that the great muffins she left as a greeting; it was fabulous. Queen Anne is truly a great location, and although we could have walked everywhere, with three small children, and many wedding party events, we found ourselves within 10 minutes of everything that we did by car. This encompassed Ballard, Green Lake, Lake Union, City Center, Wallingsford, University.... The house itself was small but very cute and well done. The living room has a pullout couch, where my young children slept, and the adjacent bedroom a plush queen bed. We ate mostly outdoors on the front porch by the nice zen garden. Although Taylor street is right on the bus line, this unit is very private. Pretty much the best of both worlds. Climb above the house and you have the hot tub location which offers the splendid views you see in the photo. There is also a nice gas bbq at the mid deck behind the house, and a heat lamp on the front porch. The basement, which is very clean, has a nice neat laundry area. The kitchen is small, with a half refigerator and no freezer, but again, well appointed and it worked great for us during our stay. I would highly recommend this to a couple or a family with small children. I think it would be a bit tight with four full sized adults.

Thank you for sharing your wonderful bungalow, a cozy retreat in the city. It was great to have a fantastic view of the city, especially at night from the hot tub, yet feel so secluded thanks to the beautiful landscaping and decks. The fresh flowers and amenities added so much to our stay. You didn't leave a thing out. Your decorator's touch throughout the home is fabulous - I especially like the bedroom's art work and quote. To top it all off, staying here allowed us to see a part of Seattle we wouldn't had seen if we didn't stay here -- the Queen Anne district! Beautiful! Thanks, Nancy.

Tristan & Nancy- Thank you for offering this wonderful bungalow. It's a perfect romantic getaway for two; it felt like a 5 star hotel! We had a fantastic 20th anniversary week. We walked everywhere through sun, rain, & snow-this is a terrific location! We stumbled upon so many interesting events in this quirky, cosmopolitan city, like the SIFF sci-fi short film festival. But we didn't see half of what we planned because we so enjoyed soaking in the hottub and reading in front of the cozy fireplace. We hope to be back! Anamary & Scott

We enjoyed our lovely week at your house. Although small, it has everything you could want or need and is very cozy! It was a perfect location for us - halfway between downtown and our grandson, and on the busline and near a park was even more convenient. The views were exceptional. We missed the scones we read about, but the roses when we arrived and the chocolate treats were appreciated.

What a great weekend get away. From the fresh flowers and coffee waiting for us on arrival to the hot tub with city skyline views at night, your cottage was a perfect place to relax and a great central location for exploring downtown. We parked when we got there and bused and walked everywhere we wanted to go, from Pike place to upper Queen Anne. Thanks!
