  Two friends and I stayed in the "casita" and loved it. There is a nice view of some mountains from the 6 large front windows, and from the little balcony off the upstairs bedroom. It is not a loft, but a real upstairs, with a king size bed, and a very spacious bathroom. Downstairs is a futon, that looked to be queen size. We took turns sleeping on it, and all agreed we got our best night sleep there for some reason! Everything looks new, and nicely decorated, with attention paid to details. I would, and have already, recommended to some friends.

  Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

  Our brief vacation at the Salida Guest House was quite comfortable, and would highly recommend it. We're making arrangements to return. Their usage of passive solar heat and sunshine was well designed. The kiva fireplace just really gave that special touch of comfort. This vacation rental was and is very new, and the owners take great pride in the functionallity, interior design, furnishings, and courtyard. They even had a small herd of mule deer visit the backyard meadow every morning and evening. We had a special treat for thier local fishing was quite good, and we enjoyed a fresh trout dinner to cap it all off. Compliments to the owners. D & D

  This was an amazing unit to have a getaway in. Everything was new, the fireplace was great, and it is very private. It is close enough to town so that you can go down there if you want or just cook in. We truly enjoyed it and will be back.

  This home is a true gem very close to downtown Salida. It is very comfortable and clean and a great place to stay!

  We so enjoyed our stay at the mesa casita! Restorative, peaceful, cozy and private. It was a great location for us to explore charming Salida and the gorgeous natural surrounding area.

  Recommended for: Romantic getaway.

  My fiance and I had a great time. The place is beautiful. The owner said she designs homes and it shows because it looks like a custom home, only way smaller. All the little details are beautiful and the whole place is well thought out. We would definitely stay again. Ryan

  We loved this place!! Such a cozy, inviting, quiet and restful little cottage. Perfect for two people. The owner (Sharon) was so nice and helpful. We didn't bring our dog but could have! The place was immaculately clean and new. Plenty of wood for the fireplace. Amazing little patio off the back overlooking the valley and mountain peaks. The little balcony off the upstairs bedroom provided and even better view! Had a great meal at the River's Edge restaurant in this quaint little town, drove up to Monarch Pass to view the fall color....spectacular. Loved everything about this little getaway....We highly recommend this place!

  We contacted the owners just a few days before we wanted to rent their VRBO. I thought it looked cute online, but it was even better in person! Sharon was easy to work with to reserve the rental. She gave precise directions, great information on site about where to eat, bike paths nearby and pointed us in the direction of the nearest dog park. The view was phenomenal, the rental cozy and the price was a steal. I can't say enough good things about it.

  We were delighted with this wonderful home. We were one of the first to stay here, and everything is state-of-the-art: granite counter tops, wood and tile floor, memory foam bed, wonderful views, top floor balcony, even an indoor hammock! We were happy our little dog was allowed to come, and we enjoyed the concrete walkway across the field from us to the doggie park. Thank you for a wonderful and relaxing experience.
