This magnificent home with an ocean view from the balcony is located in Islamorada at Mile Marker 85 in the exclusive gated community of Angler's Reef, a quiet oceanfront community in the Florida Keys. Anglers Reef is a boutique complex of 52 homes inspired by Native Conch & British West Indies architecture. Quaint streets & walking paths wind through this village-styled retreat. Amenities include a community pool overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and 500ft of private beach. The home's boat slip is available for rent with a deep channel out to the Atlantic. Or launch your kayak from the private beach (kayak rentals available for drop-off). Built in 2007, this home has 2 bedrooms located on the 2nd floor. Master bedroom has a private porch with an ocean view and the porch downstairs has a partial ocean view for morning coffee or cocktails. Homes decor includes stainless appliances, granite counters, tile floors, 3 flat screen TVs w/DVD players, cable with HBO & WiFi.

Parks in Islamorada, Village of Islands: Just 2 miles north is Islamorada Founders Park at MM 87 Bayside, which offers activity or relaxation for the whole family. An Olympic-sized pool with diving area, a shallow water beach, water sports rentals, ball fields, fishing jetty, bocce, tennis and basketball courts, vita course with 18 exercise stations, multi-purpose path, skate park and dog park all are within the 40-acre park. Fees may apply. Village municipal parks also include the Islamorada Library Beach and Anne’s Beach. There is the Windley Key State Geological Site, a state park, at the site of a former coral rock quarry. In addition to shady walks through unique foliage, fossils of sea creatures can be seen throughout the park. A free guidebook is available at the visitors center for use during your stay in the park. Islamorada also offers an 18-mile bicycle path that extends the length of the Village.

Scuba/Snorkel! : Islamorada, long recognized as the 'Sport Fishing Capital of the World,' is now an icon among sport divers for a similar reason: a massive population of tropical marine life. High profile coral heads and broad ledges shelter huge congregates of French grunt and goat fish, while regal queen angelfish casually graze amid the reef recesses. Friendly green moray eels swim freely along the spur-and-groove channels, and reclusive nurse sharks lurk beneath the overhangs. Islamorada offers a wide variety of shallow coral reefs, mini walls, shipwrecks, and even an underwater habitat for scientific research, the Aquarius. To learn more about Islamorada or any other manner of local lore, stop by the Chamber of Commerce at MM 82.5.

*The Eagle - This 287 ft ship was intentionally sunk in 110 ft of water as a dive attraction, cloaked in sponge & coral, populated by grunt, harpoon & jack. *Davis Reef - Reef revered for its incredible concentration of grunts & schoolmaster snapper, as well as several amiable resident green morays, long accustomed to benign interaction with the dive masters. *Alligator Reef - Now marked by a 136-ft-tall lighthouse, on this spot in 1822 the USS Alligator grounded & sank while protecting a convoy from pirates; remains of the wreck are the twin piles of ballast stones, but the coral reef - in just 25 ft of water - is vibrant and alive. *Conch Wall - Offering a precipitous sloping wall & captivating concentrations of barrel sponge & gorgonia punctuating seafloor. *Crocker Wall - A 450+-foot-long wall in 50 ft of water. The wall has a 30 ft decline and features grunts, yellow tail &grouper with spur-and-groove coral & block coral.
*Pickles Reef - Reef's minutia in 15-25 ft of water.

Our stay at Angler's Reef was great. Scott was super to work with and the accommodations were exactly as described. The house is well stocked, comfortable and is in a great location. We utilized the pool extensively and launched our rented kayaks right from the beach access. Favorite activities for our family included: kayaking, waverunner tour, backcountry/flats fishing trip, eating seafood, beachfront massage, grilling, swimming and enjoying the gorgeous weather. Our trip to Angler's Reef was exactly what we were looking for.

We enjoyed our stay at Angler's Reef immensely. If you have a family with young children, you enjoy boating, love good food, and want a friendly and quiet community, this is your destination. If you are into cruising the bars and getting ripped off at small shops, go to Key West. Pros Ocean views are great Sandbar within reach of a kayak or paddle board Community pool is the perfect size The house was comfy and clean Proximity to food and entertainment was good Quiet and friendly community Cons Community beaches, not what we had hoped for. They seem to be limestone sand and the water near shore is very silty. After traveling the whole length of the Keys, they are not really the destination for beach goers anyway. The one decent beach was at Bahia Honda State Park, which is 45 - 60 minutes away from the house in Islamorada.

Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing.

This was our first visit to the Keys and we were not disappointed. The house was absolutely beautiful, comfortable, exceptionally well equipped with everything we needed and more. It was immaculate and everything worked perfectly. At some point during the month the air conditioning thermostat went out and we called Scott. Within a few hours of our call he had it repaired. There were so many things to do when we were able to tear ourselves away from the gorgeous ocean-side swimming pool. We visited Key West three times, looked at a coral reef from a glass bottomed boat, rode an airboat at the Alligator Farm, attended two Arts & Crafts festivals, toured the Everglades National Park by both car and boat (the boat ride was not worth the money, actually), toured the Diver's Museum (very interesting even for non scuba divers), toured the quarry across the street from Angler's Reef, fished from a bridge in Marathon, ate tons of seafood and Key Lime pie, at a wide variety of restaurants, saw magnificent sunsets at several different locations and shopped our hearts out all up and down the Keys. We really enjoyed meeting other "Snowbirds" at the pool and exchanging info with them on where to eat, fun things to do, etc. Inevitably the conversation would turn to comparison of accommodations and Scott's house was always the best in regard to comfort, quality of furnishings, and maintenance. And you will never find a nicer owner to work with. We highly recommend this property to everyone and will hopefully come back here again sometime soon.

In preparing for our trip to Anglers Reef, we rented kayaks for the week and set up a sailfish trip and a backcountry trip. This was a great place to be! Short paddle out onto the flats with our 7 and 10 year olds searching for shells and observing marine life - no more than 10 minutes from any of our fishing guides and we could walk to dinner at the Island Grill. We also made a day trip into Key West to see Scott Kirby at the Smokin' Tuna - great place, great musician, good guy. Great location for the outdoor types - the Geological Park across the street is a must see, you can bike to Theatre of the Sea, and (again) several afternoons walking barefooted in the flats out front with the kids after a short paddle out - wonderful place. This house is a definite repeat for us. We've been doing Christmas in the Keys for the past five years, accompanied by some summer weeks. You should not hesitate to get here. Scott was great with food and Backcountry Cowboy suggestions. And, hey, the bottle of Sailor Jerry waiting for us on arrival was spot on - got Caribbean soul ... and some Texas here ... Get out of the cold and grey; book that flight; go to Anglers Reef now.

My fishing family of 4 had the good fortune to stay at Scott's home for 2 weeks last June. He had just acquired the home and went out of his way to make it available for us on relatively short notice. It was in great shape on our arrival and the "check-in" was seamless. The stay was thoroughly enjoyable. We love to saltwater fish and visit the Keys once or twice yearly. We look for quick ocean access, boat slip on-site, a fish-cleaning station, a safe and friendly neighborhood, a well-kept home with modern conveniences and a friendly, responsive owner. Bingo! Found one! We trailered our 26' boat from SC, launched at high tide at Founders' Park, stored the trailer outside the Anglers Reef compound, & tied up at a rented AR slip. Fuel and boat services were about 200 yards north at Snake Creek Marina. Parking was a bit cramped but feasible for our medium SUV and crew cab pickup - two sedans or medium length vehicles would fit fine. The boat docks were clean & secure with several fish stations. Ocean access was immediately outside the protected dock area. Fishing grounds are sooooo clooose! Pisces heaven! My wife caught a 42# Cubera with a 1/8 oz jig on 12# test while targeting yellowtail! It was lip-hooked and couldn't get its teeth on the leader. Could have had a line-class record except she had to hand off the rod to my son to pass it under the anchor line on a trip around the bow. What a memory! The house was spotless, modern, very comfortable and well-equipped. Any questions we had were resolved with a single call. The experience was wonderful and Scott was an outsatnding host. ><> ><> ><>

I cannot say enough about our stay at 120 Anglers Way. My husband and I rented with our two young children, ages 6 and 4. The unit, a stone throw from the water, was spacious, charming, tropical, relaxing with all of the perfect amenities to make us feel right at home. From menus and recommendations for local establishments to an adorable coffee packet from Midway Cafe and Sailor Jerry rum, the touches were perfect. The owner also shared a variety of materials for fun things to do in the area. We went wake boarding, fishing, shopping and took boating expeditions to the scenic sandbar. We had an amazing trip and would recommend the property to anyone visiting the Islamorada area. Wicked awesome!

We wanted to let you know that our July vacation was perfect from start to finnish. Thank you first of all for all the extra things you did to make our stay just right for us, the home had everything we needed and more, it was super clean and very modern and we loved the decor. We couldnt believe what an unbelievable location Anglers Reef is not to mention your particular home which has beautiful views and only 20 steps or so from our front door we were stepping on to our boat. Getting on our boat and out to a reef was as easy and convienient as getting in your car and driving to the grocery store! We were blown away by the view from the home, the dock and the pool. It was so easy to get anywhere, we ventured to many reefs, fishing spots both bay and ocean side and pulled up and docked at so many wonderful Keys style restaurants. My two boys fished off the dock each evening catching lots of mangrove snapper for fun, the community was quiet and fun at the same time, lots of very nice families but never crowded. We can not say enough about this fabulous best kept secret in Islamorada, we have visited many different Keys but we have definitley found our favorite place. Once again thank you for making our stay so perfect, my hubby loved the Sailor Jerry! We look forward to our next visit. :-)

This was our first visit to Angler Reef and we very happy with our choice. It is a great community which feels safe and loved seeing all the kids run around playing hide and seek after dark. Our unit was perfect and Scott was very easy to work with. We will definitely be back for another visit.

About the owner: We love the Keys! We purchased our first Keys home next door to this one (HomeAway #326184) back in 2009 and loved it so much we bought this second home right next door. My wife and I have 2 girls ages 11 and 8 and they also love the Keys. They love boating, fishing, paddle boarding, snorkeling, kayaking, biking and just hanging out at the Keys famous sandbars. Islamorada is an amazing Island and in my opinion the best location in the Florida Keys! You can't go wrong!

                      Why the Owner Chose Islamorada:
Our home has nice views of the Atlantic Ocean and is not backed to any roads. The community is gated and has a pool right on the Atlantic Ocean, a marina with a deep water channel to the Atlantic Ocean and a beach.
