Good value for the quality of Condo for the price I paid, but would be unacceptable at peak season and peak cost. Condo is in great location (easy on and off HWY ) Close to town and stores Condo is in need of TLC and upgrades Owner was hard to get a hold of when needed ( very nice person to deal with just hard to get a hold of. ) Linens in bad need of replacement Amenities in need of upgrade (Igloo Cooler to small and Larger Styrofoam cooler is unacceptable DID NOT USE, Not many kitchen tools, pots and pans, ) All in All not a bad stay at all, Just being honest about things

Manager response: Dear Guest, I am confused by your review. You gave us 4 stars, so I assume you had a very good experience here. My Aunt's condo was just renovated last year, with new tile, carpet, new kitchen, appliances, pots/pans kitchenware, and bathroom. We purchased new sheets just 2 months ago. As for me being reached, I live 7 minutes from the condo. I called you back and sent you a text, to which you said "Sorry we just got back from Hana and it's late so I don't want to call you. Don't worry about my question anymore figured it out. Mahalo" I feel your review does not reflect the true experience that most folks have in dealing with me and my condo. We offered THREE coolers to you, most condos have none or jut one. Our fees are quite fair, including high season. Other 2 bedrooms at our resort cost $150 or $155 a night, so ours is quite reasonable at $140/night. You are getting a lovely 2 bedroom condo on 5 acres of land with one of the largest swimming pools in South Maui. It's a really good deal and we are booked for almost the entire high season. The photos on our listing are exactly how our condo looks, so guests can see exactly what to expect before booking. I take great pride in offering affordable, modern, clean and inviting accommodations for guests and wish you could have discussed some of the things that you loved since you gave us 4 stars. Mahalo and Aloha Deb
Great family place
Great family place
The condo was very clean and neat upon our arrival. The kids enjoyed the boogie boards at the local beaches. It was also nice to have beach chairs and coolers to take to the beach! There were lots of beach towels, which was also a plus. The kitchen was also very well stocked and we used it to cook most of our evening meals. My youngest enjoyed visiting the beautiful pool at night after our daily activities. Across the street, the beach is an amazing place to view the sunset! Overall, we enjoyed our stay! The condo is a nice place to stay with your family!

Great upgraded condo and amazing host
Great upgraded condo and amazing host
From the time of booking to the time of checkout we had a great smooth process. Deb was fantastic! Travelling with a 1yr old and 3 yr old can pose challenges, but Deb had everything we needed for our stay and many extras. We arrived to a clean well presented condo with everything ready for our stay. From the extra sand toys, house toys, balls, pack'n play, high chair, beach chairs....it worked to make the stay a success. The trade winds blow through the unit which makes the AC more of an option than a necessity. The pool is mere moments from the patio door. The BBQ's never seemed to be too busy when we used them. The condo is centrally located in Maui making the drive to attractions and to the beach very convenient. Even the beach across the road is worth checking out. Loved the resort! Loved the condo! We will be back.... Thanks!

Great holiday at Koa Resort
Great holiday at Koa Resort
Thanks Deb for our great holiday in Maui! The beach chairs, boogie boards, umbrella, tennis rackets, cooler and all the towels made our trip more enjoyable. We tried out several beaches during our stay. Our boys (ages 12 & 14) loved the boogie boards on Pollo Beach and Big Beach. We all enjoyed the pool at the end of our day. The boys and my husband also enjoyed the ping pong table in the mornings and evenings. The fans in all the rooms really kept the condo cool. We did not need air conditioning. The location of the front door and patio doors allowed for a breeze in the evenings. The condo was exactly as shown in the pictures. The washer & dryer were also appreciated. Next time we would pack fewer clothes. The kitchen was fully stocked and the BBQ in the cabana was convenient. It was nice with the extra bedroom and the sofa bed in the living room, each boy had their own space. With the condo on the main floor, it was very convenient to get to the pool and other amenities. I would recommend your condo for others traveling to Maui.

the pool was AWESOME!
Aloha Deb and Family, We had a wonderful time in Maui and enjoyed your condo immensely. The pool was awesome! Our family enjoyed taking the Pacific Whale Foundation dolphin trip and saw hundreds of Spinner Dolphins and sea turtles. We also snorkeled with turtles at Makena Landing and Ulua Beach. My husband's favorite was driving to the top of the crater and birding at Hosmer Grove- we saw several native Honeycreepers. Iao Needle was also a nice trip and so close. Keali Ponds National Wildlife Refuge was also a great place to go birding. Thanks for providing the boogie boards and tennis racquets. They were great for the kids (and adults). Mahalo!

Wonderful time- wonderful memories
Here is a review left in our "Talk Story" book... Aloha Deb and Family, My husband, sister and I had a wonderful time visiting your beautiful island. Mahalo for supplying your condo with all the necessities. It's a very comfortable home away from home. The beach items were a bonus. Our drive to Hana was definitely a highlight. We had not driven the full circle before which was really fun and a bit nerve racking at times. Loved the walk to Twin Falls- plants were beatutiful... My husband tried fishing from the shore - no luck, even after getting lots of advice from the locals. Mahalo - Wonderful time, wonderful memories

Home away from home
Home away from home
My husband, sister, and I just spent a great two weeks at the Koa Resort in Maui. The condo was clean and well maintained. It had all the amenities to make our stay both comfortable and enjoyable. I would not hestitate to recommend this property to friends or relatives, or to stay again. It was hot during our stay, and we were glad to have fans in all the rooms and large sliding glass doors to open to let the tradewinds cool off the condo. I'm not a fan of air conditioning, but if you are you might miss it. The rooms were all a good size and furnished nicely. It is time, however, for new bedroom linens. The mattresses were great - firm and comfy. Lots of towels in both the bath and kitchen. The kitchen was fully equipped making meal prep easy. Loved having the washer and dryer in the condo. Next time, I will pack much lighter. Condo is located in easy walking distance to beaches, shopping, and resturants. The main street is very busy with limited sidewalks, so I either walked the beach or drove to shoppping and resturants. The busy street might be an issue for some because of road noise in the bedrooms. Something to consider if you're a light sleeper. I was so exhausted from our busy days I slept right through the noise. The 4:00 a.m. rooster called woke me a couple of times. While this is not a luxury condo, it is well appointed, clean, and comfortable. You're getting a lot of value for your dollar. The landscaping was lovely. The beautiful fragrance of plumeria greets you coming and going. My sister and I enjoyed the large pretty pool a few time, but our favorite swims were at the amazing beaches. Our favorite snorkeling spot was McKenna Landing. We saw turtles, rays, and beautiful corals. Our favorite food was coconut shrimp at the Pupu Bar in Kihea. Most amazing scenery - full road trip to Hanna (don't turn around - the whole road is passable). Start out really early to allow lots of stops along the way. We were driving some pretty windy roads at sunset. I have no regrets about this booking. A bonus was the beach supplies; chairs, umbrella, towels, boogie boaord, etc.

Manager response: Mahalo for your response. It was wonderful to have you stay in our hale. We have purchased new bed linens as suggested. I would like to tell visitors about the drive PAST Hana and the 7 sacred pools (if that is what you meant by don't turn around)...if you are using a rental car, be sure that your agreement allows you to drive on that road (highway 31, a few miles PAST the sacred pools). Many void your contract if you drive on unpaved roads (so the insurance will not cover damage to your car nor will they come to get you if you break down on that part of the island). Also, very important is that FLASH FLOODING may occur. It might not even be raining on the road, but up the mountain it could be down-pouring and all that water rushes down the mountain to the ocean, often washing over the road with little warning. Cell phone service is non-existent in places and there is no gas, food or lodging. Also keep in mind that the road takes you to Ulupalakua Ranch area (upcountry), NOT MAKENA, so you still have an ADDITIONAL HOUR drive once you get the the ranch to get back to our condo in Kihei. I do not recommend driving past Hana around to the Ranch at night. It's good to know what you are getting into before you go! Mahalo and enjoy paradise safely!

About: We fell in love with Maui upon first sight and saved every penny to move here in 2009. We love the beaches, sunny weather, great people, rain forest, mountains, diving, surfing, strolling, snorkeling, peaceful moments, tradewinds, the smells of plumeria or pikake in the air...the coffee, the wine, the food, the culture, the ALOHA spirit. It's an amazing feeling to experience and we wake up every day here so grateful! We are lucky enough to own at Koa Resort and convinced our Auntie to buy here as well, so we help her to share her condo with vrbo guests. We outgrew our condo for full time living when we had our second child, but we keep it for weekend getaways (love the Koa pool), for ohana (family) to visit, and for YOU!
Why Koa Resort:
Koa has a unique feeling of home. It's not a crowded, cramped resort like those down the street. This 2 br condo is over 900 square feet and about 250 square feet of lanai (outdoor patio) space on over 5 acres of lush land. The swimming pool, always sparkling clean, is the BIGGEST condo pool in S Maui and it's just a joy to be here.
The Unique Benefits at this Condo:
Across the street from the beach where you can jog/stroll, amazing sunset views, whale watch during season, launch kayak or stand up paddle board, and RELAX. On property we have a large swimming pool with a bridge, shuffleboard, 2 tennis courts, BBQ, tons of sweet smelling plumeria trees, and awesome trade winds that keep us from overheating!
