Nice Cottage with Garage and all neded Equipment available. Only the Heating ( timer settings ) are not realy sufficient to cover cold days in June for all the rooms and the bathroom as well. We needed to heat by burning wood in addition but this did not cover all of the house. The beds upstairs may be need newer "Matratzen" ??? People slept there complained about it. No Internet access available and mobile net access is very poor at this location. Easy handling with take over, give back this cottage and payment for it. Alltogether : It was a nice stay there and suitiable to us ...with a few things to be inproved it would be a little bit better. Thank you for a nice place to stay .... Andreas

Hi, I had a lovely vacation in the RiverSide cottage with my family. I was there with my husband's parents, my husband and my 2-year old daughter. The cottage was just wonderful, well equipped with everything you would need on a holiday. It was really a HOME away from HOME. The cottage was good for elderly as well as for kids The best part of this cottage was that it was completely child friendly, with everything available :) My daughter just loved this place. Thanks to hosts for keeping it well maintained and very clean on the arrival. It just very close to "fall Of Foyers" and just perfect if you are looking for a peaceful holiday. Nidhi

We stayed at the Riverside Cottage in Foyers, Loch Ness for 5 days with our three daughters aged 2, 11 and 14. The cottage is lovely with 2 very nice upstairs bedrooms and a lovely downstairs bedroom, the living room was also very cozy with a wood burning stove, satellite TV and a selection of books, games, maps, brochures and also toys and activities for the little one. We specifically were looking for a cottage that is child friendly and we were not disappointed. There was a child gate on the stairs, a high chair and many other touches that allowed us as parents to relax fully as if we were at home. The kitchen is modern and fully equipped and ther dining room is also very lovely with a big table that would seat 8 or more. The bathroom was also modern and clean. The garden is lovely to and you are virtually a few meters from the waterfall. Location-wise it is located in upper Foyers a short walking distance from a little playground and the shop and café. We had never visited Loch Ness before and were not aware how 'remote' the little towns along the lake actually are. Driving along the narrow roads with the passing points took a little practice but added to the charm. We went on several nice walks, one of which starts virtually outside the cottage and leads down to the graveyard and Jane Fraser memorial. The thick forests surrounding Foyers were also very impressive. In a nutshell we can highly recommend this cottage and the location is perfect if you are planning to get away from the hustle and bustle of the world for a while. There is nothing negative at all we can think of. Obviously you do need a car around Loch Ness as apart from the shop and café everything else is a few miles or many miles away. As far as activities we can recommend the boat cruises from Ft. Augustus and the Fish & Chips by the locks, Castle Urquhart, Dores Inn and the tea in the lounge and the whiskey bar at Craigdarroch House in Foyers. A brisk 3 mile hike will get you to the Whitebridge hotel and pub in whitebridge which is a nice rural kind of place. We only had drinks so I can not comment on the food. Bring good hiking boots.

Just returned from the cottage and just cannot praise it highly enough. The space, character and standard is exceptional, with absolutely everything provided, including a supply of logs for the stove found in the in the garage that would see you through the worst winter. Even binoculars are available (and very good ones too) to allow close up viewing of the spectacular gorge just beyond the back garden fence. Setting quite glorious and the smell of the night air from an open lounge window from the front garden has to be experienced. Heavenly. The majesty of Loch Ness from the east is beyond description. View from the lovely local cafe/restaurant (The Waterside) is one of the best. We were so lucky with the weather too - sun never stopped shining, and what a place to wake up in. Saw lots of deer and wildlife: what a joy. Extremely friendly and helpful neighbours, the ease of booking and help from the owners, lots to see and do in the area and very reasonable rates for such a lovely property made this one of the best holidays we have had, ruined only by how short it was. Don't bother looking at other properties, just book and go!!!

We had a fantastic holiday, the cottage was very cosy, clean and well equipped and an ideal location for walking the dogs right outside the back door. Everyone is very friendly, especially the neighbours adjoining the cottage, who will help with any information about the area. Foyers has a shop and cafe which has fairly recently been refurbished, so enjoyed a very welcome cup of tea and lunch after a walk to the Falls. One of our favourite places was Dores which has a pebble beach where the dogs could swim and then enjoy a walk by the Loch through the woods, the views are magnificent and the dogs were in heaven. We had a very interesting day out to Tomatin Distillery which has been run for many years by local people and is worth a visit. There are lots of walks and places to visit and we shall definately be back to stay at Riverside cottage and would highly recommend it to others.

This is a lovely and well appointed cottage that is deceptively spacious, with 3 good sized bedrooms, living room, dining room, kitchen and bathroom. When we arrived late on Saturday the keys were available as promised and we settled in to a clean and well maintained property for the evening. The house is extremely child friendly and the beds in particular are very comfy with the cottage feeling warm and cosy despite the blustery conditions outside. It is situated in Foyers which nestles on the banks of Loch Ness and has wonderful views and walks locally. We had a stress free stay and had no need to contact the owners on our week up there and to be fair the local neighbour was very ameniable and approachable should we have had any concerns. The only thing the cottage would benefit from would be an internet connection which would help research the local area but other than that we had everything we required. The village is a little limited but does have a local shop where you can get basic amentites and a little cafe near the falls, if you are looking as we were to go out for the day and settle down in the evening with a hearty dinner then you will be fine. There is plenty to do in Scotland but a car is essential as everything looks deceptively close on a map until you head out, the highlights though were seeing red squirrels in Foyers, dolphins off the coast of Rosemarkie & the the whisky at the Glen Moray Distillary! All in all if you want a cosy retreat away from the daily grind with stunning scenery & wildlife then this cottage is for you.

Perfect for even 7 persons if one does not mind sleeping on a very comfortable couch. Well equipped with everything. Just one chair borrowed from the very freindly neighbour for the 7th person. The surroundings are very nice and it is not so far away from the centre of Inverness where one can find everything. We had a nice time and all gave it the 5 stars

Nice cottage, friendly neighbours (and housekeepers). Enough space for 6 people (including kids and pets), clean, furniture and everything really good. A second toilet would be nice (and a dishwasher too).Lots of things to do in the surrounding: Inverness; Speyside; Culloden; Dolphin-watching. The price (costs) are fair. The (small) shop in Foyers is ok, we strongly recommend the restaurant/pub "Dores Inn" in Dores. This cottage is definitively a recommend.

I spent two weeks in the cottage with my wife and our four children, aged from two to six. The cottage is really THE place to go if you need a peaceful place. It is ideally situated, apart from the road, with just the nice noise of the river... It is clean, and we did not miss anything during our stay. The cottage is very well for the children, there are games for them to play inside and outside. Foyers is a good location to visit the Higlands, ideally situated to reach the East as well as the West of Scotland. The neighbours are very kind people, always willing to provide some help if required. I would recommend this property, and I think I will go back there next year!

Uneingeschraenkt weiterzuempfeheln! We had a wonderful time here, the cottage is beautyful and in a very good condition. If you bring children with you, you will especially be happy to find not only a cot and a baby chair, but also lots of toys, tableware and security installments for babies and children. The location is perfect for a lot of daytrips and for hiking in the Highlands. Everything in the description is true and Kim and Shaun don't promise to much! Thank you very much, we would love to come back someday!

We have spent a wonderful week at this cottage with our two children and dog. The cottage is lovely, it is very clean, spacious and comfortable and has everything you would need, especially ideal for young children as there are stair gates fitted, plug socket covers etc. The owners have thought of everything to make it an ideal place for you to stay. The open fire in the living room was great, and we had one every evening. We even cooked some toast over the fire which the kids thought was great! This really is The place to come and stay for a relaxing break and spend time with your family. The neighbours are very kind and helpful, and everyone we met whilst out walking were also very nice and made us feel welcome. There is plenty to do around the area, but you do have to travel a bit in the car. Dont miss Landmark - an activity park that the kids really enjoyed - great for adults too. We went on a dolphin boat trip from inverness but sadly didnt see any dolphins - but it was still enjoyable. We really enjoyed the speed boat trip on Loch Ness going from fort augustus - well worth the money. We saw red squirrels, lots of deer and even a couple of golden eagles flying overhead - make sure you take some good binoculars! The scenery is out of this world - we went for alot of drives to look at the scenery and all the Lochs. There really is nothing negative I can say about this holiday and the cottage. We had the best time!

What a lovely cottage in an outstanding area of Scotland. The cottage had everything we needed, was clean and spacious and in a tranquil spot along the shores of Loch Ness. Superb long walks on your doorstep, taking in the lovely views of the Loch and the abundance of wildlife. Further afield, trips to Fort Augustus with the Caledonian Canal were well worth a visit and you can also take a boat trip around the Loch. Fort William is worth another visit and on the way, take the Gondola up the side of Ben Nevis - well worth the money! Very welcoming and helpful neighbours, there if you need anything but not intrusive. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend the cottage to friends and relatives. We plan to visit again in the Summer next year and do all the other things we didn't get time to do. Foyers is a very friendly place to stay, off the beaten track but within easy reach of places to visit and things to do, or just a lovely place to relax. Our children (10 and 12) loved it, my son was in awe of the wildlife and my older daughter and her boyfriend fell in love with the place! None of us wanted to come home!

Owner response: Thanks for being such a fantastically patient and understanding family when the washing machine broke down! So nice to get such brilliant reviews - makes us very happy to know that our guests really enjoy staying at our cottage. It makes all the hard work worth while!! Thank you. Kim & Shaun

If you want to get away from it all then Riverside Cottage is just for you. A lovelly cottage in the quiet village of Foyers, the cottage has everything you would want from a holiday home, including some fantastic walks from your door step. Inverness is only 20 minutes away by car and the lovelly village of Fort Augustus with it's canal and on the shores of Loch Ness is just 15 mins the other way. Myself, my wife, our two young children and the mother-in law, has a very relaxing and enjoyable break. Thanks

We stayed at Riverside cottage mid October and had a wonderful time. The cottage is in a small village with one local shop and one restaurant , With lots of lovely woodland walks and a waterfall walk . The cottage was very clean with everything you could need including a fresh pint of milk in the fridge and tea and sugar ready for your arrival .It was very child friendly which was fantastic as we have a very active 13 month old and even more active six year old ! It was great knowing they could wander around safely and I could relax which is just what you need when you are in such a idyllic location . The village is about 18 miles from Inverness city (which is a lovely city) so very easy to travel to . There are many things to do all in a radius of around 30 miles .We went to Landmark activity centre which was fantastic for all ages ( lots of climbing involved) . We fell in love with the Highlands and the lovely cottage .I would definitely recommend this cottage to friends and family and hopefully we will be returning very soon

We came to run the Loch Ness marathon, which was handy because the start point turned out to be just up the road from the cottage! It had everything we needed and owners were friendly, it was also all at a very reasonable price. This place feels like a world away from everywhere else and it's the perfect place to spend evenings in front of the open fire with a book and bottle of wine. All in all this cottage provided us with a fantastic holiday in a stunning part of the country.
