From the moment you step inside this tranquil, waterfront home, you will feel relaxed, comfortable, and ready to start your vacation! This historic house will offer beach living at its best!
This original house was built in 1925, and was the first house on St. Pete Beach. Even then they recognized its perfect location! Upon entry, you will look up to 25-foot vaulted, wood-planked ceilings and original hard-wood floors. Straight ahead, past the living room and out the kitchen window, you will notice there is a wide water view. The breathtaking long view of the McPherson Bayou will intrigue you, and draw you into the kitchen, to fully experience the entire water view of the beautiful Bayou. But first, as you enter the living room, you will see a gorgeous 5 foot long salt water aquarium on your left, that has been built into the wall, and will surely put a smile on your face upon arrival. On your right, a 52' flat screen TV for your enjoyment, along with a stereo and surround sound equipped with Sirius Satellite Radio. There you will see stairs leading to the balcony that overlooks the main living area and a door that leads to the 2nd Floor bedroom. Once you enter the 2nd Floor Bedroom, you will see another staircase, leading to the 3rd Floor.
The 3rd floor provides a 360 degree panoramic view from a great spot right on St Pete Beach! This is a great place to watch the sunset or firework shows. The Gulf and McPherson Bayou are a sight to see from this view! This is truly the most unique room of the house...just open the windows and feel the sea breeze!!
Back downstairs, the dining room is open to the kitchen, overlooking the water view of McPherson Bayou. The dining room table is salvaged-wood seating 8, and with the addition of 2 leaves, the table seats 12 people. Two gorgeous Maritime lights hang over this table.
We have seen Dolphins at play, and a Manatee couple who have been visiting us for 3 years now! If you see them, they love to drink fresh water from the hose, and love to eat greens such as spinach and greens! It is such a privilege for us to see these animals appear to us in their natural habitat! This waterway is also a 10-15 minute boat ride into the open Gulf waters.
This large 2400 sq. ft home has all the luxurious amenities and upgrades such as stainless steel appliances, including a gas range (natural gas) Wolf Stove and griddle in the middle; top-of-the-line Electrolux Refrigerator, Dishwasher and Front Load Washer/Dryer. Furnishings from Tommy Bahama, Restoration Hardware, and antiques accent this home throughout.
The property has been renovated and restored. The bedrooms have plush, comfortable bedding, plenty of closet space or dressers, lamps, fans, and each with it's own flat-screen television! We've even provided a Full and Queen size air mattress. The Master Bedroom has access to a deck just outside doors that lead to the backyard, and an attached bathroom with a heated jacuzzi tub, double shower heads, double sinks, and even speakers with its own volume control, so you can enjoy listening to music as you are getting ready. The Mother-in-Law Suite is equipped with a full bathroom and kitchenette, including a fridge and microwave for your convenience. The 4th bedroom can easily access the full bathroom near the front entry.
The Laundry Room is newly built and with ultimate convenience in mind, including Electrolux Front Load Washer/Dryer and separate wash sink.
Outside in the front of the property, you will find a 60X40 yard surrounded with beautiful, tropical landscaping. Aligning the fence is bamboo, royal palms, fox tail and fish tail trees, jasmine, birds of paradise, and a variety of other plants. The yard alone is large enough to park about 5 cars if needed. The driveway can fit an additional 3 cars.
In the backyard area there is a 6 person hot-tub complete with an overhead cold shower and misting nozzles unseen anywhere else! On the waterfront side of the hot tub, there is a table with seating for 4, next to the original wood-burning fireplace. There is a hammock between two tall palms and beyond the gate, a huge dock with a fish table and shower, and plenty of room to pull your boat up!
We have equipped the home with two kayaks and four beach cruiser bikes for your complete beach experience! There is also WiFi, DVD players, Iron, Hairdryer, Linens, Towels, Kitchen Utensils, Laundry Detergent, Drier Sheets, Household Cleaners, Paper Towels, Toilet Paper, Guest Napkins, and everything you would expect of a true luxury vacation home!
****All products used are organic & biodegradable****
There are speakers throughout the main living area, Master Bedroom & bathroom, kitchen, 3rd floor where there is another volume control, front yard and left side of backyard (near hot tub), which plays music of your choice, to enhance your mood.
LOCATION! LOCATION! This home is situated in the heart of St. Pete Beach, directly behind La Casa del Pane and Gigi's Italian Restaurant, and a 24-hour Walgreens is located right across the street. Pass-A-Grille, the Historic Don Cesar, Corey Avenue, a variety of bars, restaurants, and shopping are just a walk or beach cruiser ride away!
Also, there is a Free Transportation Service on the beach - Information for this service will be provided upon arrival.
Best of all: BRING YOUR PETS! We are pet lovers and welcome your furry friends! Lido Park & Kid Playground is just 1 block away! It is not gated, but is dog & kid friendly, and is well maintained. There is doggy disposable bags there, but sometimes the box is empty. There are new exercise bars that have been installed in the park, and new kids play ground equipment as well.

This house is absolutely amazing. Even better than the gorgeous pictures show. We couldn't believe all of the extras (stocked cabinets, tons of towels) and the location couldn't be better. The décor is lovely and the house is luxury through and through. The owners were so accommodating and have thought of every extra detail. AMAZING!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

My daughter was getting married in St. Pete Beach, so I looked for a place large enough for the Bridal Party to stay and get ready, and also a place with great photo ops... boy did I find the right place! This house is AMAZING! Not only is the house beautiful, but FUN too! I loved the stereo system that played throughout the house and outside. It made a great meeting place for everyone after rehearsal dinner! I loved giving a tour of the place to all our visitors because they all were so impressed! The beds are comfortable and the kitchen, laundry room and bathrooms are stocked with everything you would need. You could literally come with your clothes and toothbrush and be comfortable! If you do forget something, there is a Walgreen's drug store right across the street. The house is centrally located to dozens of restaurants and the free cabs are awesome. If you don't want to go out to eat, the kitchen has state of the art appliances! Unfortunately the weather was cold and windy when we were there, so we weren't able to take advantage of the fun things to do! There are bikes and kayaks available, and a slip for a boat... but the best part is the beautiful sandy beach just across the street. I would recommend this place to anyone wanting a great experience! Thanks go out to the owners of the home! They were friendly and easy to work with! Sharing their home with us helped make an unbelievable wedding come true!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: We are so happy you all have great memories to cherish from your daughter's wedding day! I'm sure the girls had a great time hanging together, getting ready for the wedding. Hope you have a lot of awesome pictures - even though the weather was cold and sometimes cloudy, I hope the sun peeked out for a picture or two. Thanks again for taking care of our home!

This home was a perfect home-away for our family during our son's wedding festivities. We arrived to a beautiful, sparkling clean, comfortable and amazingly well equipped house. There were too many extra touches to list, but suffice to say it exceeded ALL of our expectations. We were even able to host a catered rehearsal dinner party here. From the first contact, Jennifer was so helpful and accomodating. The pictures on the website, if anything, couldn't possibly show the beauty and spaciousness of this place. The location is great as well. Even though the house is pretty much right in the middle of everything, inside and on the wonderful patio it feels very private. We all loved this place.... nobody wanted to leave. Thank you for making us "Heros" to our family. We're happy to reccommend you and I hope we can come again soon.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

This property is perfectly located in St. Pete Beach. 1 Block is the beach, in the backyard is a dock that you can fish off of. My family enjoyed fishing, did not catch anything big though. Also, in the backyard is a hot tub and a hammock, which we did not use, two kayaks and room to catch the sun rays. As you walk in to this home, there is the WOW! A hugh fish tank located in a wall, very pretty. The home is decorated beautifully. The beds were very comfortable. The only issued we had with the bedrooms is not enough closet space or drawer space in the small bedroom downstairs and the upstairs bedroom. Everyone enjoyed the look-out tower with fireworks and sunsets. The bathroom and kitchen supplies were very plentiful. Thank you Jennifer and Jamie for making your lovely home available to us and qiuckly answering our questions upon our arrival. We would recommend your home to our family and friends.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with young children.
Owner response: Donna - Thank you so much for your kind words! We are glad you and your fellow guests were comfortable, since you all enjoyed 2 weeks there. After you mentioned to me that you would have liked to have more space to put clothing away in the Queen Bedroom, I bought a "temporary dresser," and put it in that room. Being that we had a check-in later that day, I just wanted to get that in so there was a place for guest storage. Since then, we bought a cute dresser for that room :) As for the closet upstairs, we hadn't hung any shelving or hanging rods yet, but will be doing that this week, after our current guests have checked-out. Then that closet will be perfectly equipped to fit luggage, clothes, shoes, suits/dresses, etc.... Again, we are happy that you all had a great time!! Thanks again for taking care of our home, your suggestion, and your thoughtful review!!

Would definety stay again.Said to be the oldest house on St. Pete beach but you would never know it, it was updated beautifully! A techie's dream.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, girls getaway.
Owner response: Thank you Joan! We are glad to hear you all had a great time. It is a real treat to see Dolphins back there, and I'm sure that was an unexpected bonus to your trip. Maybe next time the Manatees will come visit :) Thank you all again!

My family of 9 rented this home over New Years Eve weekend and were blown away by how great it was. We all had an awesome experience. The house was perfect for us. From when we arrived we were greeted with bottles of wine and my family is a bunch of drinkers so they were thrilled. The backyard provided tons of fishing enjoyment for the guys and we all enjoyed the hot tub. There are so many treasures you find in renting this house. Nice TV's surround sound even outside, fully stocked kitchen, very comfortable beds, bikes. We enjoyed biking in the neighborhood. I slept in the twin bed upstairs and it was the best sleep I have had in awhile. I loved the candles everywhere as I light many in my own home. This home is close to perfect and an ideal place to rent. The only small (very small) complaint that we had was when we came in the house kind of has a moth ball smell of some sort. No biggie...Would definately rent again if we are in the area. This house far exceeded my expectations.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: Thank you so much for your kind words!! I apologize about the mothballs!! Our carpenter put mothballs in our crawl space (not sure why he did so) on December 21st, 2012, and we were booked from the 22nd until January 6th, 2013, so I was unable to get in and get rid of them or even know that the house smelled of mothballs. I truly do apologize. I have removed all of the mothballs and thankfully, the smell is gone!! It was pretty strong.

This is our 11th year renting houses through VRBO along the gulf coast (Seaside, Captiva Island, Madeira Beach, Clearwater Beach, Redington Shores) and the Outer Banks (Duck, Kill Devil Hills, Hatteras and Bald Head Island). After lots of discussion and reminiscing great vacations it was a unanimous decision that this house was our favorite! For us the things that put it at number one was the incredible way it was equipped/stocked beyond the VRBO expectations.and that everyone felt that this beautiful peaceful house made our friends and family feel welcome and at home.Recommended for: People with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: Thank you so much! We are grateful that our home will be a fond part of your family's memories!

Owner info
Why the Owner Chose St. Pete Beach:
We have visited many beaches throughout the world and St. Pete Beach, being voted one of the best beaches, grabbed our hearts immediately. St. Pete Beach offers a calm, tranquil atmosphere, where the Gulf waters are always warm, and the pristine white sands along the coast are always beautiful. This relaxed, small-town atmosphere provides a setting for a great life! This house was first built on St. Pete Beach in 1925, 2 years before the Historic Don Cesar was built. The property was originally built by a land developer who used the 3rd story lookout to show prospective buyers a birds-eye view of the cow pastures that would some day become 'Bella Vista'. It has been said that a short time after, a local celebrity, Silas Dent, had used the house when he moved his dairy farm to Bella Vista. It had even been used as a stable at that time!
There are many stories about the house we have gathered from a variety of people...some say it was a market, used as a post office, firehouse, dairy farm, and others say it had a realtor's office in the back. It then changed hands and stayed in a local family for decades.
We eventually found it, thought it was charming and extremely unique and couldn't believe how perfect the house was for us. While renovating, we lived in it, and even had our wedding reception there with over 100 people! We then decided it would be a great place to have others experience this magical house and create their own experiences and memories while on vacation here.
You will truly enjoy this house and its central location to everything you could see on St. Pete Beach. We know you will have an unforgettable vacation!
