BIG FISH, HORSE TRAILS, AND A DAMN FINE VIEW
BIG FISH, HORSE TRAILS, AND A DAMN FINE VIEW
I don't have the pleasure of living in Wyoming, but as long as Linda keeps this place open I'll be back. The place is first class from the horse corralls and paddocks to the furnishings in the bunkhouse. Linda provides smaller bumper pull trailers if you bring the big rig and don't want to try to squeeze it into the trailheads. Grass and alfalfa hay available, with BIG paddocks so your Horse doesn't feel cramped. And don't fish with less than a 3X tippet or moby dick will simply snap your line. She has private access to excellent fishing. Return from a great day of exploring the country on horseback, smack down a beer, and saunter down to the river and tie into trophy sized trout. It just " don't get no better". Soak up the view while having your morning coffee on the covered porch, while you contemplate where you will be headed today. Yellowstone, Clarks fork Canyon, The Beartooth, upstream on the Shoshone, downtown Cody... Whatever. Thanks Linda for a great time. Cowboy up, and tell Richard his spurs are too long!

This was my first trip to the area. My brother joined myself and my cousin/wife/dog and horses for a beautiful outdoor vacation. We were mostly interested in fishing, hiking& trail riding. We could have stayed a year and still would not have touched half the fishing holes and trails within 20 miles. Expand that to 75 miles and it would be 1% or less. The property was just right for us. The drive to YNP was short and beautiful. I even got a photo of a bear. We mostly spent our down time on the front porch of the bunkhouse because the climate up there was so nice. Watching the sun rise with a cup of coffee is spiritually uplfting and renewing as well as spectacular. The owner always dropped by to chat , which was a nice gesture and she made sure everything was OK . It was usually a cold Moose Drool at sunset on the porch. Fishing was great out back on the Shoshone and on the Clarks fork. Fish were bigger out back though. Nice facilities if you have horses to board. All the bases were covered here, however, we never turned on the TV . In this part of the world ,you don't need to.

Absolutely PERFECT!! A perfect vacation!! Fantastic views, wonderful sounds of the river, a scenic short drive into East Yellowstone - beautiful scenery, wildlife, completely comfortable, beautiful sounds & sights of nature. The bunkhouse is so comfortable - the beds were great, the kitchen had everything we needed to cook nice meals, the bathroom & shower were clean and very spacious. The windows provided great morning sun and a short, wonderful walk down to the river

"Beautifully located ranch with a warm welcome"
"Beautifully located ranch with a warm welcome"
What a treat! We simply fell in love with this ranch. Waking up to breath-taking mountain views, the scent of sage brush and the sound of the Shoshone river was very special, giving our holiday a real Western feel. Linda is an exceptional host who has worked very hard to provide a brand-new comfy bunk house. The ranch is perfectly located between Cody and Yellowstone and is a pleasure to return to after a day's touring around. My daughter particularly enjoyed the horses and made a special connection with Linda's gentle German Shepherd. The only downside was having to say goodbye to...

Year Purchased: 1986
About the owner: I have been a business owner in Cody since 1983 and owned and operated a roller skating facility until just a few years ago. I have also been a horse owner since the age of fourteen with the exception of the four years that I attended Western Michigan University. My family moved to Cody from South Lyon, Michigan where I boarded horses and raised german shepherds. In the later years I was also involved with the K-9 Search & Rescue Team. We brought Children, Horses, Dogs and Cats to 'Big Wonderful Wyoming'! All three children graduated from Cody High School with the youngest attending the Wapiti School from grades K thru 6. My Morgan Mare went from Show Horse to Mountain Horse. She took care of me on the trail; as well as packing out Elk for the family. I purchased her at six months of age and lost her a few years ago at the great age of thirty three. She was my horse of a Lifetime! Cody Country is most definitely an Awesome place to raise a family and to visit
Why the Owner Chose Cody:
Our Vacation Rental is located in the Wapiti Valley and offers outdoor experiences of a Lifetime!
