Pigeon Forge cabin description
Wind through the picturesque countryside and gently climb the mountain ridge until you arrive at your creekside cabin. At the top of the driveway, enjoy a beautiful mountain view before heading down the sloped drive to a generous parking area. Your secluded cabin awaits!
Our cabin is named 'Up A Creek' and rightly so! As you walk down the porch to the deck, you will immediately hear the rushing creek and mini waterfalls that border the front of the property. How wonderful to hear the rushing water as you relax in a log rocking chair or soak in the secluded hot tub. There is nothing much better than taking a hot long soak in the tub, enjoying a glass of wine, while listening to the sound of the rushing water while gazing at the stars...
Step inside the entrance door, and glance around. Immediately you should notice that you are being watched... but not by a scary intruder, but by Blackberry, the mama bear perched up on the rafter. Her job is to watch the door and keep an eye on all who enter. Why? Because up on a small platform behind her is her only cub -- Boo Boo! He is a playful little guy and enjoys peeking down from above to see what his guests are doing. Look at his sweet little face! Please say hello and remember to call them each by name -- it makes them happy and helps them live long healthy lives.
As you glance around, you will notice the spacious living area and kitchen with many amenities -- a dining area, comfortable seating area and flat screen tv with DVD player and Dish Network with 250+ channels. But again, keep an eye out for the playful bears -- you may find a few more!
The living area opens out to the deck and hot tub -- such a great place to relax! Look to the right to see a beautiful western mountain view -- you will catch many a sunset on this skyline...!
Back inside, you will find two bedrooms with queen-sized beds, cotton linens and pillow-top mattresses. The master has a soaking tub and an ensuite bathroom while the second bedroom has a full hall bath. Gorgeous locally-made log beds, furniture, and quilts add an elegant rustic touch. Each room is outfitted with a flat screen tv and satellite TV.
Back in the living area, you can climb the steps to the loft/game room complete with pool table, futon sofa (double size) and two cubbies with curtains that serve as 'sleeping hideouts' for the little ones. You will also find another flat screen tv, a wetbar with refrigerator, a full bath, and a closet with washer and dryer. Gaze down into the living area, and get a 'bear's-eye' view of the living area of the cabin as well as a view of the ridge across the creek.
Our cabin sleeps 6 adults and two children and has complimentary wireless internet service. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do -- in our case, being 'Up a Creek' is a good thing and something we love to do frequently. We hope you do too!

- The cabin is centrally located minutes from Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge and Sevierville. Dollywood and Dollywood Splash Country are just a few minutes away and accessible by 'back roads' so you don't have to wait in traffic. Right down the road is the Gatlinburg Historic Great Smoky Arts and Crafts Community Trail, an 8 mile loop trail of shops, studios, galleries, cafes and lodging. Historic Gatlinburg is just beyond, and also accessible by a back road, making travel there much easier. Or, you can catch one of the trolley's from the Glade's Community and for as little as $2, ride into town without having to worry about where to park....moreless

After searching and reading several reviews this cabin caught my attention. I contacted Karen and had it booked in no time. She was extremely nice and helpful with the booking process. We encountered a few very small problems the night we arrived, like our door code not working and a small issue with the stove but they were taken care of very promptly!! I had to get in touch with Karen a couple of times and each time she was very quick to respond! The cabin is absolutely beautiful! Me, my husband and our 3 children stayed here for Thanksgiving. There was plenty of room for us 5 and honestly 2-4 more people could have stayed comfortably! The kids LOVED the cubbies. They were the perfect size! I went and laid down with my daughter one morning and it was plenty of room for the both of us. The pool table and arcade machine got used daily by my husband and kids! We enjoyed the hot tub everyday in the freezing weather outside! I think the best part of our trip was seeing the snow everywhere! We had a few flurries on our way in but it had apparently snowed the day before and it was everywhere! Absolutely gorgeous!!! There was still snow on the ground when we left 4 days later! There is a beautiful view of the mountains as you come into the cabin drive. We walked up the drive and took several photos. This cabin isn't hard to get to at all. The roads are mostly flat. It is a bit of a drive (10-15 minutes) to get to Gatlinburg or Pigeon Forge but you go the back way and miss all the traffic. We loved this cabin and hope to be back for sure!

Wonderful view and clean well maintained cabin. Would love to come back and stay again. Great for the kids who loved the loft cubbies. Off the beaten path but with easy back roads to both Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. The only thing I would change would be the electric fire place, but I do understand why to have one in a rental property.

A must stay!
A must stay!
We really enjoyed our cabin this year. For the last three years that we've come to the Smokies, this has been the best cabin to date. Very well maintained and enjoyable. Every morning I opened the blacony door just to hear the relaxing sound of the rushing creek below. "Up a creek" is very relaxing, quiet and makes you feel right at home. I think we spent more time in the cabin this year, than the past, due to the Govt shutdown of the park and this cabin made it well worth it. The cabin is easy to find and not far from anything you want to do. Karen is great to work with! Should any issue come up you can contact her and she will get back to you right away with a resolution. Thank you Karen. Our entire party agreed they would definitely love to stay there again. Can't wait til next year!!

Wonderful Time!!!Guest comment entered by manager
I just wanted to let you know how much my family & I enjoyed our stay last week. Your cabin was perfect for the four of us! We have stayed in numerous cabins throughout various spots (all of which I find on VRBO), and I can't tell how much it means to walk in the door and know right away that you have rented a nice CLEAN cabin. I didn't pack linens, as I usually do, because you just never know how clean things will be, and was tickled that I didn't have to run out to get any for us to use, as I could tell the linens were very clean. Who ever it is that you use, I'm sure you've been told how wonderful of a job that they are doing!! My only bummer was that it was not cool enough to use the hot-tub :(. Thanks again so much for sharing your cabin and & oh yeah...for the wonderful affordable price too!!!! What a treat to not have to spend all of your budget on your accommodations!

Up The Creek-Relaxing
Up The Creek-Relaxing
We just got back from staying at Up The Creek. Let me say that this was the most relaxing, beautiful, clean cabin we have ever stayed in. When we first arrived, we got out of the car and heard the rushing creek down below. I had to record it on my phone so I could play it back to remember it once I was home. As we stepped inside the cabin, our daughters went exploring everything about the cabin, including the little cubby sleeping areas upstairs in the loft! Everything about the cabin was extremely clean and included everything that we would need for our stay. The decorations in the cabin were perfect, especially Blackberry and BooBoo! I even had to go buy me a little bear from the craftsman that made the bears to take home with us so we could remember them. The whole experience with the cabin from reserving/paying for the cabin until the last day that we left was very smooth and easy. The owners were great to work with. I hope the next time we head up that way we will be able to stay at Up The Creek. Anyone staying at Up The Creek will not be disappointed!

Our stay in Up a Creek was great! The cabin looked exactly like the photos in the listing and was perfect for our family of six. Karen was extremely helpful during the booking process and right on through our stay. She was so patient with all of my questions and gave us some great information. This was our first time using this website and the whole experience was better than expected, and that is thanks to the owners for helping us through the process. This cabin is in a perfection location - it was very easy to get to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. The whole family enjoyed several games of pool and seeing who could get the high score on the arcade games. Some of our favorites were The Comedy Barn (very clean, family comedy), scenic helicopter tour, Cades Cove, and the Smokey Mountain National Park. Our two favorite restaurants were Bennett's Pit BBQ and the Log Cabin Pancake house. We would HIGHLY recommend Up a Creek!! THANK YOU so much for sharing your cabin with our family and helping us make many great memories!!

Manager response: Lori, Thank you so much for your great review -- it is so helpful to our future guests to know what you enjoyed about the cabin and the activities you enjoyed while visiting the Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge area. It means a lot to us that you enjoyed yourself and found the accommodations clean, comfortable and above average. Please thank your son for selecting the sweet little bear, Brutus and leaving him on the mantle to keep the other new bear company. Both Boo Boo and Blackberry are happy to have two new friends! It was sweet and thoughtful of you! I know it was a very long drive, but please come back and visit us when you can. Karen
My husband and I had an amazing 8 days in this little cabin in the woods, along with 4 grandkids ages 10-12. Cabin well maintained, and very clean. Was concerned about the size of the cubbies, but they were big enough for any adult to sleep in and the kids loved them. Plenty of room for everyone to have their own space. we had some interesting visitors during our stay, one morning a vulture (huge) perched himself on the back deck, and we saw a Lynx pass thru the back, a red fox, and of course our little nightly visitor, Scrappy the raccoon, he came to see what was for dinner, even with the bungee securing the trash can lid he managed to get in twice :) I could only find one negative thing to say about the cabin and that is that I had brought some froo froo drink mixes to make and enjoy on the deck but no blender lol. That is the only thing I could think of everything else there was perfect, while grilling one evening we ran out of propane it was late so I waited until next morning, called and they delivered a full tank within an hour :) I would liked to thank Karen and her husband for letting us share this wonderful cabin, we will definitely be back. You will not be disappointed if you rent this cabin. Wayne and Linda Bricker

Manager response: Linda, Thank you so much for the wonderful review! We are so happy you enjoyed yourself and made memories at the cabin. Thank you also for the suggestion of a blender for the kitchen. I tried to think of everything, but the best suggestions come from those who stay in the cabin for an extended period of time. I will bring a blender with me the next time we visit so future guests can enjoy blended drinks. :-) Thank you also for the sweet little bear you left on the mantle. She is so pretty! BooBoo and Blackberry enjoy having someone else to talk to while their guests are out enjoying the sights in the Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge area! We appreciate you and look forward to your next stay!
The Perfect Getaway
The Perfect Getaway
We stayed for a week in "up a creek" and I couldn't have asked more out of our stay! They cabin was spotless when we walked in and actually a bit bigger than what I was expected. We had two young children with us (6 and 4) and having the cubby holes upstairs along with their own bathroom was so nice. It did rain quite a bit when we were there but you couldn't even complain really because when it rained the creek became bigger and was just beautiful to watch while relaxing in the hot tub. We did have a little raccoon friend who got into the garbage can pretty much on a nightly basis but that's really the only "critters" that we say while at the cabin. The last night my daughter actually said on several occasion "mom this really stinks that we have to leave, we should just go home get our animals and move here." Such a wonderful stay we will definitely be coming back again!

Manager response: Casey, Thank you for the great review! We appreciate it that you took a few minutes to let us and our future guests know about your experience "Up a Creek." You are right about the rain -- it is always a bit of a disappointment if you have outdoor activities planned, however, the cabin is very suited to "staying in" and it's so great to have a roof over the hot tub so you can still soak in it in the rain. I love watching the creek during and after a rain to see how full and fast it gets -- and it's always such a treat to crack your window at night and hear it rushing by as you fall asleep. Thanks again for the great review and please come back and visit us soon! Karen
A MUST for anyone seeking true comfort and relaxation!
A MUST for anyone seeking true comfort and relaxation!
My husband Matthew and I cannot say enough about this amazing place! The natural beauty of the mountains coupled with an AMAZING cabin provided just what we needed for a perfect weekend getaway! This immaculate home was unlike any "rental property" we have ever experienced and it is clear that the owners truly care for this home and most of all, their guests. With the exception of a morning excursion for pancakes, I must admit that we chose to visit the local grocery store so we could spend as much time as possible in the cabin! Steak dinner (YES THERE IS EVEN A GRILL FOR YOU) and a beautiful mountain view...in our PJ's! What more could you ask for? How about a relaxing soak in the hot tub on the balcony to top it all off! We are already planning our next stay! Thank you for sharing this amazing place with us! WE LOVED IT!

About: Chris and Karen bought their first vacation property in Myrtle Beach, SC so they could have a beach getaway and also be able to share it with guests. After totally enjoying the experience of renting it out on VRBO, they started looking for a mountain cabin. Being extremely picky (and believing their guests would be too!) they decided on this private cabin on one acre with seclusion yet close to all the local attractions.
Why Pigeon Forge:
After weeks of searching and visiting the many cabin communities in the Gatlinburg area, we finally found the perfect one. Wanting a cabin with privacy, we steered clear of the communities with cabins lined up next to each other. We also tried to find a cabin with access to the attractions without having to use the main roads, which become congested during the busy season. Additionally, we were thrilled to find this darling cabin overlooking a rushing creek and a mountain view. Access to the cabin is easy -- no steep uphill climbs -- and there is a spacious parking area. Motorcycles are welcome!
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
We want our vacation rental to be special -- not only to us, but to our guest whom we hope with return in the future. We have been so intrigued by all of the bears carved by local artisans, so the moment we closed on the cabin, we contacted one of our favorites and asked him to carve some special bears just for us. And, as a result, Blackberry and Boo Boo were born. We are so pleased to have their darling little faces keeping an eye on the cabin for us. Let us know how they behaved during your visit!
