I spent the New Year's holiday with my family at the Bradley's cabin and it was a fantastic winter holiday retreat. The cabin is spacious and really feels like home. Karen was wonderful to work us in at a moments notice with no problem. The cabin was very well equipped and user friendly. We loved the XC skiing and really enjoyed a couple runs on the hill behind the house. The dogs of course enjoyed everything! How fortunate to find such a great place that is dog friendly! The wood stove in the living room and master bedroom were a real treat. I've lived in Colorado most of my life and heat with a wood stove, but having a propane starter in the fire places was fun and easy. The kitchen was a perfect place to laugh and cook big holiday meals together. Most of all, we loved the HOT TUB!!! Wow, we've been to a lot of VRBOs but this large hot tub under the pine trees on the porch with the snow and the moon was really spectacular. If the cabin in the woods feeling wasn't enough, we were also impressed with the entertainment options and super fast wifi in such a secluded place. Really can't say enough great things about this place!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, pet owners, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thank you Jen for such a nice review! I am glad we were able to work things out for you on short notice. We always love to share our love of Colorado and the cabin with others. It truly is a special place. You were great guests and we are happy to accommodate you anytime you would like to come again!

We celebrated our 30th anniversary at the cabin and had a VERY nice time. We found this to be an excellent location to venture out to other places close by. We hiked the beautiful Bear Creek trail not too far from the front yard. We toured Mesa Verde and visted Telluride and Alta Vista Lakes. The fall colors were unbelievable! We even experienced some snow in the Telluride area. Bridal Falls was an easy drive from Telluride and worth seeing. We enjoyed the fall colors view from the house, master beadroom and hot tub. The deer family visited us everyday at the little pond in front of the house. Thank you for the opportunity. We will be back!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, pet owners, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thank you Cynthia for your warm comments on our mountain cabin. You certainly got in some great places nearby in your short stay. That is the beauty of our home. It is close enough to make great day trips to Telluride, Ouray, Durango and Mesa Verde National Park in Cortez, yet nestled in the mountains for the peace, solitude and wildlife. I am glad you and your husband enjoyed your 30th anniversary at our "little peace of heaven.". Thank you for leaving it so clean. We look forward to seeing you again!

I have stayed at this cabin in both the winter and summer and its a toss up as to which I like better! The summer brings cool mountain air, playing in the Dolores River all day long ( within a quick little walk of the cabin) or kicking back with a good book out on the porch with little distraction except the occasional sound of hummingbirds that are always flying about looking for nectar. The cabin has so much room that even with a big crowd we never once felt crowded and everyone has their space. The kitchen holds as many cooks that want to join in on meal prep with a big island in the middle for the non cooks to sit at and join in on the conversation while dinners being prepared. We ate dinner outside on the porch several times listening to the light breeze stir the pines trees. Winter is magical because you are among the beautiful snow covered pines, feeling snuggly in this beautiful cabin with a roaring fire going and if you are adventurous, a day of AMAZING skiing in Telluride behind you. You will have no problem warming up after skiing because this cabin has the best steam shower Ive every been in! This cabin truley has the best of both worlds...a faboulous, cozy and private get away that also offers any kind of out door adventure you can think of (jeep tours, river rafting, hiking) not to mention world class dinning and shopping in near by Telluride. Its a beautiful cabin decorated exactly how a Colorado cabin should be decorated...elegantly rustic but with all the conviences of modern living. It was an absolute pleasure staying at this cabin!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Gwen I know how much you have enjoyed staying at the cabin and your response truly reflects that. You are right, it is a toss up to whether summer or winter is better. We love both, but there is truly something magical about the snow glistening in the relection of the moonlight after a night of skiing. We hope you get a chance to come back and enjoy some time hiking, rafting or skiing soon. I hear that April or May of next year is in your sights!

I have had the privilege to stay at this cabin a few times over the past couple years and have had such great memories of being here. The cabin is warm and inviting from the second you walk in the door. The multi-floor layout is spacious enough to hold multiple families without feeling like you are living on top of one another. The view surrounding the cabin is surreal, especially in the wintertime. It is wonderful to come home to a place such as this after a long day of skiing, where you can relax and spend time with the family, whether it be watching TV, making dinner, sitting around the fire or playing games. I would recommend this cabin to anyone who is looking to create memories with friends and family. This cabin is gorgeous and the pictures do not do this place justice!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, pet owners, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: You are right Sarah, it is the perfect place to make memories and we have made many while we have been there. You and Scott have had some amazing times skiing in Telluride and ice climbing in Ouray. Those are some things you will never forget! Thank you for the kind review Sarah, you have been a perfect guest at our house!

I have had the pleasure of staying at this beautiful cabin! It is clean, well decorated and spacious, perfect for a family get away. It sits among beautiful trees and is completely peaceful. I would highly recommend this cabin to anyone who wants to get away, to ski, hike, snow mobile or just relax and enjoy the serenity. My family has stayed in the this Cabin many times over the years. It is a wonderful place. Typically we come there to getaway from everything, and it surely provides that for us. It sits up on the mountainside overlooking the forests along the Dolores River. From every window is a wonderful view of the canyon and endless trees. We always see lots of wildlife including tons and tons of deer, some elk, birds and more birds, caught a glimpse of a bobcat once, and even had a flock of turkeys come and hang out on the porch once. It is quiet and beautiful. The cabin is also stocked with everything you could want and is extremely comfortable. The kitchen is more than amazing... My wife simply loves to cook in it when we go up there. There is actually two stoves and the huge island in the middle makes it really convenient to spread out while you are preparing that special meal (or if you have a large family or friends coming up with you - which we have done). It actually big enough that someone can also be doing a puzzle on the other side at the same time. And, the rooms are super comfortable with lots of blankets and quiet spaces. We simply love hanging out with a warm fire going, a little music or reading a book, and the beautiful view. We highly recommend this cabin. The owners are wonderful people. The location is perfect to either relax and enjoy the quiet without going anywhere and/or to head into Telluride (which is really close) or even down to Bear Creek for some outdoor adventures. We hope to come back soon!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, pet owners, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thank you Joe for the kind words. You are always a pleasure to have at the cabin and not only leave it "better than you found it" but have always left a little piece of yourself and your family there with great cabin gifts. We appreciate everything!

Owner info
Year Purchased: 1996
About the owner: The Jim & Karen Bradley family built this home for their use. As the kids have grown up and no longer use it as much, it is now time to share our vacation home with others. We live in Tucson Az but have deep roots in this area.
Why the Owner Chose Dolores:
This home is very comfortable for use by extended families and couples vacationing together. Although located in a rural area, it is close to many popular attractions including Mesa Verde National Park, Durango and Telluride. It is close enough to be a hub for visiting other nearby attractions including The Grand Canyon National Park, Arches National Park, Zion and Bryce National Park and several others. The house and its location make it an ideal base for exploring SW Colorado, SE Utah, NE Arizona and NW New Mexico. Summer activities are great including fishing, hiking, mountain biking, or just relaxing on the deck. In the Fall, the colors will astound you. Winter time is play time in the snow. The Telluride Ski area is only a 45 minute drive away, for some of the best snow skiing and snowboarding in the country. Sledding, sitting by the fire and hot tubing are also great winter activities. If you really want to get away and spend time with family and friends, this is the place.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
The home allows for a comfortable stay, so you can relax and set your own schedule. Fully modern, it has all of the conveniences of home, but in a wonderful rural mountain environment.
