We stayed here this past fall to enjoy the fall colors. It turned out to be an amazing, relaxing weekend. This home had an upscale cozy cabin feel, but with all the amenities from home. There is a ton to do in the area for outdoor enthusiasts, but we just went for a break from the city. We cooked, watched football, and enjoyed the peace and quiet. Excellent mountain getaway. We can't wait to go back!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, pet owners, age 55+, girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thank you for the great review! So glad you enjoyed your stay and look forward to having you again!

We thought this mountain home was gorgeous! The kitchen is well supplied for making nice meals, the beds are comfortable, furnishings very nice. We loved our time there. My son loved watching March Madness on the bog screen TV and we all enjoyed an afternoon of snowshoeing nearby!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with young children, pet owners, age 55+, girls getaway, adventure seekers.
Owner response: Thank you so much for the great review. Always glad to hear that people love it as much as we do. So glad you and your family have a great time. Thanks again.

Directions easy to follow; driveway to house well maintained even without 4 wheel drive; house is very well maintained and tastefully, comfortably furnished as shown in listing; we were warm and cozy whole time; easily sleeps 8 with full bathroom on each of 3 floors; beautiful floor to ceiling windows with great view of woods and mountain; everything was clean; quick drive to Fairplay for essentials and beautiful 25 mile drive to Breakenridge a lovely tourist town, our dogs thoroughly enjoyed easy hiking around property; owner very likeable, answers any questions and easy to access. I would strongly recommend this property with these few possible drawbacks: inside or outside stairs to main floor with living room and kitchen steep but has handrails, does have good television reception but only a few channels so bring DVDs, water is fine but does have odor so could bring own drinking water. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property! We have used VRBO 4 years of Christmas stays and this was the very best.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, pet owners, age 55+, girls getaway, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thank you for the very nice review. We are so glad you enjoyed the place as much as we do. We do have Direct TV with over 100 channels and we have "regenerated" the water system to mitigate the slight sulphur smell. Thanks again!

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2007
About the owner: Hi there! Jeff and Mary Jo here, we lived in Colorado from 1999 - 2012. Due to job change, we have moved to Minnesota. We bought the mountain place as second home in 2007 - new, so we are first/only owners. We added the walk in level bed/bath/living in 2009. Married, no kids, one spoiled dog named Ginger (Boston Terrier). We have had so many great times up at the mountain home - we hope you do to. If you have any questions/concerns, please call me directly . We do not use an agency - it's just us.
Why the Owner Chose Fairplay:
We searched for a mountain get away for many years. We landed on this property and the Fairplay area because it was within 2 hours from Denver, a true get away (you are in the mountains, not in a city in the mountains), yet easy access to small town charm of Fairplay and a short drive to Breckenridge. It's simply a beautiful area with Silver Heels Mountain Range, South Platte River, open ranges to thick forests.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
Bright, light open concept with beautiful log accents. Comfortable. Awesome views of mountains and forest from being on the ridge line.
