  My wife and I stayed at this wonderful cottage that oozes character. Its extremely comfortable and located very well - close to town but also close to the trails, water holes and waterfalls. The street is quiet I couldn't hear other people or their dogs. I haven't slept this well in years. The house was clean, everything worked and I will recommend this place to my friends

  Our family stayed several days here and loved everything. The house is large beautiful clean and comfortable. The setting is ideal, nestled among redwood trees with a stream running through the property. We took walks into the wonderful town of Mill Valley which had great restaurants and shops and took several scenic hikes that start at the front door. we were sad to leave and can't wait to return. Highly recommend

  This house far exceeded our expectations! It was super clean, tastefully done, elegant yet casual,natural and gorgeous. Our family loved every minute we spent here and every square inch was really beautiful. The windows and sky lights, vaulted ceilings, open floor plan and simple uncluttered decor make such a lovely fresh feeling inside. The creek just outside lulls you to sleep. The huge redwoods surround the whole place making for absolute peacefulness. Everything is perfectly maintained. Beds were so comfortable, bathrooms and kitchen newly renovated, top quality appliances, lots of space for our family of 8. Just outside the door are fantastic hiking trails, paths to walk. Milly Valley town square is such a pleasant stroll. Everyday we enjoyed something new, from San Francisco, Napa Valley, Pt. Reyes, Sausalito, Muir Woods, hiking to the top of Mt. Tam...each day was so special and coming home to this fantastic house was exceptional! The owner was so nice and enjoyable to talk to. She made the booking go very smoothly and made us feel so very welcome. I can't say enough about this place....my family is talking about going back already!!!

  My family and I had a small reunion at this home. We enjoyed the house immensely. The large windows allowed us to feel like we were outside in the woods and it was very calming. We also enjoyed the serenity of the neighborhood and the access to restaurants, hiking trails, etc. My brother loved it so much that he has booked another getaway at the house with his friends!

  Rarely do vacation houses look as good in real life as they do in the pictures. With Muir Cottage, that is not the case. Perfectly positioned just 20 minutes from San Francisco and moments away from Mill Valley's charming down town square, the cottage is the perfect family retreat. The beds are aappointed with lovely cotton bedding and quality mattresses and the furnishings comfortable and charming. The house was very clean. I would go back in a heart beat. I loved sleeping to the sounds of the creek that wrapped itself around the house. The towering red woods outside the windows were soothing to the soul. A wonderful family getaway.

  Excellent host that responded to our requests and very helpful with local knowledge of things to do. House was just like the pics and a very rewarding location in the woods. All items in great shape, and quality.

  We planed our daughter's christening in the Marin County area. It is such a lovely time of the year in Northern California. Our families came in from Arizona and Switzerland to join us. We rented this fabulous house for us, our two little daughters and my parents from Switzerland. The house was the perfect size and location: a very spacious and luxurious downstairs master with bathroom and walk-in closet for my parents, and two upstairs rooms (queen size and double twin beds) for us. The living/dining/kitchen area is beautiful and open, with an adjunction media/playroom off from the kitchen. The girls had space to play (there were puzzles and toys at the house!) while we were cooking and chatting in the kitchen area. This house feels like someone's home (and not a rental!) due to it's great interior design. We were a nice walk or quick drive to the MillValley town square and in close proximity to 101 to get to SF and day trips to Sausolito, Muir Woods, Stinson Beach and wine country. This house and location is perfect to explore the Marin County without being stuck in the city with little children. It is also perfectly equipped for toddlers: pack n'play, gates, stroller, tricycle, toys, plastic table ware. Being surrounded by redwoods and a stream of water, while sighting dears at dusk was magical! Thank you for letting us enjoy a wonderful week in sunny California!

  My experience with this property could not have been better. I felt so fortunate to have found this house to be ideal In every way. It was clean, well decorated, stocked with everything I needed and in a perfect location. I found places to hike nearby, and I walked to the town center where I found coffee shops, restaurants and book stores. I would like to compliment the owner for providing guests with a beautiful place to relax and enjoy the Mill Valley area.
