Year Purchased: 1905
Why the Owner Chose Dixon: Hillcrest Farm was established in 1905 when John Parkinson Starner and his bride Orpah Susan Faulders Starner purchased the farm; and, built the homestead in 1906. Our family homestead has been lovingly and carefully restored for a glimpse into the American farm life at the turn of the twentieth century.
The Starner-Stuff nine room homestead with original woodwork, parlor doors, dining room pass-through, and period antique furniture rests on 100 acres of farmland, woods, and rolling pasture with flowing creek; and, is the perfect setting for a Victorian country wedding, a relaxing get-a-way, and a romantic weekend.
Located just six miles north of President Ronald Reagan’s boyhood hometown of Dixon, Illinois, you can follow what your heart desires most at Hillcrest Farm – from strolling through the gardens, watching an awesome sunset, lying in the pasture behind the barn stargazing at the milky way, rocking on the front porch, reading, resting, relaxing – there are endless possibilities; and, the only blackberries you will find here are the ones in a pie cooling in the kitchen window!
