Like a breath of fresh air, the entry foyer opens to huge contemporary rooms with sweeping ceilings and walls of windows almost reaching the tree tops. The eye is instantly lead to almost unbelievable views of majestic mountains. Impressive design features include whole-tree cedar column supports for a centrally located floating loft and cat walk. Thoughtful use of natural materials seamlessly marry the interior and exterior of the home into the mountain environment offering guests a full mountain experience while being engulfed in luxury. Located in the Purcell Woods Close Loop, this home is ski in/out and ideal for friends and families.
The main floor of this property has two living rooms, one in the back and one in the front of the house, each with a fireplace (1 wood, 1 gas). The open-concept gourmet kitchen centrally located has granite counter tops, high-end appliances and located in the center island the stove is designed to impress. Floor to ceiling picture windows in both the front and back of the home offers great morning sunrises from the east and beautiful views to the west. 29 foot cedar logs extend from the main floor into the vaulted ceilings creating an expansive feeling to the home. The main floor bedrooms (2) (1 bedroom with a queen bed and 1 bedroom with 2 twin beds) are near the back along with a full bathroom and laundry room. Out back, the private hot tub awaits.
The top floor has a large master bedroom, en suite with shower, and a Jacuzzi tub. A catwalk leads to an open concept loft in the middle of the house which overlooks the main floor and has a queen size bed and a single day bed. Kicking Horse Mountain Resort is located high in the Dogtooth Range of the Purcell Mountains, 14 km above Golden, British Columbia. Surrounded by the towering peaks of two other mountain ranges – the Rockies and Selkirks – it is also close to six of Canada’s most spectacular National Parks: Banff, Jasper, Kootenay, Yoho, Glacier, and Mt. Revelstoke. Finding Kicking Horse isn’t hard if you know where to look. The resort is just 1.5 hours west of Banff (145 kilometers) and 2.5 hours west of Calgary (270 kilometers) on the Trans-Canada highway.

We thoroughly enjoyed our week at this beautiful home in Kicking Horse Mountain Resort! The layout is well thought out with lots of space for many to stay comfortably, and the numerous windows in the front and back give you amazing views of the mountains from almost anywhere in the house. The ski-in / ski-out is perfect and being on the hill allows for everyone to enjoy each day at their own pace. Great gourmet kitchen and a 50 inch TV Heated floors in the bathroom. The hot tub is really nice and felt great after skiing all day. Walking distance to restaurants/bars. The owners were so easy to work with and quick to respond!! Highly recommend!!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We stayed at this gorgeous Kicking Horse property for one week in February 2013. It has a very convenient ski in and ski out location. The owner has built an excellent boot and glove dryer that easily accommodated our 9 sets of boots at once! The views and furnishings are lovely and there is a well appointed and laid out kitchen. The property was very clean and well maintained. The owner is very helpful with advice and terms. We have used Vrbo many times and this home has been the best yet.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers.

The perfect ski in ski out vacation home. Has everything you need and more for a group or family ski vacation. Great location, we didn't have to leave the house if we didn't want to. Gorgeous lay out and great views with the ski hill at your back door. We couldn't have asked for more. We travelled with our 2.5 yr old, another couple and 2 other friends. There was plenty of room for everyone and the hot tub was the hi-lite at the end our ski day. Mary Beth was wonderful to deal with and answered all of our questions. She even gave us a heads up on a couple of things before we arrived so we wouldn't be caught off guard. We will definitely stay again.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

A group of us stayed here over New Years 2012 and had a wonderful time. Beautiful property and very well maintained. The property is one of the few truly ski-in/out homes at the resort. The owner was incredibly easy to deal with and communicated in a very timely manner.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with young children, sightseeing.

Had a great stay here. The house is amazing and the proximity to the mountain is perfect. The ski out lands right at the back door. Could almost ski right into the hot tub if you wanted to. We had a great time and are definitely planning return trip next year.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

Year Purchased: 2004
About the owner: My husband and I fell madly in love with Kicking Horse on our first visit in 2002. At that time all that was available was gondola and the Eagles Eye restaurant. Before we left Golden, BC we had purchased a lot and were one of the first families to build a home on the mountain. Kicking Horse is still relatively unknown and there are many days when my husband is the only other person I can see on the ski trail. With a 15 min gondola ride to the top of the mountain there are plenty of chutes, trees and open fields to keep you entertained. At the end of your ski day you can ski right up to the garage door and kick off your skis/snowboards. In the summer we find taking the gondola up to the top and hiking the ridges to be one of our favorite adventures along with a stop at the Eagles Eye for a gourmet lunch. We hope you enjoy our home and the mountain as much as we do!
