Creekside Log Cabin in Beautiful Secluded Setting 20 Min to Cleveland

The Ivy Cottage is our smallest and most affordable cabin. This 450 square foot two-story log cabin makes no concessions when it comes to comfortable furnishings and charm. It's got everything you need. This cabin is very popular with business travelers, couples, and small families. The downstairs bedroom has a double bed with a 19 inch flat screen TV, DVD player, and movie collection. Additional sleeping is available on two twin beds located in the loft, which is accessed by a ' ship's ladder '. The living room is small but is made very comfortable with 2 wing-back chairs, and one has an ottoman.
The kitchen has a table for two, stove/oven, single basin sink, toaster, microwave oven, coffee maker, and a small refrigerator that fits underneath the kitchen counter. The bathroom has a full size shower/tub combination with jacuzzi jets and a single basin sink. We believe that you will find the furnishings very pleasing right down to the hand carved kissing squirrels.
While cozy on the inside, a large deck wraps around two sides of the cabin and provides additional 'outdoor living space'. Just outside of your bedroom door you'll hear the sounds of the creek tumbling by on it's way to the Ocoee River. The deck features reclined bench seating positioned around a patio fireplace, and a table with 4 chairs for outdoor dining. Across the gravel driveway you'll see multiple flower gardens, a nice grassy field for sports, horse shoe pit, basketball court, and a creek for exploring.
It is about a 1 minute walk down to our riverside pavilion and swimming/fishing dock. Wildlife commonly seen are Great Blue Herrons, Kingfishers, wild ducks, bald eagles, river otters, and of course fish. We even saw a deer once swimming in the river!
We have been offering Ivy Cottage for nightly rentals for 18 years with plenty of repeat customers. Some of our previous guests comments for Ivy Cottage include 'One of the most beautiful peaceful places that we have ever been to...', 'This was one of the many great surprises my husband has given me over the years...', 'We had such a great time on our honeymoon! The Ivy Cottage cabin, fireplace, and atmosphere was an added touch to a stress free vacation. We can't wait to come back...', 'absolutely incredible! I was taken aback with the beauty and atmosphere of this cabin!', 'Total perfection in a small package'.

WOW! WHAT A WONDERFUL WEEK. THE CABIN WAS EXCEPTIONAL. THEY PAID CLOSE ATTENTION TO EVERY DETAIL TO MAKE OUR STAY GREAT. THE VIEW WAS WONDERFUL WITH THE CREEK RIGHT OFF THE DECK, THE CABINS WAS CENTRALIZED TO ALL THE ATTRACTIONS AROUND. THE OWNERS TOOK PERSONAL ATTENTION TO OUR SAFTY DURING ALL THE RAIN THAT CAME BEFORE WE GOT THERE, BY CALLING US TO TELL US ABOUT RISING WATER. THEY ARE JUST WONDERFUL PEOPLE. OUR NEXT TRIP TO THIS AREA WE WILL STAY THERE AGAIN. AND WILL RECCOMEND TO OTHERS THAT WOULD WANT TO GET AWAY TO A BEATUFUL, QUITE PLACE.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

Their description says it all. This place is great, I hope we can come back in the summer/fall time. This place had plenty of room for 3 adults, even their bigger places are not that expensive at all and look awesome. The views were great even with no leaves. We were so tempted by the copper fireplace out on the deck even with the temps around 40 with rain and fog.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: Thank you Gable. I hope that you are able come again, as there is so much to see and do around here.

Ivy Cottage reminds me of something from a fairy tale…a sweet little cabin tucked away in the woods, w/ a babbling creek running beside it. It has that sweet “welcome home” feel that everyone is looking for. The pictures are very accurate. It’s clean, well stocked, and you can tell that a lot of love has been put into it. The grounds are immaculate. I came across the web site while looking for a place to stay close to my sister for Thanksgiving. I read a lot of the guest comments in the books left from years past. It seems it has been a haven for those looking for peace and rest and refreshment. For parents who wanted to re-connect with their children, newlyweds just beginning their lives together and singles looking for a place to meditate and pray to seek direction for the next phase of their lives. For me, it gave me a chance to re-connect w/ a sister that I love very much. The cottage is everything that all of the previous reviews talk about, but I think the exceptional thing is how it molds and shapes itself to fulfill each families hopes and desires. It does give rest and peace and relaxation, and that only comes from the consideration and thoughtfulness of our hostand hostess. Thanks Kevin and Jenny! (and thank you ever so much for that little added something) :)Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

We stayed at the Ivy Cottage in June, on our way to North Carolina for camp. The grounds were so beautiful with the many flowers and the cabin was just perfect. The children enjoyed playing horse shoes and sleeping in the loft of the cabin. There is a neat pavillion with a dock overlooking the river. It was centrally located and very close to the Ocoee River rafting companies and other rivers. There are also great hiking areas nearby. We will definitely go back to Welcome Valley Village and stay at the Ivy Cottage.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, romantic getaway.

My husband, our 13 yo son and I stayed in the Ivy Cottage for just one night; we were going rafting on the Ocoee the next morning. We love this place!!! The grounds and paths are very well maintained, the cabin; while very small is perfect for a short visit. Our son loved the loft and we all loved the porch and the creek running alongside it!We intend to come back for a longer stay. It is just lovely.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

My family and I loved the Ivy Cottage. The setting was so relaxing and everything you could possibly want and more was provided! I spent days online looking for a nice, yet relaxing home a way from home. We could not have been happier! We went Whitewater Rafting with Cascades Outdoors and had a thrilling, yet safe trip. We fished from the dock, walked the hiking trails and kicked back by a fire on our porch. Can't wait to return!! Look no further..Welcome Valley Village is the BEST!!!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 1994
About the owner: We are Kevin and Jenny Rogers. We are both Tennessee natives and graduates of the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. We have a 14 year old son who is just starting high school, two dogs, and two cats. We love the outdoors and have enjoyed sharing our beautiful Ivy Cottage cabin with guests for the past 18 years. This place was originally built as a riverside retreat by Jenny's late mother Warnie Elizabeth Dooly Finnell. She lived and worked in Cleveland, and came here to rest and play.
Why the Owner Chose Cleveland:
Cleveland is convenient to the beautiful Ocoee Region which is a great place to visit. The Cherokee National Forest is just 10 minutes away where we enjoy kayaking, hiking, backpacking, swimming, and mountain biking. We enjoy floating from the Ocoee Dam to our property in the summer. When we feel like a little city life we travel about 40 minutes to Chattanooga where we can enjoy shopping, great restaurants, the TN Aquarium, music and art festivals, University of Tennessee events, minor league baseball games, scenic river cruises, and so much more. Also, Lee University is just 20 minutes away in Cleveland and hosts numerous cultural and sporting events.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
The best thing about Ivy Cottage is that it so dang cute. Round logs, exposed rafters, unique construction, a 'ships ladder' to the loft where 2 twin beds are built into the sloping roof, wide plank floors, and tastefully decorated, and that's just the inside. Step out of the master bedroom onto a deck full of amenities, and the sounds of a creek tumbling by below. Some of our guests enjoy the simple beauty of their cabin and surroundings, rarely leaving our property. Have a campfire on the patio, read, tell stories or just listen to the night sounds. We have 17 wooded acres where you can take a stroll, cast a line for trout or bass, turn over rocks in the creek to find salamanders, take a swim in the river, or just watch it roll by from a dock chair. Ivy Cottage is just 20 minutes from Cleveland and perfect for those who don't want to stay in a hotel or hear 'city sounds' in the evening. There is absolutely no comparison! Check us out. I like going to the 'Big' city of Cleveland, but I'd rather sleep here at Ivy Cottage.
