Enjoy this beautiful vacation getaway in Rio Del Mar, California! Take a short 2 minute walk from your beautiful home down to the beach and quaint stores of Rio Del Mar.
This 1,750 square foot home is perfect for one or multiple families, girl or guy friend getaways, or any combination of friends. It sleeps a total of 6 in the 3 very large bedrooms and as an added bonus all of the beds and furnishings are brand new to make your stay comfortable. We will allow up to 10 people sleeping in the home as there are aerobeds available. The bedrooms all have attached balconies for quiet outdoor relaxation. The living room has a see-through fireplace that looks into the dining room. Gather around the dining room table and enjoy a nice fire for a cozy game night. The newly remodeled kitchen with its granite counter tops and stainless steel appliances will be a pleasure for those of you who like to cook. There are 2 1/2 bathrooms and an outdoor shower for washing off the sand from a day at the beach. There is a large washer, dryer, and sink in the laundry room for your convenience.
Outside, there is a large, private hot tub with romantic lighting. The main deck, covered with an open latticed lanai, has a gas barbecue and large outdoor table for your entertainment needs. On chilly nights you can gather around an outdoor firepit for drinks and conversation. Next to all of this is an elegant Japanese rock garden with a small arched bridge in one corner.
You can walk on miles of uninterrupted white, sand beaches where you catch views of seals, otters, dolphins and ocean birds. Hiking in old growth redwoods is literally 5 minutes away. Biking is possible all over the area. You are only minutes away from the famous Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, the downtown arts and crafts galleries, the Santa Cruz Surfing Museum, and, of course, the surfers. You can head over to Seascape Golf Course and play 18 holes or even bike up Braille Trail for fun. It's a very quick drive to the villages of Capitola, Aptos and Soquel for other great restaurants and fun shopping. Monterey and Carmel are only 40 minutes south.

This is the second time I've stayed at this home; both times for weekend getaways with my "inner circle" of women friends. It is a perfect spot for leisurely meals, long chats over cups of morning coffee or evening wine, a good night's sleep and endless outdoor activities for those so inclined. Our interest in checking out any of the local restaurants waned as we sat by the fire pit talking and drinking wine, and we opted for cooking in. There is not a single thing that should be changed in this house. It is spotless and perfectly appointed with tasteful furnishings, beds that are outstandingly comfortable and every convenience provided. When we did venture onto the beach for long walks, we were treated to sightings of pods of dolphins swimming by. It is clear that the owners have created a space that they can enjoy as a getaway spot for themselves, not just as a rental unit, which adds to the charm, comfort and ease of relaxing in this house. We have already discussed finding a date for our next "girls' weekend" away here; we know there's no need to look any further.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

We had a wonderful time at the Aptos beach house. The house is beautifully decorated and very comfortable. The home didn't feel like a rental property at all. The owners didn't miss a single detail when it came to relaxation. We loved the hot tub and the fire pit. We were pleasantly surprised that the beach was so close. In fact so close it was an easy walk for our 6 and 8 year old. We would definitely stay at this house again. It's a winner!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
