We spent alot of time researching before selecting Villa Destiny, and we were pleasantly surprised to find it was even better than we expected. The villa has a perfect location, away from the crowds, but only 15 minuites from great restaurants and beach bars. The villa sits on top of a high sand dune, providing fantastic views of powdery white sand beach and crystal turqoise water from every room. The layout of the villa worked really well for our group. There was enough distance between the bedrooms to give lots of privacy, all three were absolutely oceanfront with marvelous views, and all had large spacious bathrooms. We really enjoyed the villa lifestyle, and being able to cook for ourselves. The gourmet kitchen is extremely well equiped. There is also a large gas BBQ grill, which we used frequenty for grilling steaks and lobster. We ate almost all of our meals on the huge deck overlooking the beach. It felt really secluded, private, and relaxing, and provided our own personal beach, since rarely did we see anyone else on the beach. Most mornings we would take a long walk on the powdery white sand and beachcomb for exotic treasures. Two large coral heads teaming with hundreds of fish are easy snorkels in front of the villa. The afternoons were spent lying in the lounges at the waters' edge, dangling our toes in the water with a margarita in our hand, while enjoying the gorgeous view. Watching the sunsets each evening with a cocktail in hand was probably our favorite. We would all gather on the rooftop terrace, and see if we could see the green flash. Never did, but we still loved the fabulous view looking out over the lagoon with its many islands. Stargazing while lying on one of the lounges on the rooftop was magnificent as you didn't have all the city lights to detract. There was also a glass bottom kayak that was fun to take out and explore the canals and islands in the lagoon, and see all the birds, including the ospreys or water eagles. We also walked the 400 yards down to Cesiak and took one of their boat tours of the river trade route used by the ancient Mayans. Trip highlights were seeing the diversity of flora and fauna in the Sian Ka'an, including a couple of manitee. Another plus for the villa was the computer and internet phone, which allowed us to receive calls and call home at no cost. Beautiful accomodations and an absolutely stunning view - what more could you ask for? It was paradise!Recommended for: Families with young children, pet owners, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, age 55+, girls getaway.

My family and I just rented this place in October for a week, and it was awesome!! We had 6 adults and two infants. My husband and I stayed in the blue room with our two infants. The house is nice, as there is a main section that includes the master bed and bath/living/dining/kitchen/laudry/etc. and then there are two other rooms with bathrooms that are separate and connected by the back deck. So, you can stay there with family, but have your own space. There was a refrigerator and coffee maker in the blue room, so we could have drinks at night and coffee in the morning on the deck without disturbing anyone. And there was plenty of room to set up the pack n' play in the room for the babies. Because we had family coming from several different places and small children, we were looking for a place that we could literally just move in and stay for the week, which is what we did. We hit the grocery store on the way down and bought most of what we needed for the week. There is a fully-equipped kitchen and BBQ grill, and we ate most of our meals at the house. We did venture down a couple of nights to some restaurants nearby, and they were great. Can't remember the names now, but they all had outside seating on the beach. We went to a place called Playa Azul one afternoon and watched kiteboarders. We spent most of our days just relaxing on the beach or on the deck, though. There is hardly anyone on the beach. You can stay down there for hours and not see anyone. We also went down to Cesiak one day and took a boat tour of the canals. The water is just really incredible and everything is so pristine. The whole area is a biosphere, so most places are powered by windmill and solar, including Villa Destiny. There is a back-up generator, of course, so you never lose power, but just so neat!! Plus, there is air-conditioning!! We found this a nice plus, as several homes in Mexico do not have this! This worked very well for my family to be able to get together and just relax. The place had gorgeous views from all sides of the house, as there is the ocean on one side and the lagoon on the other. We watched sunsets most nights from the rooftop deck. If you are looking for a place to go relax, this is the best I have found!! There are nearby activities like boating and kayaking tours, yoga, kiteboarding, etc., but we didn't want to leave the beach in front of the house! :)Did you find this review helpful? There is no word to describe how we loved this stunning property. We stayed there for 5 days, way too short stay, but that was definitely enough to fall in love with the place. We loved the location, very private but lots of little restaurants at driving distance. The house itself is impressive, well-appointed and beautifully decorated, modern, and above all completely self-sufficient. Everything is made to make your life easy! You can't escape the stunning views of the gulf of Mexico. Every room in the house looks over spectacular turquoise water. The garden is very well kept with so many different plants. Walk outside your bedroom go down the stairs and find yourself on one of the most pristine beaches I’ve ever seen. Every morning was a joy to wake up and run down for a swim. Although there is a huge flat screen TV the best programming came from above ?… Looking from the rooftop at the stars. We brought lots of things thinking we might need them, no need, the house is fully equipped, everything you need for cooking and barbecue is there. The service is at the house's level; perfect. The owners, Patrick & Gene, a genuine lovely couple, make things happen your way, they really cared about what we wanted and how, they provide a personalized and very professional customer service. You will enjoy your stay at “Villa Destiny”, no doubt, and you will also enjoy feeling welcomed. Unfortunately, like every good thing in life, an end will come and I have to say it is hard to leave this place. We have decided to come back every year. We think any excuse is good enough to spoil ourselves again!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

We have just returned from a perfect week in Villa Destiny. The house is right on the beach, which is in the Sian Ka'an, a federal nature reserve, so the beaches are almost completely empty, with blue sky, turquoise water, and white sand as far as the eye can see. But despite the secluded location Villa Destiny has everything you would expect from a modern house. The kitchen is equipped with every appliance you could possibly want, there is wireless internet, hot water galore, a BBQ, comfortable beds - even oversized hot tubs with massage jets. One of my favorite memories from the week was having a massage by a woman recommended by Gina, one of the owners of Villa Destiny. The therapist brought her own table, set up in the middle room, and gave me one of the best massages of my life. The crashing surf outside provided welcome accompaniment, and because the therapist doesn't have to pay any commission it cost half of what you would pay anywhere else on the beach. The house is exactly like the pictures and description say it is. There are lots of outside chairs, and hammocks on the roof, and beach chairs on the beach. Cesiak restaurant is a short walk along the beach (north), and the drive to other Tulum restaurants is easy now that the road has been re-graded. The Sian Ka'an has to be experienced to be believed. We walked for over an hour and saw only five other people on the beach (two of them had gone out of their way for a bit of privacy - nudge, nudge, wink, wink). The best thing about Villa Destiny is that you can experience the beauty of the Sian Ka'an without sacrificing your creature comforts. I highly recommend it for large groups (up to six adults), parents with children, and anyone looking for a bit of luxury while enjoying the basic pleasures of sun, sea and surf. Oh, one other thing. We were staying in the Blue Room at Villa Destiny, and had the most perfect view of the sunrise from our bed - if I could attach a picture I would, because we took a great photo of it. But for now, you'll just have to imagine it.Recommended for: Families with young children, people with disabilities, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, age 55+, girls getaway.
