This lovely two bedroom home is located in the Columbia Neighborhood, well situated for walking or biking your way through Bellingham. The house itself has two bedrooms, both outfitted with queen sized beds and the bedroom has a refinished claw foot bathtub and shower. The yard is large and comfortable. Fell free to sit on the covered front porch to enjoy the sunset, or sit in the fenced back yard underneath a beautiful 80 year old clematis. There is plenty of storage for your things, and off street parking for two cars.
For those looking for a getaway where your car can be parked and you can walk to all of the attractions, this is the place. Elizabeth Park and Cornwall Park are both within easy walking distance, the grocery store is two blocks away and several restaurants are easily accessed by foot. If you are comfortable walking up to a mile, you can easily make it to the downtown core and enjoy all of the restaurants and shopping there. If you have your bicycle, you can take the trail to Whatcom Falls Park, the Interrurban trail to boulevard Park, Historic Fairhaven and beyond to Larabee Park.
The Elm St. Craftsman is a great jumping off place for your ski trip to Mt. Baker, world class mountain biking on Mt. Galbraith, paddling or water skiing on Lake Whatcom or paddling your kayak through scenic Bellingham Bay. It also just the place if you are visiting your kids at WWU, a new grandparent and need just a little space while visiting the grandchildren, or find yourself in from out of town for medical care at St. Joseph's Medical Center.
And the best news is that we are a dog friendly home!

This was such a nice place to stay in Bellingham! For us it was very convenient because it was close to family. It was a wonderful little home away from home and the amenities were great, the house was clean, the beds were cozy and comfy, and we loved that we could have our pup with us. Having Haggen's close by was also a plus. We've stayed in a lot of VRBO accommodations and this was one of the best! One of the highlights was the owner's prompt and easy communication. We will definitely stay again!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, families with young children, girls getaway.

We come to Bellingham every year with friends for the Bellingham marathon and we always rent a house. This has been our favorite house that we have stayed in. It was in a great location, reasonably priced, had two comfortable bedrooms with very comfortable beds and furnishings and it was adorable. We loved the off street parking, cute backyard, wireless internet, location, fireplace and windows and shades that opened from the top down. It was about a $15 cab ride into downtown, but could easily be walked or biked. The owner was extrememly professional and easy to work with and had quick responses. We highly recommend staying in this great house!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

My daughter and I spent 2 nights (wish it had been longer!) in October. The cottage is charming, well-equipped and was spotless. It's on a quiet residential street, but within walking distance to an excellent grocery store (Haggen's) and several restaurants (we recommend El Amiga for great Mexican food). We also found it convenient to Bellis Fair Mall and downtown/waterfront areas (slightly > 1 mile) The owner was great to deal with. I would definitely stay here again, and recommend it to travelers to Bellingham.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

About the owner: I am a native northwesterner from Seattle originally and now find myself in beautiful Bellingham after a few years living on San Juan Island. I chose Bellingham as a place to settle as it is a small town that offers so much for the outdoor enthusiast, and when I need a big city fix, Vancouver Canada is only 45 minutes away.
Why the Owner Chose Bellingham:
I chose this house as I appreciate the quality of older homes and the smaller proportions of this home. I really love the ease of access to town by bicycle.
