Carolina Beach is the best kept secret for vacationers. Our stay was one of complete comfort surrounded by dolphins playing in the ocean, fantastic view from the front deck bedroom, living room and kitchen! We spend endless hours on the front deck sitting on the comfortable patio furniture while listening to the waves crash on shore and watching the seagulls diving for fish-not to mention dolphin watching. Your condo offers all the comforts of home. We loved the small details you offer. Two TV's linens, towels, all kitchen cooking supplies form an 8qt pot to a blender and mixer. The washer and dryer work better than my new ones at home! The master queen bed is sweet. I have a bad back and this mattress let me sleep well and in no pain. Every day was sunny and never missed a day at the pool or beach. We enjoyed all that Wilmington has to offer from excellent restaurants to visiting the historic sites. We are already planning a trip for next year to bring more family members here to experience all Carolina Beach has to offer. PS Loved the bucket full of goodies - it was a nice way to start our most memorable vacation!

What a great place you have here! We have lover our stay...from the moment we got here and saw your lovely goody basket until the easy departure, your place has felt like home to us. This rental is perfect for a family vacation. 2 large bedrooms each with it's own balcony, one on the oceanside, the other overlooking the canal/pool ( my favorite) - two different views wrapped up in one condo! The condo is older but well-built so no noise between the walls of the other units, quiet within each of the bedrooms with the door shut so the kids could be napping in one room, while watching movies in the other and you have privacy on the balconies between the units which was also nice. Lots of good VHS movies to select from at the condo too! The condo also has new carpet, new appliances and all the comforts of home. The bedding was great which came with all the linens needed including pillows, plus there is room in the living room area to spread out an additional palate or porta crib for the kids if needed. Again, this is an older condo but well kept overall and very clean. The pool area was nice with lots of chairs and some shaded corners with tables for those looking for a reprive from the sun. It also had grilling area with a couple of grills and picnic tables - we cooked out there twice and really enjoyed it!! The walk to the beach was extremely short with no steps or large sand dunes to get to the beach, however, one word of caution, since the condo is on the third floor and the parking is underneath the building, you literally have to walk up 4 flights of steps to get to the condo, so this rental would not be appropriate for the elderly or anyone with bad knees, My legs/knees got a workout while there! This is a great rental for the value and if you dont mind not being directly on the beach, this is the next best thing! Jill, the owner was extremely helpful and answered all of my questions and even left a nice gift basket for us upon our arrival which was a very nice touch! Rent this condo with confidence!!!

This condo is great. The views are awesome. We slept with the sliding glass door open every night to listen to the ocean it was so relaxing! We had a great time! And this was a great way to spend our first week as husband and wife! We did not venture far from the condo. We enjoyed walking and laying out on the beach, looking for seashells, sitting on the balconies and lounging in the condo. The condo has such a great location. We walked a lot of places and enjoyed eating at the local restaurants. We also enjoyed the pool area; it was quite relaxing. We enjoyed every day that we were here and wanted for nothing. Watched TV, played games, hung out and relaxed. I had never heard of Carolin Beach but I truly love it.As we are here before the summer rush, it was quiet and not many people around. This was also my husband's first trip to the beach so it was cute watching get into the ocean for the first time! Overall, we had a great time an dwe have discussed coming back for our 1st anniversary.

We had a great stay at the beach. It rained quite a bit and the temperatures were on the chilly side, but we took more time exploring Wilmington. We love that city! We also explored Carolina Beach State Park, rode the ferry over to Southport, and visited the Cape Fear Museum. Friday, the sun was out and we spent hours at the beach. The kids had a great time and were sorry to say goodbye to the ocean and the beach. Karen and I liked the condo and found it very comfortable. We settled in in no time and were also sorry to have to pack up and head north. Thanks again, Jill, for having us as guests. We hope we can stay again sometime in the future.

Just wanted to let you know that the time I have spent here has been very relaxing. The view is awesome...when I look at the ocean it reminds me that our God is BIG! Our troubles are small to Him. We are His most prized creation. The same God who created the ocean created us! It leaves me in awesome wonder - Today I'm moving back home. It is a bittersweet day. I will miss being here but can't wait to be back in my home. I'm sorta happy in a way that our home caught fire - sick right? “We all thoroughly enjoyed our time at your condo! It is a wonderful place in a great location. The ocean was great, the beach was very clean and hardly anybody else was there! We spent most mornings at the beach, came back and rinsed off downstairs at the shower (very handy) and cooled off in the pool, which was also great! Patrick enjoyed the boogie board, and the closet was great to store our beach stuff so we didn’t have to lug it up and down the stairs. We enjoyed the town, shopping, eating, sight-seeing, and the Aquarium. Thanks so much for getting the dryer fixed so quickly. The repairman was very nice and had the whole thing fixed in under an hour. Hurricane Earl was no big deal. That day we spent inside and on the front deck watching the waves (10-12’) and feeling the warm wind blow (+/- 40mph) – not really bad and certainly not a deterrent to our vacation! If you are looking for an affordable clean place with terrific views, look no further. This condo is perfectly located on Carolina Beach; it’s about a half hour to Wilmington and 10 mins to the Fort Fisher area. There is a large balcony with table/chairs in the front with ocean views or you can sit on the other balcony off the back and watch boats on the canal. Even though this rental is second row, the house in front of this 3rd story condo is a small single story which gives an unblocked view of the ocean! Beach access is two houses down, a very short walk, and there are no large sand dunes to climb. The beach has recently been redone and it’s nice to walk out and play in the waves. I did not swim but from what I saw there is no sudden drop-off for those with children. For those seeking shells, most of what I came across were small or broken pieces. There are plenty of places to park, when we visiting we were able to park underneath the units which is near the stairs and shaded. If you have bikes, bring them – this is a perfect place to ride around and visit the boardwalk. The inside of condo is not new but very well kept and clean. The air conditioner worked well, we had one day in May that was very humid and over 90! The entertainment equipment was fine and the wireless connection for my laptop was a nice bonus. Towels and sheets were also a nice plus. I celebrated my birthday during my visit and our generous hosts not only provided a yummy bucket of treats, but a birthday cake as well! For things to do I highly recommend touring the Wilmington historic district in the horse drawn carriage, seeing the Bellamy Mansion, taking a Cape Fear river tour on the “Solomon T,” and visiting the Ft. Fisher Aquarium. The only downside to this rental might be for older visitors or those with physical disabilities – walking up the flights of stairs might be a real challenge for some. The place is amazing - we had so much fun. The bottle of wine was a big surprise (Katelyn loved it.) The first night we ate at Havana's. The seafood was really good. All day Friday we were on the beach and I got a little too much sun. I couldn't help but fall asleep since the weather was so nice. I have never come to a beach house where we didn't have to buy things like dish soap and toilet paper. It was already here so I was sure to leave some for the next guests. Thank you so much, again.

This is a wonderful space to relax and enjoy the sounds of the ocean. Yesterday and today we have had the privilege of seeing MANY dolphins play...a pod of them seem to be hanging around...it is both delightful and breathtaking to watch. There is a flurry of activity nearby with construction on a building. It looks like a 2nd floor is being added and we are watching the siding going up! God Bless!

Jill & family! Thank you so much for sharing your condo with us this week! Our 5 & 7 year old had a wonderful time. Even with rain and cooler temperatures most everyday, the children felt at home and was content to be at the condo. They even wanted to just get food and go back to the condo to eat. They were thrilled with the basket,books, games and puzzles which was a great beginning to our vacation. Everything was so comforting from the living area ammenities, the close easy access to the beach, being able to do laundry :o) , to the beds in which we all got a peaceful nights rest each night. I will most certainly suggest your condo to anyone coming in that area. Knowing now that your condo is there, I don't plan on waiting another 13 years to visit Carolina Beach! Thank you helping make our 19th year anniversary and family vacation a wonderfully pleasant stay!

We had a blast! The weather was hot but beautiful, the condo was perfect, the beach was perfect, and the pool was perfect. We even made some new friends who invited us over for crabs on Saturday evening. We met them in the pool one afternoon, discovered we were all from Maryland and hit if off. The gift basket was awesome - we came to a quick halt as soon as we walked in the door and dug through it like a bunch of little street urchins scrounging for pennies, "Oooh, look at this! Swimmies! Wine! Cookies! Yaaaay!" :-) It's a great way to start a vacation. We took the kids to the aquarium this year and to the Children's Museum in Wilmington. Both are terrific. John and I took the ferry over to Southport - very nice little town. I had shrimp 'n grits at a restaurant called "Fishy-Fishy." Would definitely recommend both as I'm practically drooling thinking about it. Thanks for putting the lattice along the bottom of the deck rail in front. That little extra bit of security is reassuring. OK, I can't think of anything else to tell you, except, "curse you for hi-liting Britts donuts in your restaurant book!" ;-) - they are soooooo good! We made several "Britts runs." Thanks again for sharing your lovely beach home with us.

Thanks so much to the Hunters having such a super place by the beach for us to enjoy time with family. We loved all the amenities that were in the condo; we lacked for nothing. The weather was beautiful except on Wednesday, when it rained. But that gave our bodies a rest and gave us time to do the aquarium and a 1000 piece puzzle. The pool was terrific to go to after all day at the beach. We went to several restaurants that were highlighted in the dining guide. Our favorite was Michael's. The Thursday night fireworks were an added bonus for an evening's entertainment. Thanks for your hospitality and the basket greetings and note. It's a lovely beach. The Fosnaughts and Calderwoods

I just want to let you know about our wonderful vacation week at your condo. We had a great time and the children (3 1/2 and 2) became devoted beach babies. By the end of the week they were going under the waves and standing knee deep with no fear. We were fortunate and had great weather all week. We loved your place. It was comfortable and cozy and was plenty roomy even when there were 6 of us a couple of nights. The kids loved the pool, too, even though we didn't use it that much. By the time we finished at the beach we were all pooped. We used the front deck constantly. It was big enough for the kids to run around and enjoy themselves and we all had fun watching the fishing boats in the morning and the pelicans all during the day. I set up chairs and beach towels and the children had "tents" that kept them busy for hours. John and I kept our sliding door open at night and fell asleep to the sound of the waves. I slept easier than I have in months. The welcome basket was a nice touch! The kids really enjoyed all the toys and coloring books and crayons. I especially enjoyed the Butterfingers (my favorite). We tried to leave the house as we found it and I hope it was satisfactory. I've stayed in larger houses at the beach up in the outer banks but I told my husband that I enjoyed this past week more and was more comfortable in your place than anywhere we've ever stayed. We would love to come back again. Thanks for everything.

Just wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed the condo. We had plenty of room and the place was extremely well stocked! We had so much fun at the beach and in the pool. We spent most of the day at the beach, in the water, but it was so nice to get in the pool for a couple hours every afternoon. The weather was perfect and the water was warm! We swam like fish and turned into little salty prunes! I had wonderful, quality time with my grown kids; we had a fabuous reunion. We went out on the party boat and danced ourselves silly---that was so much fun! Thanks again for being such a gracious owner and for letting us stay at your beach home. Your place is wonderful! I don't think we have ever had a prettier view of the beach, and the canal out the back windows was a wonderful bonus! Your condo is clean and pleasant, and you had so many nice 'extras'...the basket was amazing, and since I arrived with a sore throat, I found the chicken soup and the popsicles a real treat! You also had ibuprofen and cough syrup...very thoughtful items! The front porch is the absolute BEST...wow...did we all LOVE it out there! It captures not only the great view, but a great breeze and the sound of the waves...as if they are right at our feet!!!! It is utterly amazing up there! And the quiet was everything you had promised.... I miss it and want to be there now, believe me! The pool is beautifully clean - once my kids figured out the combination to the lock! Thank you so much for sharing your lovely beach home with us. It was everything you said and so much more!! On Monday, we saw a rainbow over the ocean from the private deck. On Tuesday, we watched our kids and the porpoises frolic in the ocean. We've enjoyed family time with the added bonus of our UNC-W student being able to pop in and out, but at the same time, the kids have felt a sense of privacy. We LOVED the 2 balconies with the two different water views. It was a special surprise that we were able to wake up and watch the sunrise right from the master bed!! All the touches that the owner provided (from a welcome surprise to linens,cleaning supplies and paper products to beach chairs and boogey boards) made it an easy, wonderful vacation. This felt much more like house sitting for family than a business transaction with a stranger thousands of miles away!! We sure hope we can come back again and again and again. We'll be telling all of our friends about this place.

What a fabulous vacation we've had! Your place was a dream for us both. We relaxed by the beach. I can't believe how beautiful the weather was each day. Warm sun, waves crashing, cool breeze...lots of smiles. The deck was positioned just right, not too close nor too far away, a beautiful view as well. Each day I woke up and took my towel to the deck, resting until Matt awoke, I loved it. We couldn't have asked for a better honeymoon. Thank you, again, for letting us make your lovely condo at the beach our home for a few days.

We arrived very late Sunday - it was quite dark and we had no sense of where we were. You can imagine our delight when we awoke Monday morning and caught our first glimpse of the ocean. I'm sure it's always lovely, but it was a special thrill for three midwestern girls from Illinois. We found that the area offered plenty to do when we were looking to be active, and there were several options for those times we wanted to relax. We feel so lucky to have had the opportunity to share your beach house.
