Charming 1 BR 1 Bath with terraced garden
Charming 1913 Victorian retreat with secluded entrance and private garden just steps from beautiful downtown Sausalito...
Enter from the street through a long canopy of roses to your arbored terrace entrance. The terracotta flagstone patio is surrounded by ferns, hydrangeas, fuchsia and roses. The terrace opens onto a Pied a Terre with vintage French doors. Feel as if you are in the South of France as you enter and are greeted with warm French stone floors and a charming sitting room adorned with antiques and tastefully upholstered furniture.
Proceed into an bright kitchen featuring a vintage Wedgewood stove and antique English farm table and chairs. Whether cooking a feast or warming local bread you will have everything you need in this gourmet kitchen, including high end cookware, china, and utensils.

We had a wonderful stay in Saulsalito. Carolyn was so helpful and wanted to make sure we had a good time. The place was so cute and perfect for the 3 of us. It is within walking distance of many things in Sausalito including the ferry. We did not rent a car and took the ferry into San Francisco everyday. It was very easy. It was easy to take the Marin Airporter from the airport and get a cab to the apartment. We took a cab back to the airport the difference in price was minimal and it was much more convenient. Would recommend this apartment highly.Recommended for: Age 55+, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing, tourists without a car.

Carolyn's property is a gem. It is located on a quiet street of Sausolito, yet steps away from everything. The house is just what it looks like in the pictures. The garden is an unbelievable oasis. Carolyn called us a couple days before we came to make sure we had all the info on the property. Before we arrived, she also left us an inflatable bed for my daughter to sleep on (there were three of us total). We were welcomed with fresh artisan bread, oatmeal, organic milk and butter, starbucks coffe and all kinds of tea. She even had a little welcome note for us. Parking was not a problem. We had a lovely stay dreaming of coming back again. Thank you Carolyn.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, tourists without a car.

We had a wonderful time staying in this extremely charming and convenient condo. Carolyn was very helpful along the way - from the extra air mattress to even getting us milk and bread before our arrival! We have two small children (6, 3) and having the extra space of a small living room the beautiful outdoor patio and a small washer dryer made our stay here so much better than the 4 star hotel we stayed at for the rest of our trip downtown. Not to mention, Sausalito is the perfect place to stay in SF - easy to downtown via ferry but also an easy 20 minute drive to mill valley, muir woods, etc. I highly recommend this for small families as an alternative to hotel living.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children.

Carolyn, the owner, is very welcoming, helpful and provides useful information to visitors. The lisitng accurately describes the location; it is centrally located and the ferry to SF, restaurants and stores are within walking distance. It is a very easy to drive to places such as Tiburon (if possible, take the ferry from there to Angel Island which has spectacular views of SF Bay), Muir Woods and other Marin County sites. Even though the property is in a closely built residential neighbor hood, one feels secluded. The walkway and terrace are delightful with hydrangas and other marvellous plantings. The apartment is small, clean, well maintained and organized, with lovely linens, an extremely well supplied kitchen should you wish to cook any meals. Although it is underneath and to the side of a house, it is very quiet. Sam, the cat, is very docile, sleeps a lot, does not roam and enjoys the terrace. The property is on a hill and Carolyn will provide a special parking permit to allow parking in an area where parking is at a premium. A delightful and unique spot! Sausalito has many restaurants - to name just a few, Fish, the Trident, Bocce Bar.Recommended for: Age 55+, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, tourists without a car.
Owner response: Thank you for your kind response, especially remembering my cat Sam. He had many adventures and fun on the property, but now resides off-site in my personal home away from the vacation rental. Travelers can still see his cute face in some of my pictures, but for the courtesy of our travelers who may suffer from allergies, he has retired from the rental property :) I'd love to have you back any time!

The two of us stayed for 5 nights in this very comfortable place. Everything about the site is well reflected in the photos and description. The owner was extremely helpful in answering questions and providing information. We enjoyed the beautiful setting with large patio, the privacy, the wonderfully set up kitchen (we cooked in all 5 nights). We loved the proximity to the main streets of Sausalito, and the fact that we were in a very quiet, off the tourist path, neighborhood. We recommend for coffee lover's the experience of "Philz Coffee" at the end of the block, our favorite place to take a break. We felt the this was very convenient to Pt Reyes area, getting to Berkeley via Richmond Bridge, and hiking around Fort Baker 2 miles away. The Sausalito to SF ferry is within walking distance. Be sure to check out the amazing Hardware store 2 blocks way, a real treasure amidst small tantalizing restaurants.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My sister, niece and I spent 2 delightful nights at Pied a Terre. The space is remarkable indoors and out. Carolyn was extremely accommodating and went so far as to purchase an air mattress so that the three of us could stay comfortably. It was delightful walking up the garden path, and we loved discovering new plants and touches in the garden each time we went outside. The attention to detail from the silk bedspread and pillows to fresh cream in the fridge for our French Pressed coffee were impeccable. The decor included a collection of kitchen and decorative objects, many of them interesting, "mid-century antiques" that were unique as well as functional. The bathroom was contemporary and spotless. We had a parking spot in front of the house. I think the living room couch could only be a comfortable bed for a child, however this cozy space is a great deal at an affordable price. We also elected for Sam, Carolyn's gentle giant cat, to stay with us. He made no demands on us and we enjoyed his company. The location is great. The property was close to shops and restaurants as well as easily accessible to the waterfront and ferry. We had easy access to San Francisco as well as the Muir Woods and Marin Headlands.Recommended for: Age 55+, pet owners, girls getaway, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, tourists without a car.

I needed a suite to stay as I relocated to the Bay Area. I rented this charming suite for two weeks and could not have been happier. The suite is beautifully appointed. Gorgeous period furniture, lighting, and beautiful nature light dapples each room. The kitchen has everything you need, granite counters, and Carolyn the owner provided dark roasted coffee, freshly made bread, organic milk and butter. A welcome addition for a weary traveler. The bed is sumptuous with high quality linens, down comforter the the occasional chilly night. Music selections, and cable TV make this stay your high end home away from home. The gardens attach to the suite with period french doors. Even though you are one block from downtown, sitting outside on the stone patio sipping your coffee makes you feel like you are secluded in a tropical paradise. The suite is sparkling clean and Carolyn the owner, is gracious, kind, helpful. She made wonderful recommendations for dinner in town, Bocce Bar, Wellingtons, are superb. Carolyn went over the top to be sure my stay was five stars. If you want to stay at the finest rental.... this is the place.Recommended for: Age 55+, pet owners, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, tourists without a car.
