Dennis was an 1800's era community located along Rock Creek between Ellijay and Chatsworth in North Georgia. Rock Creek is the major stream draining the south side of Fort and Cohutta mountains. It once provided needed power for a grist mill, blacksmith shed, and saw pit. Only the grist mill and beauty still remain.
A very pretty wet weather waterfall cascades off the mountain side. The creek is crystal clear and fresh out of the National Forest; you will enjoy fishing while the children splash and explore. The Pinhoti Trail is only a fourth mile away and leads all the way to the Appalachian Trail in Gilmer County.
The cabin is very family friendly - some antiques, some great art work, lots of books and magazines, a wonderful screened porch with a swing and comfortable chairs, and lots of places to relax!
It’s a wonderful place for a laid-back, relaxing break with (or maybe without) the kids! |
