We stayed at the property for my bachelorette weekend and it was perfect! The house is very roomy - the photos don't do it justice! There was plenty of space in the common areas so we could all hang out together. The house was well furnished and the beds were cozy. The location was great - it was super close and convenient to Magazine for us to pick up groceries or grab a bite to eat. It was close enough to walk and catch the streetcar to get wherever we needed. I highly recommend this place and plan to stay here next time I'm in NOLA.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, girls getaway.
Owner response: So glad you all had fun! Come back again soon!

We rented this house for a three day weekend trip to New Orleans for a Bachelorette party. We initially looked at hotels in the French Quarter, but decided to stay in a house in the Garden District so we could all be together. It actually ended up being cheaper for us to stay in the house! When we arrived, our first thought was how large and clean the house was! We were greeted outside by friendly neighbors in a very safe area. This location is perfect; we were able to walk to the street car, which can take you all over downtown New Orleans, including the market and French Quarter. We just got day passes for $3 per person and could ride the street car an unlimited amount of times until 4 a.m. the next day. This worked out well for our large group that would not fit in one taxi. Inside the house, there were plenty of "gathering" areas, including a large dining table and a high table which served great for meals and pregaming parties. These areas could easily accommodate all eight of us girls. There are plenty of restaurants, stores, and coffee shops in walking distance and made for great mornings where we could pick up coffee for everyone or walk to brunch. One morning, when we returned from brunch, we were greeted by homemade pralines from the neighbor - Shelia - and they were delicious! How friendly and thoughtful! The bathrooms and bedrooms were very neat and clean, and plenty of nice, fluffy towels were provided. There was even a iPod/iPhone dock so we could play music. This house was truly beautiful and amazing! We all plan on returning again next year and staying in this gem! This house truly made some beautiful and fun memories for all of us.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, girls getaway.
Owner response: I am so glad you had a good time! And, I know those pralines are amazing. We look forward to hosting you again!

This house is a find! Well appointed and the master suite was perfect for the "Birthday Mama" Eight of our party stayed here, and it was more than enough room. The house is larger than it appears in the photos. It was a pleasure to work with the owner from the initial request , right up to our departure. We highly recommend this house for your stay in NOLA!Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

A group of friends decided to gather in New Orleans for Mardi Gras this year, and we all needed a place to stay. We wanted a house that could accommodate 8 of us, that was walking distance to the parade routes and also to shops and restaurants. This house delivered all of that and more. Spacious and comfortable -- with lots of common areas for sharing meals and hanging out -- this place was perfect for us. We were able to save money by buying groceries and cooking in the well-equipped kitchen, we all slept in beds, and it was easy for us to get to and from the house when we wanted to explore the city and partake in festivities. From the moment we set foot into the house to the moment we left, we felt welcome and taken care of. Thank you so much! We will definitely be checking this house's availability for future trips!Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: Thank you so much! We look forward to hosting you again soon. Julieta

I recently stayed for Super Bowl Week. Julieta was great to work with and checked in with us on our arrival to make sure we were all set. The house was nicely furnished with comfortable beds and decorations. Meeting the neighbors was the highlight of our trip both next store, across the street and at the corner bar. We commandeered Sheila across the street to cook us meals of Dirty Rice and Jambalaya. New Orleans Southern hospitality at its best!Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+.
Owner response: John, Thanks so much for taking the time to review our property. I am so glad you enjoyed the property and our neighborhood! We hope you'll stay with us again soon. If you are ever in DC, we have a VRBO property there too (No. 435085)! Julieta

What a wonderful choice! Right upon opening the door, we were charmed by the feeling of space and the tasteful decor. Plenty of room to stretch out, entertain, and stash your stuff. Kitchen is top-notch, and well-supplied for cookware/dishware. Bedrooms are surprisingly big, outlets accessible, closets generous. And I wish I had a mattress at home that was as nice as the one I slept on here! Bathrooms plenty big, especially in the master BR. Perfectly clean, and plenty of linens. Washer and dryer work fine. Gorgeous hardwood floors throughout. You'll really appreciate things like the quality and comfort of the couches, the generous size of the dining room table, and the abundance of counter space in the kitchen. Far surpasses the experiences I've had at most other rental properties. The house is within short walking distance of Magazine Street (and closest to the most interesting section!), the heart of the Garden District, and the St. Charles street car line, which links you to the French Quarter, Tulane, the zoo, etc. Can't think of a better location if you want to see everything New Orleans has to offer. The owners have a long history with New Orleans, and are very knowledgeable and helpful. Overall, a fantastic experience. You'll be very happy with this place.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, families with teenagers, girls getaway.
Owner response: Chris, thank you so much for your kind review! We are thrilled you enjoyed your stay and will look forward to hosting you again soon! Julieta

We loved our stay here. The house was spacious, well-equipped, and in perfect condition. There is great food and shopping on Magazine Street, and the French Quarter is an easy trip by taxi or public transit. We've stayed in the French Quarter before, but enjoyed staying here much more! LaDivinia had great gelati and panini. The truffles at Sucre were a treat, and we loved Cafe Abyssinia for Ethiopian. We brought our children with us as well, so it was great for us to have a full kitchen and laundry. On our Sunday afternoon, we were entertained by a parade down our street! In short, the house was wonderful, the neighborhood was friendly and fun, and it was a great home base for exploring the city and beyond.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, families with teenagers, families with young children.
Owner response: Thank you so much! We are very happy you had a great visit in New Orleans and enjoyed our house. We hope to have you stay again with us soon! Julieta and Steve Slattery, owners
