This vacation home is a one-level, two bedroom, two-bath condominium in the gated Mariner's Cay complex in Folly Beach, South Carolina, USA. The home is situated directly on the Folly River and has great views of the river, the sunsets and the activity at the Mariner's Cay Marina. The screened porch overlooking the back yard and the marina is a great place for dining, reading and relaxing. The master bedroom opens to the porch as does the main living area. The entire condominium has just undergone complete redecorating and refurbishment with new floors inside, ceramic tile on the porch and new furnishings, including twin beds in the guest room.
The home is all on one level with only a short set of stairs from the parking area to the front door and another set off of the porch into the back yard. We love having direct access to the back yard and the marina area.
The home is well-maintained, was recently refurbished and redecorated and is nicely furnished with all of the expected conveniences including cable TV and DVD player.
The complex has two lighted tennis courts, a large pool and is a great place from which to launch your adventures -- kayaking, boating and fishing the river, riding bikes, surfing and long walks in and around Folly Beach are some of the favorite activities. The beach is less than a mile away by car, bike or walking. Historic downtown Charleston is a 15 minute drive.

About the owner: Our family consists of Scott & Becky, plus two children, Emily (18) & Campbell (16). I am national manager with a technology company in the automotive industry and Becky works in a medical office. We all enjoy sports and outdoor activities and like to take advantage of any outdoor opportunities wherever we travel -- running, biking and hiking are some of our favorites. Soccer (or football) is a favorite sport.
Why the Owner Chose Mariners Cay:
Folly Beach is absolutely the best all around beach town on the entire South Carolina coast. Check online for yourself, but whether you're a surfer, a family, a retiree, an outdoor enthusiast or just want to get a away, you are welcome at Folly Beach. From the Folly Pier to the local restaurants (Rita's, The Lost Dog, Loggerheads, the Surf Bar) to the great public parking and facilities, you can't have a better beach experience. We have been going to the area for over 30 years and have watched it grow up --- but have never considered going to any other beach town. It's not pretentious or stuffy like some of the 'resorts'. You can be yourself, come as you are and absolutely have the best time you've ever had at the beach.
The Unique Benefits at this Condo:
Our home is not on the beach, but near the beach and we wouldn't have it any other way. Over 30 plus years we've owned two properties in Mariner's Cay and think we have the best of both worlds. We not only can walk right over to the beach and be right in the middle of things if we choose, but we can be away from it all at the pool or on our screened porch. During the busiest of holiday weekends (Independence Day, for example) we can enjoy the beach, the people and the whole festive atmosphere as long as we like, but yet get away from the crowds when we choose. All of Folly Island can be full, but the gated community of Mariner's Cay is always serene and is the very best place to get away when you like.
