Lodge at Big Sky estate description
Big Sky private estate is the closest private residence to the main lifts. We designed two closed wings to create privacy. The large central living and entertainment area on the main floor allow for conversation in the sitting room and entertainment activities in the great room.
The two wings are identical; each wing includes a master bedroom with private full bath and walk-in closet, plus another bedroom with a full bathroom across the hall. There is a large upstairs bedroom with one queen and two twins. All bedrooms have queen size beds. All sic bathrooms have double sinks with private toilet/shower areas. We provide linens and towels for all bedrooms and bathrooms.
The lodge main floor includes a fully equipped kitchen with a service counter which seats three. The formal dining room seats up to 12 and is separated by a double sided fireplace from a large sitting room. The sitting room creates an intimate space for reading and conversation. The antique Persian carpets and large original oil paintings add ambiance.
Beyond the sitting room through three large double glass doors is an entertainment room with spectacular window views of Lone Peak. Within this room is a 60-inch plasma screen television with surround sound, Blue Ray and DVD, CD and SACD music disc entertainment systems. There is also an antique 8 foot Brunswick pool table, a 7 foot Collard and Collard antique grand piano, and extensive library collection. Antique Persian carpets are scattered on red oak floors. The entrance to the hot tub is located through this room.
There is an entertainment room downstairs especially for the kids, with a 50 inch television that includes an extensive selection of DVDs, VHS, Beta, and video games. Off this room is a full bath and laundry area. There are two parking spaces available for guests in the garage, and room for seven more vehicles in the driveway. We provide, firewood, trash pick up, plowing and hot tub service. No pets.

Why Lodge at Big Sky:
I loved Huntley's vision for a resort that merged with nature. We built one of the first passive solar systems in Big Sky. My hope was to create a place where my extended family could come together and could ski regardless of their ability. The experts and the beginners can both enjoy the skiing without lift lines.

We built this home in 1986. We wanted to create a space that allowed for our extended families to come together but still have privacy, thus the two wings. There is nothing better than sitting in front of the grand fireplace sharing stories from the day or hanging out in the entertainment room with your favorite movie or game of pool. Our place allows you to move through these spaces comfortably so you can participate or watch from a distance and still feel a part of the group. The powder snow is unparalleled, as well as, the amount of vertical, the diversity of runs, the lack of lift lines, and the convenience to services from our location. You can walk to lifts or catch the shuttle bus across the street.
