  We just returned from our spring vacation and couldn’t be happier with our choice of staying at this home. The townhome is perfectly located a short drive to the private beach and just a few houses down from the pool. The house is equipped with everything you could ever need for both day exploring (coolers, beach chairs, snorkel gear, noodles, boogie boards) and cooking when you return from your adventures (food processor, blender, rice maker, you name it they have it). The lanai is very relaxing and comfortable. Our boys loved playing outside on the grass while we were enjoying our morning coffee. It felt like they had their own private back yard! The master suite is amazing and very well equipped and the two upstairs bedrooms were perfect for our boys and grandparents. We already booked for next year. I can’t imagine choosing another place to stay. Thank you for sharing your home with us!

  It is abundantly clear that this condo was not merely set up as a rental unit, but is really a home. It exceeded our expectations in many ways – location, ambiance, and luxury. The location was great – merely minutes away from many beaches, yet it was quiet place to return in the evenings to relax. I loved waking up to the sounds of the Hawaiian birds singing, and some curious birds alighted on the lanai to check us out. The unit is furnished with everything you could ever want in the kitchen, plus a wonderful internet radio setup (we never turned the dial away from the Hawaiian Rainbow station), with even a turbie towel to wrap my wet hair. The cooler, beach bags, fins, and towels made our day trips easy to manage. The unit is tactfully labeled so that it is easy to operate the appliances and return the unit to its immaculate state. The pool area is a two minute walk away. We frequented this area for quick swims and to do yoga. You can easily walk to The Shops at Mauna Lani, where we enjoyed eating at Monstera (multiple times!) and Tommy Bahamas. If you have a hankering to learn to play the ukulele, stop by Just Ukes and let Lloyd take care of you. If you like fine dining plus a romantic setting on the beach, be sure to try the Canoe House and the Brown Beach House at nearby resorts. I highly recommend this unit to anyone (except for the times when we want to rent again!). In my personal rating system, my experience was "Sublime"! We love the Big Island and this unit is the perfect place to stay. Aloha!

  We had a wonderful 9-day stay here. This condo was the perfect vacation retreat for our party of 5 (4 adults, one teen). We've been coming to the Mauna Lani resort for over 15 years and have stayed in both hotel rooms and vacation homes. IMHO, this condo is the best combination of amenities, location, and price. LOCATION/AMENITIES: From the easy walk to the large (and not crowded!) pool to the thoughtful supply of beach equipment (boogie boards, beach chairs and umbrella, snorkel gear, coolers), it was easy to get into our Mauna Lani vacation from day one. I am an avid cook, and the kitchen was a joy to use. The rooms are beautifully appointed, especially the luxurious master suite. Loved the easy Wi-Fi, customizable housewide audio, and the thoughtful collection of CDs in the media center, too. A surprising source of fun was the murder mystery puzzle game we found in the magazine rack—give it a try! We split our time between the Mauna Lani Beach Club (with access conveniently included in the rental) and Hapuna Beach a few minutes up the coast, but the high ceilings and "disappearing walls" style of Kulalani made simply hanging out at the house the sum of my ambition much of the time. GUEST CARE: There are many luxury rentals to choose from at Mauna Lani. In my opinion, what really sets this condo apart is the superior guest care of the owners and rental manager. From the first inquiry to our final checkout, the residence manager was responsive, friendly, informative, and clear. We always felt we were in good hands, and we deeply appreciate that she and the owners took personal interest in helping to make our vacation outstanding. We've just returned home, and we're already planning our next visit!

  Oh trust me....we will be coming back. This lux condo is so spacious, extremely well equiped, beautifully furnished and so lovely to just hang out in. It's just a short walk to the beautiful 2 acre recreation area with 2 pools, jacuzzi, exercise facility and clubhouse. To our surprise and delight, we often had these facilities pretty much to ourselves. And this was high season! We especially loved the extra large master bedroom/closets/bathroom and the grassy lawn just off the patios. It made for excellent star gazing at night. Walking down to the beaches in the early AM for a snorkel in calm waters became our ritual. We've been coming to the BI for 12 years and find it hard to beat the Mauni Lani complex and the Kohala coast. Now, we've found a condo that reflects the owners desire for high standards. Mahalo Anne for all your speedy and attentive responses to our inquiries too. It's good to have a resident manager.

  We had such a wonderful stay at Kulalani! They have thought of everything! From plenty of large beach towels to practically any appliance or cooking tool you could need. Our favorite thing was sitting on the lanai in the morning having coffee. There were four adults plus our 10 month old daughter in our party, and the size of the property was very accommodating. You'll work with Anne if you rent here- and she is also lovely. Very quick on email and answers any questions. A couple of our other favorite things were going to the pool and driving the coast. In fact we actually saw whales driving north from Kulalani on the main highway. Clean up was rather easy and not a lot to ask on their part. I would definitely recommend this as a place to stay! We are thankful they are willing to share their home!

  Our family of 5 with 3 kids (ages 11, 10, and 8) spent a wonderful week at this property in the Mauna Lani resort. This was our third trip to the resort but our first time renting at this complex. This was by far the best value we found in the resort (previously we had rented 2 hotel rooms and then spent a lot of money for an oceanfront condo). The condo is very spacious, up-to-date, and clean with a large, ground level lanai and lots of grassy area out back for the kids to throw the football. The mattresses/beds are very comfortable with plenty of extra pillows/blankets. It was great to find the garage well stocked with 2 boogie boards, nice snorkel gear, yoga mats, suit/towel drying rack, coolers, beach chairs, and even a beach bag. The kitchen was a cooks dream with completely stocked cooking pans, serving gear, and utensils. Everything was very well labeled and the owners provided a nice guide to local sites. We walked down to the Fairmont Orchid (9 mins) to take tennis lessons. We went to the pool a couple of times but used the beach club most of the time. The owners provide lots of beach towels for use. The beach club is an easy, 3 minute drive with plenty of parking and the best snorkeling on the island. For sunsets, we took the owners advice and drove the short distance to a little cove with our cocktails. We look forward to coming back next year! Aloha

  It must have been fate when another booking fell through just a month before traveling to BI but this unit was available. It is over the top for furnishings, the gourmet kitchen, the fabulous lanai with the grill, the sound system....oh, and the pool area too. It is truly paradise. I hope to spend another visit here in the future.

  We really enjoyed our stay at Kulalani 2202. It was the perfect gathering place for our family which included 5 adults and 2 small kids. We especially enjoyed the outdoor spaces (dining and living) in this condo and the lawn is lovely and great if you have little ones who want to run around. The beach club is wonderful with a great beach and terrific snorkeling right off the beach. The condo is well appointed with everything from beach toys, towels, chairs (even a cooler) to a fully stocked kitchen and ipad doc and wifi. The pools in the complex are also great (although the 'lap' pool seemed really short) and we enjoyed both. My only reason for giving this property 4 stars instead of 5 is that there is a building site (just an excavated hole really) directly in view across the lawn (maybe 400' away?). Initially this was a turn-off, but it's not active at all (no work going on), so it's quiet and really didn't impact us at all. We have visited Hawaii many times and know that construction is a fact of life there, but If I were going to return, I'd want to confirm that this site wasn't 'active'. Don't let this deter you from renting, this is a great condo at an excellent price.

  This is a wonderful place to stay. We are a family of five, which includes 3 young children. The owners of this property really thought of everything!! We would return in a heart beat. The access you get to the private beach club is worth a lot! The snorkeling there is just as good as anywhere else on the island. Every morning we made some Kona coffee and sat outside and had breakfast and read. On some of the days we would use the health club on the property and partake in a morning swim. It was just perfect. I would highly recommend eating at the Beach Club too for lunch or dinner. Prices are very reasonable and everything was fresh. The laundry room in this rental is awesome! It saved my life almost everyday, as we came back exhausted and covered with grim after our adventures. The kitchen had every utensil you would ever need and we cooked at least 1 to 2 meals a day for 7 days. The grill was awesome and cooked up some amazing steaks and seafood that we had bought locally at a Ranch we found on the Island. The only thing I would do to improve our stay the next time we came is to tell the owners to turn up the hot water heater. We would have ourselves but locked out >: The shower was hot but not HOT. And after our longs days I wanted to soak in the beautiful tub that was in the master suite but the water would never get HOT enough. It took us 15 years to get our family to the BIG ISLAND and I really hope it does not take another 15 to return. I would recommend this unit to anyone who appreciates good taste, the comforts of home and beautiful outdoors.

  We just stayed in this luxurious vacation propery for 9 days, and could have stayed another 9 without a problem. The condo was exquitly decorated, well supplied with kitchen necessities and extremely clean and well maintained inside and out. It was so peaceful; an absolute perfect vacation spot. The photos are beautiful, but you just have to be there to drink in all the beauty. With the glass doors opened or closed, the area is very large and not crowded. The property is perfectly situated for nice long walks around the Mauna Lani area, and walking distance to the beach or to the shopping mall for a few cooking supplies. The pool area is well appointed in the area, and large enough to be away from others for a peaceful rest in the sun. The management is extremely helpful and came thru for us for a last minute reservation. We will definately stay here again.
