Wow! We loved staying here. We had to extend our trip in Seattle, and the owner was able to accommodate us. He was great about contacting us right away to let us know that the property was available. It was easy to find, close to everything- easy to get on the freeway to get to town. This was perfect for our group of three (daughter, granddaughter, and myself). Kitchen was well-stocked, and we love sitting on the deck watching the sun rise, or the sun set. Saw an eagle soaring by on day. Perfection!

This is a wonderful, clean, and cozy rental right on Puget Sound. Since I was traveling to Seattle for work, this was a great location as it's only 5 minutes to SeaTac airport and just minutes to Seattle and Renton. The view of the Sound from the living room and deck is priceless, and one could spend hours there marveling at the view of the water and the ever-changing view of the Olympic mountains. If you're adventurous, you can walk up the hill to the charming little town of Burien. There's so many good restaurants and shops nearby. I recommend a dinner and movie at the Tin Room for a good neighborhood experience. Your hosts are great and truly seek to make your stay enjoyable. I can't thank them enough for sharing their home and making this a memorable visit.

Great place. This was our first trip to Seattle and had no idea about where to stay. We wanted peace and quiet, great veiws, comfortable home-like accommodations, close to SEA-TAC, and convienent to sight-seeing in Seattle and surrounding area. This place has it all. Ron's description of the property and pictures were exact and exceeded our expectations. He even helped us carry in our luggage and spent time at our first meeting to tell us about himself and gave us some great recommendations on where to eat and how to manage the unexpected highway work downtown on the Alaskan Highway Viaduct. The whole time we were talking we were on the sundeck of the lower living area enjoying the spectacular view of Puget Sound. We stayed a week, Saturday to Saturday, and were gone most of the day time sight-seeing, but were back in time to watch the sunset while enjoying a glass of wine and Tillamook cheese. The only sound you heard was a hummingbird ( Ron and Marcella have hummingbird feeders around the property ) or maybe a crow or seagull, no loud music, no car noises. If you saw any barge or container ship traffic, you couldn't hear them out in the middle of Puget Sound. When you go to the property, the road going to it is like the main street of Burien. There are lots of places to eat, mainly small venues, but great food. We tried 909 and The Mark, and liked both places. There is another town about 10 minutes south called Des Moines. There is a nice restaurant at the Marina called Anthony's. Great seafood. During our sight-seeing, we went as far West as Grays Harbor ( Westort ) on the coast and to the East, North Bend and Snoqualmie. If you like to do wine tasting, check our Woodinville. All the local wineries have company stores there right off of Hwy 2020 where you can taste and buy their wine and company products. I highly recommend Airfield Winery. We went as far north as Everett and toured the Boeing plant there. One of the high points of the trip was a float plane sight-seeing flight from Lake Union on Kenmore Air. It is a great way to see Seattle. We also enjoyed a steak dinner in the Space Needle one evening at sunset and was able to enjoy the lights of the city while having supper. Two other places to eat I would recommend is Salty's in West Seattle and Ivars on the waterfront, close to the ferry docks in downtown Seattle. If you like coffee, you're in heaven here. Coffee places everywhere, not just Starbucks. Ron, thanks again. Burt and Teri.

After you check out hotel prices in the Seattle area, come back to this page and call Ron. Why pay as much--or more--for just a hotel room when you can rent a whole apartment and have a deck that overlooks Puget Sound and the Olympic mountains??!! The apartment is small but cozy. There is only seating for two in the living room by which to see the TV, but we didn't spend all that much time watching TV. We were fortunate to have have great weather for touring and for sitting on the deck. The sunsets from the deck are spectacular! This is a very quiet property as well. Ron's prices are also good compared not only to hotels but other properties. You can't beat the price for the views you will get and the quiet surroundings. The property is located conveniently right between Sea-Tac airport and downtown Seattle--15 mins to either. BTW: Be sure to get to Rhodie's BBQ at 351 Broad street, just a little west of the Space Needle. Great little local place we discovered!

This is a nice, clean property with an outstanding view of the Sound and Olympic Mountains. The deck is large and very nice. The kitchen is small, but very well-stocked with plenty of food items. This is a great place to come "home" to after day trips.

My wife and I were very pleased with Ron & Marcellas wonderful Puget Sound rental. The view was spectacular and serene all at the same time. There was plenty of room and everything was very comfortable. Ron is a personable guy and conversations were enlightening about the area. We got to try the local transit system (train) and it is a very reasonable and convenient way of getting around. The location is close enough to everything and you can be anywhere in the Seattle/Tacoma area within an hours drive, and there is plenty to do anywhere you go. We hope to be able to stay here again when we are in the Seattle area, Thanks, Ron.

We came to Ron's place on the advice of our good friends Rick and Ginger, who stayed here last year. It was our first trip to Seattle, to visit our travel nurse daughter and celebrate our 25th anniversary a few weeks early. Even though the weather tried to "dampen" our spirits, the sheer comfort and beauty of the place made our week one of the best we've ever had! The views of the mountains, the water, even watching a pair of eagles dancing in flight together over our deck are memories that will just have to last us until we return again- thank you, Ron!

My Sister and I came from Texas to see my Son who is in Graduate School in Portland and Ron's place was wonderful. The neighborhood was quite and remote. Yet restaurants, shopping, beach access and getting into Seattle were all close by and very accessable. The place had everything that you could need available. The views from the balcony were exceptional. My Sister even called my neice and told her about the place for their next vacation. I would recommend renting this place.

My mother in law stayed at Ron's during the month of December. She absolutely loved it. It was clean, quiet, and had everything she needed. The view is exceptional and even though it was December she couldn't helf herself from enjoying the balcony. There were great sites to see from boats to birds. Ron and his wife were very hospitable and welcoming. I would definitely recommend their place to others.

We were overwhelmed with the beauty of the vista from the home. We were enchanted to walk over a garden-lined foot bridge to enter a little piece of paradise. It was tempting to stay in and change our sight-seeing plans! However, we were within 20 minutes driving time from downtown Seattle where we toured on the "Duck Tour" and took in all of the sights physically possible--especially the museums. We ended with a fabulous evening at the Teatro Zinzanni. We woke in the morning to the most spectacular and romantic sunrise over the water with the Cascades as a backdrop. We were able to cook our own diet-specific foods with a fully stocked kitchen and had breakfast and coffee out on the patio deck. This trip and the experience with the B & B's owner far exceeded what we anticipated. We have already talked about making this an annual trip to refuel and get away from our busy lives in California. The proprietor was awesome.

We were enchanted with Sea & Sky in every way. It is a very clean, roomy place, with a breathtaking view from your own private deck. (I am envious of the flower gardens.) It was very nice to have a washer and dryer too, since the airlines charge for luggage. Also very easy access to main roads to get you on your way to see all Seattle has to offer. We stayed for two weeks and were in and out all the time sightseeing and still did not get to see all we wanted to see! There is just so much to do and see in Seattle! This is a dream place to stay and would reccomend it to all. Thanks for our wonderful place to stay! PS>>>We also suffer from allergies and my husband is asthmatic and the only time I had any problems was walking in the parks and he didn't have any problems!

I agree with most of the reviews in terms of the view, the courteous nature of the host, and the amenities. Great to have a working kitchen. They have thought of every detail, down to the board games and puzzles for a lazy, rainy afternoon. Very homey. Our only complaint, which some guests might appreciate, is that we found the place seriously aggravated our allergies. I arrived with a slight cold, and my partner suffers from asthma. Both of us, however, experienced unusual and aggravated respiratory problems in the place, especially after the day that we decided to stay indoors all day to rest up. There is a musty-basement quality to the apartment, and it is something that will have to be addressed before we stay there again.
Owner response:In six years-no one has ever complained about any problems with a musty basement smell. I think these two-who rarely left the rental --are overly sensitive.

You think this place looks good online? Wait until you get there! It’s truly a gorgeous, peaceful and practical home-away-from-home surrounded by a flower-filled landscape. We were wowed from the moment of arrival. Ron (as pleasant and helpful as everyone says) joked that we set a record for most time spent away from the place, but we wanted to experience everything on our first visit to Seattle. There are great hills for morning runs right out the front door and restaurants are a brisk 20 minute walk to town - 909 Coffee and Wine has a great menu! Whether you plan to lounge around all day or drive to Mt. Rainier, Olympic National Park, Pike Place Market (about 20 minutes by car) or kayak in the San Juan Islands, this is a great spot. We left around 6:00 a.m. for our Olympic and San Juan days, but if you don’t mind that sort of thing, you can definitely spend whole days in these places. At Olympic we went all the way to the Hoh Rainforest, did an easy 40 minute hike, stopped at Rialto beach for an hour and even spent an hour at the tide pools in Salt Creek County Park. Waking up to the view of Puget Sound with the Olympic Mountains beyond every morning and walking across the Wisteria-laden bridge to the front door each night were perfect bookends to our adventure-filled days. The kitchen had everything we needed, the private laundry downstairs was great since we fit everything in carry-ons, the bed was perfect with excellent pillows and the house is fresh and clean. Being so close to the airport is a treat for quick arrival or if you have to catch a super early flight out. Before you head to the store or public market (great fruit at Sosio’s stand), be sure to check the kitchen as you’ll find all kinds of things that you won’t need to buy. We enjoyed every minute of our 10% relaxing, 90% adventuring time spent here! Thank you Ron (and Marcella who we didn’t get a chance to meet as we were on the run) for memories we will treasure always.

Ron was gracious enough to contact us immediately when we first inquired about the property. When he found that they were not going to be home when we arrived, he again contacted us and made accomodations to get into the duplex upon our arrival. We were surprised to see that they listed (on a welcome board) that they were a B&B. Our usual experience is a B&B furnishes a breakfast each morning of your stay. Not so with Ron and Marcelle. We were pleasantly surprised to find a completely stocked kitchen, including items to fix for breakfast, plus snacks, and fresh fruit, and a pantry full of goodies. When Ron and Marcelle returned home, Ron came to our duplex and introduced himself. We rarely saw them during our stay, but when we did he suggested places to go to dinner, etc. and we had some lovely conversation. Their place is lovely with a beautiful view of the water. Sitting out on the deck was a delight. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but we found the bed to be poofy and comfortable. Should you find yourselves visiting the Seattle area in the future, Bob & I highly recommend staying at Sea to Sky B&B.

The 4 of us gathered from all over the country at this vacation home. It was perfect! We were on the sound but only 15 min from Seattle. We took the sights in and then came home to relax on the deck overlooking the sound. This home is fully stocked with linens, games, books, etc. Even the kitchen has cooking items so you don't have to purchase them at the grocery store. I would definitely recommend this home to anyone wanting to visit the Seattle area!

It was so wonderful to get back to such a place of comfort after a long day of traveling and exploring the Seattle area. Ron truly made it feel like home...even with our baby. The rooms were comfortable, the tub was heavenly after a long day's hike and the view...well, the view made it extremely hard to leave. I guess we'll just have to go back!

My adult daughter came from California and we spent 3 nights at your lovely place in May, 2009, and thoroughly enjoyed it. The decor was very attractive and comfortable. You have truly thought of every detail, right down to herbs and spices in the kitchen. We needed only our clothes and main food items. It was so quiet. We enjoyed the privacy. We were able to get quickly to Seattle and the airport. Old Burien is delightful, with lovely shops. All in all, a very nice vacation spot.

Ron, thank you for allowing our family to share your little piece of heaven. We just returned from 4 nights at the cottage and had an absolutely fantastic trip. The combination of peacefullness at the house and the easy access to all that greater Seattle has to offer is a perfect combination. The pictures make the inside space seem smaller that it really is. The three of us had plenty of room and the "lived in" feel of the apartment was fantastic. We we able to see most of the hot spots in Seattle as well as the surrounding area because of your fantasic access to the highways south of town. The fact that we were 10 minutes from SeaTac Airport allowed us to easily catch our early flight back to the east coast. The fact that you have 2 great Italian restaurants right in town allowed us to go all day and know we had a great dinner waiting for us on our way back to your place. We will definitely recommend your house to our friends and hope to be able to enjoy it again on own own. Thanks again, Brian, Liz and Hayley - Charlotte, NC

We stayed 5 nights, just 2 adults. The apartment is under the home of the owner but unless we were all on our respective decks we were unaware of them. We never say them after the 2nd day when they kindly lent us a set of golf clubs since we only brought 1. The place was clean and has great views. Rather further out of Seattle than we expected however. Good grocery shopping within about 10 minutes in the town of Burien, but you can't walk to restaurants/pubs from the house. We spent every evening eating seafood at home on the deck watching the boats and sunsets. Only 2 complaints -mattress was very saggy and therefore uncomfortable for us and the stove only had 1 burner that worked consistently. We managed and enjoyed our stay. After 5 days staying in hotels we really enjoyed having a place of own to spread out and cook all the while enjoying great views.

This was the first time my wife and I were in Washington so to stay at a place with views like this was what we were looking for. The views of the sound and Olympic Mountains were incredible. I think when we were there Seattle had the best weather they had in a long time so it was very enjoyable for us. This location is close to everything but so quiet as if you were hundreds of miles away from it all. Ron was very helpful on telling us where we should go to see different sites so we also had a great time away from Sea To Sky. With the stress of everyday stuff I felt so relaxed and comfortable. If we were to return to Seattle we would like to stay here again.

My wife and I had never been to Washington, what incredible luck we discovered Ron and Betty's place among the hundreds of B & B available. What an awesome view from the deck, we would drink our coffee there every morning and watch the tugs and ferries move across the sound each night. Every detail was thought of, we did not want for anything. Ron was so helpful on letting us know where to eat, what to do and see. We would stay here again for sure, and so close to the airport, but yet so peacful.

The view from the deck is outstanding - across Puget Sound to Vashon Island and the Olympic Muntains beyond - a million dollar view. Ron and Betty are gracious hosts and most willing to assist you with directions and ideas for your stay in Seattle. We hope to return and visit this wonderful place again!
