We had a great time, loved fishing in the lake and the beach and lots of fun on the water in the rowboat and canoe. We like taking a walk up to the store in the morning for the paper and coffee and some good exercise. We enjoyed hiking and shopping in North Conway and Golf right here in Center Lovell. The cottage was a great set up for our extended family and everything was very comfortable. I can't wait to go back.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 7/7

My husband, two children and myself have been staying at Loon Lodge for two years. It is the perfect family vacation for the young and the old. We are just a small walk from Kezar Lake and can see the lake from the cottage. We are an easy walk to the general store, the bed and breakfast and the public beach. What more could you ask for?? The cottage is very nicely maintained with room for everyone. I love the master bedroom with it's own screened porch to relax in. We love having our own dock, not having to share with anyone...a huge plus. One of our favorite places to eat and chat would have to be Kezar Lake Marina! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a nice, relaxing family vacation. For those that want a little more activity, you can easily drive to antique stores, retail outlets and grocery stores. It truly is our home away from home. The Storch Family, PennsylvaniaOwner response: Thank you for your kind words. We enjoy hearing about the fun everyone has at Loon lodge, the screen porch off the master bedroom is also one of our favorite places. The past couple of years the kids have enjoyed the takeout window at the pleasant point inn. Glad you are coming back again.

This was exactly the place I was looking for when searching for a place that myself and friends could escape for a weekend. The fall foliage was still out in full color, the air smelled of crisp New England fall days and the cabin was absolutely perfect. The owners have it very well appointed with everything you might need during your stay. The beds were comfortable, bathrooms were clean and the kitchen had plenty of space for cooking a delicious breakfast. A highlight of the weekend for us was sitting around the fire pit and enjoying conversation while relaxing in the ADK chairs. There was plenty of firewood readily available and parking for a few cars. I am already thinking about when and how I can make it back for another visit! I can only imagine this place would be perfect during the middle of the summer, especially with the available boats and dock.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 3/3

I grew up in Maine and had never heard of Kezar Lake until finding this place and after staying at this beautiful cabin I would say it is now one of my favorite places in the state. The lake itself is very peaceful with minimal motorized traffic and a lot of wildlife. The best part was being able to wake up and walk the short distance to the lake and go for a relaxing morning kayak. The kids and I also really enjoyed playing at the beach, and the short walk to the cabin made it easy to go back and forth for snacks and drinks. The tempurpedic queen size bed was wonderful to sleep on and the house itself was in great condition and felt very rustic. We were able to find time to travel into North Conway which was definitely worth the trip; the shops were all very quaint and unique. Overall, I would say this was a wonderful vacation owed in part to such a great rental property. The owners were more than pleasant to work with and really care about their property and the experience it has to offer. We will definitely be back again!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with young children, families with teenagers, adventure seekers.

If everything worked on this property, it would be an excellent (definitely clean) vacation home. Unfortunately, the water supply is controlled by the inn next door and failed twice in a one-week period. Also, the property is on low ground and the access to the lake is swampy and muddy. We were also unable to use the outside picnic table and chairs because of high water level. A leak in the roof in the kitchen distracted us when it rained! The public beach next door is excellent for young children. Three boats available to tenants are a plus, if one can get to the dock.Recommended for: Families with young children.
Owner response: Ah yes, the summer of 2009! August went down as the rainiest month in Maine with 28 straight days of rain. Since this reservation we have replaced the roof on the cabin, and have had no other incidents with the water being affected by the inn nearby. This was due to high levels of ground water which also contributed to the wetness of the ground at the cabin. Unfortunately the weather was not cooperative that summer and it was out of our control. Hopefully the 2011 season will bring us agreeable weather!

We've been coming to Loon Lodge for 8 years now, and can't wait to be back in July. Kezar Lake is absolutely gorgeous, with loons to serenade you to sleep, plenty of bass to catch, and we enjoy water skiing, tubing, kayaking, canoeing and swimming, all with a spectacular backdrop of the White Mountains of NH. The house has always been in very good condition - very clean with "homey" touches, and the owners have been excellent to work with. We typically eat dinner on the large screened porch every night, and often have breakfast on the dock while the lake is still "waking up". In addition to the lake-based activities, there are numerous outdoor activities available - hiking (locally or in the White Mtns), skiing (in the winter) and Mt Washington are all within reasonable distances. Foliage season in the White Mtns is simply beautiful - a must drive is the Kancamagus Highway, with spectacular views any season. And if there is a rainy summer day, North Conway NH is just a short (20 min) drive -- for movies, shopping (have to go to ZEB's Country Store for the dime-store candy counter), restaurants (Muddy Moose & HorseFeathers have good burgers & pub fare and Ben & Jerry's ice cream for dessert). Overall, a highly recommended rental!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with young children, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, sightseeing.

We all enjoyed our week here. Accomadations cound not have been better. We had two sets of grandparents and a couple of young ones along with the four of us and we all loved it. Nice campfires, beautiful area and you can't beat happy hour on the dock. There's something here for everyone or better yet do nothing at all and listen to the birds.Did you find this review helpful?
