The lovely coastal town of Camden, Maine and it's spectacular Lake Megunticook are truly a little slice of heaven. Becalmed Cottage is perfectly situated to offer you full enjoyment of this pristine lake and the nearby village of Camden.
The cottage dates back 100 years, but was totally rebuilt in 2004. The owners were able to capture the coastal cottage feel, while updating with all modern amenities in the cottage and guest quarters. The cottage features a fully outfitted kitchen. The kitchen, dining area and comfortable great room with stone fireplace, feature a wall of windows on the lake and adjoin the outdoor awning covered patio. A mud roon/ den side entry, powder room and private outdoor shower complete the first floor.The master bedroom with queen sized bed,, master bath laundry, as well as, two additional bedroom and hall bath are located on the second floor.
The cottage features a flat screened TV with cable and wireless high speed internet.
The guest quarters are located separately. It is ideal for a multifamily gathering, or as a place for the kids to sleep and hang out. Just a few steps from the cottage, the guest quarters features a large upper deck, overlooking the lake, a large family room, counter and bar stools, a full bath and a large bedroom. The XL twin beds, 2 regular twin beds and ample closet space. The quarters is equipped with a kitchenette, which features a small refrigerator, microwave, toaster oven and sink.
Lake Megunticook offers a wide array of outdoor activities, including, boating, swimming, fishing, tubing waterskiing and more. the 3 kayaks provided are perfect for discovering the coastline and wildlife. Enjoy the lake and a good book from the Adirondack chairs on the lawn or large dock. Take in the picture perfect sunsets from the patio.
Nature enthusiasts,can enjoy hiking to nearby Maiden's Cliff and Camden Hills State Park. A five minute drive to the center of Camden will delight with unique shops, art galleries, restaurants, harbor boat tours and more. Antique lovers will enjoy the local shops in Camden and nearby towns.

We spent 2 amazing weeks at this property this past summer. The first week, we rented the house and cottage with another family, a total of 4 adults and 5 children. With the cottage for the kids and the house for the adults, it was perfect. The second week was much quieter and we rented just the cottage, which was perfect for a family of 5. The kitchen is very well stocked, the house is nicely decorated, and must have been cleaned by someone who is obsessive compulsive, it is that clean. There is a washer/dryer, clothes line, 3 kayaks and a grill. We found everything we needed. The cottage is on a relatively quiet section of the lake, more kayaks and canoes than motor boats. It is a very pretty spot. The dock is huge, plenty of room for family and friends to sit and watch the children jump off the floating dock which is a few yards away. We enjoyed it so much, we are going back next summer. So sorry, it will not be available the first two weeks in July!Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children, families with teenagers.

This was our second year staying at the fabulous lakeside cottage and guest house. The house is beautifully appointed -- right out of a catalog. The kitchen was well stocked so we cooked and grilled a lot. We were very close to town for shopping and exploring and we were a very short distance from many hiking trails. Waking up every morning to beautiful views of the lake and having our coffee down on the dock couldn't have been more perfect. We had family come and visit and they loved it too.
