Historic 'Dam' House
- Minimum stay:3 nights

- Pets allowed:Yes
- Wheel chair accessible:No
Why do we call it “The Dam House.' The house was originally built in 1946 for the workers of the dams up river. The home was relocated to its current location in 1990. As you can see throughout the area, there are numerous such homes that were relocated (including our neighbor’s home).
The house sits on 2.78 acres and fronts the beautiful Skagit River. The location is ideal for watching the salmon, bald eagles and the local wildlife. During the Skagit River Bald Eagle Festival (in late January early February) we have eagle sightings daily.
For recreational enjoyment you can visit the dams to the north with hiking, rafting, kayaking, and camping. Tour the wineries in the area, go berry picking, as well as other various outdoor activities that Baker Lake, North Cascades Recreational area, Ross Lake have to offer.

Marblemount is the last stop before the cascades. We spent two nights here. Had a wonderful time. The dam house is cute, has a nice living room, full-equipped kitchen (you can cook and feed 8 people here!). We loved the chalkboard in the kitchen. Our chef had "daily menu" on it. At night, the sky is so clear you can see the milky way!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

About the owner: Our family is an eclectic mulch-generational group that loves to have fun. We have completely updated the property as a family, from painting, remodeling the kitchen, to treasure hunting for some of the unique furnishings at garage sales, thrift stores and side of the road finds.
Why the Owner Chose Marblemount:
When looking for a second home, we wanted something convenient (within 2 hours of Seattle), had historic character, waterfront, and that would give us that feeling that we are always home. We stepped out of the car and knew it was to be our 'Dam' house.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
Knowing this house served a major purpose in housing families, and was given new life instead of just thrown away shows the respect to the our environment. We have enjoyed putting personal touches in the home to make everyone feel like they are home. Sit in the Adirondak chairs on the front porch and watch the the deer nibble on the grass, or play croquet with your loved one, or just look at the glorious stars.
