This beautiful home is a classic. Built in 1923 the home has plenty of history. Now it offers all the comforts of a family home. With plenty of trees and plants surrounding the house it creates a feeling of peacefulness. For example you can sit down on the front porch or lay down on the hammock in front of the house enjoying the summer breeze of the bay. Smart fully situated near down town San Diego this home has much to offer.
The house has four bedrooms and two bathrooms. The master bedroom has its own private bathroom. It also has its own T.V with DVD player which is connected to cable. The house also has a laundry room in case you need to wash your clothes. The kitchen comes fully equipped. It also come with coffee, a variety of teas, sugar and Irish cream. There is also a grill in the back yard as well. The living room has a 42 inch LCD TV with cable. Its also connected to a DVD player and there are a few DVDs there to. My family and I wanted to leave for a few days and just relax. When we first arrived at the house it looked just like the picture. My kids liked the front yard and the fountain. The house was clean and there was enough space for all of us. The living room was nice and it had a good flat screen TV. The kitchen was big as well and we did plenty of cooking. All the rooms and bathrooms were clean. My family and I enjoyed the house very much. We were a little uneasy because of a comment we read regarding the house. But things were really nice. We liked the fact that it was near downtown and we did not have to drive as much and we took the trolley. The jacuzzi in the back was great we enjoyed that very much. Overall are stay was great. I really don't see all the complaining was about on the review the house is clean and decent. My family and I enjoyed are stay and San Diego.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children.

7 Nurses rented this house for a week. The area remains a bit sketchy especially for walking. It is in close proximity to the trolley, but you have to walk past a number of homeless people to get there, and we had people begging cigarettes and change from us. The house is old, and smells musty. Owner has put out several air freshners even in the closets but it did not help. There are roach bate containers in the cupboards and in nondiscrete areas. No plug in the main bathroom and some of the plugs are old and when trying to use blow driers the plug falls out. The linens are of poor quality as are the pillows and mattresses on the beds, The sheets do not stay on the mattresses and on some of the beds there is no mattress pad, so you end up on the bare mattress. The blinds in the living room are wood faux, nice, but no rods to open and close on some of them and very dusty, the blinds in the bedroom at the front of the house are bent metal and nothing else so the light comes in from the street all night. There were barking dogs and horns honking on the street at all hours of the night. The locks on the door are not easy to use. Several of us came home with red bites and are afraid we may have brought bed bugs back with us, but cannot say for sure. I would not recommend this house unless some of the above mentioned items were corrected.Owner response: Hi, I was reading your review and im going to respond to some of the things you mentioned. First of all I am surprised from your comments because nobody else has complained about some of the things you mentioned. But then again there is always a first time for everything. First I want to clarify a few things that you have mentioned. The house is American Craftsman style home. It is an old house because it was built in 1928 which makes it a historic home. The area is family oriented with a very diverse culture. It is very safe and as the owner I have lived there for thirty years and have never had a problem there before. As you may know the trolley is about a block away from the house and the station is brand new and there are no homeless around the station. When you do drive towards downtown and the convention center by the trolley there are homeless. This is because there are missions downtown and there is nothing I can do about that. Regarding the house bedding all of them are new and the house is clean. It is a modest place but it is very clean. You mentioned that there were roach traps but they were not. They are ant traps because we tend to have ant problems in San Diego and since its going to be that time again we put the traps out. Regarding the outlets in the bathroom if someone would have reached us we would have helped you solve the problem. The pillows that we have are not feather but are comfortable gel. You said there was a lot of noise in the street at night. I live on the same street and I do not have any problems with noise. The locks on the house are normal and are the same locks that we use at my home which we bought from Home Depot. In other words they are very easy to use, not that complicated. I don't know where you got the bites but I can assure you they didn't come from the house. There are no bed bugs or any other kind of pests in the house. I was surprised that you did not get a hold of me regarding these things until now. Because you as I recall called us and we did a lot of favors. For example we let you in a few hours early without charging you which is something we don't normally do. We also allowed you to park your car behind the house for a few days. We do appreciate your business, and thanks for reminding us there is no outlet in the bathroom, we will install one. We will all test the other outlets and replace any of them that aren't working properly.

We arrived at the house and it looks just like the pictures. Its a clean house and the house was nicely decorated. We enjoyed the living room because it had a flat screen tv and the couch was an automatic reclinable, all we had to do was press it button. The kitchen was big and we liked the little goodies that were provided for us. All the room were fine. The neighborhood at first looked kinda sketchy but we realized that it was a friendly neighborhood. In the afternoon we saw parents and children walking to school which is near by. We also liked that the freeway is near by as is the trolley. Downtown and the gas lamp were minutes away. Overall we enjoyed our stay and San Diego.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children.
Owner response: Thank you for leaving a review. We are glad you enjoyed your stay at the house and San Diego. We hope to hear from you again. We also have discount for retuned guests.

My family and I wanted to get away from the east coast for awhile. When we arrived the house was clean and has a spacious front yard with a porch. We really enjoyed our stay. The managers were really easy to get a hold of. Over all my family and I liked the house and it was also near the freeways and downtown.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, families with young children.

Why the Owner Chose Gaslamp Quarter:
My family and I decided to buy this house because we have lived in the area for over 20 years. A lot of people now, want to live in this area. Years ago the neighborhood was not really good but over the years it has improved becoming one of the most sought after areas to build and live in. This area has not lost any value. For example a new Walmart is being built only three blocks away as well as other things. My family and I always saw and see great potential in this house. Early in the mourning you see people getting ready for work or school. Children walking to school with their parents. Throughout the day its pretty calm. Everybody knows everybody. We know are neighbors and invite one another to our houses or help one another as well. A lot of people do not look behind what they see. Some may get hood shock when they see the area or because of its name Barrio Logan, but its a good place. There is a lot of history here its historic. Because of this eight houses down a San Diego city assembly man owns a house here. Its a working class neighborhood. That’s why we love it so much. Not only that its near downtown, parks or whatever we want to do. During Friday nights sometimes Petco park throws a show of fireworks and we can see it from the house. We lived in San Diego for many years now and we don’t plan on leaving this area because of its diversity and what it has to offer.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
We liked this home because it was old. It was built in 1923. It has arched ceilings when you enter the dinning room and living room as well as the hall way. We also liked the porch. Its a good place to sit down and just watch what’s going on in the neighborhood. The yard in the front was big too as well as the back yard. The back yard was one of the biggest in the neighborhood until we decided to build the back house. Overall we liked the house it has character and it fit our needs.
