Very nice views in a peaceful country location --driveway is immediately on Highway 21/190 but hilltop yard drops down to house which is sheltered from traffic noise. Cattle, deer, birds, butterflies, and other happy surprises. Working ranch.

Convenient from Houston or Dallas areas going on I 45 and taking Madisonville exit (Hwy. 21) to the west through Madisonville and 11 miles further through the small community of North Zulch. Just a few miles west of North Zulch turn right/north in front of the BIG blue barn.

Or, coming from College Station take the east bypass Hwy.6 north through Bryan and take the Hwy. 21/190 exit and go east all the way past the Navasota River, then go 3.5 miles further and turn left, north, in the driveway in front of the BIG blue barn.

There are some country shortcuts when you know the area.

Fun along the way--Sam's Restaurant in Fairfield coming from DFW area; Woodbine Restaurant in Madisonville (wonderful weekday east Texas plate at lunch); Edge Store at Edge (call me for directions) great jalapeno burgers, not hot, and milkshakes and live country music some nights; Messina Hof winery as you drive toward Bryan on 21 (call me for specific directions or ask someone in the area); downtown Bryan area, full of fun shops and wonderful food locations-try the Village Cafe for good coffee or the LaSalle Hotel cafe for breakfast; Bush Library and ....lots of other places.

I was unable to get the marker on the site map to stay where it belongs--but, I am working on it.

Shopping--excellent boutique/nice Witte's End in the Kroger Shopping Center on Rock Prairie Road off Texas 6 south College Station. Expensive/fun/some good sales sometimes.

Manager info

Year Purchased: 2006

About: I am an early female graduate of TAMU. I graduated in 1969/1970--they changed the graduation from after the new year to before Christmas soon afterwards. Confused. My husband, Bill, recently deceased, and I lived in the Bryan/College Station area many years. He grew up here, and I came in high school. He served in the military, and we were gone a few years to Virginia . We came back and he worked in office and commercial furnishings/office supplies-Maniord Office Products and Maniord Executive Furniture. We moved in 1987 and were gone for 16 years, following my job as an investigator/ investigator supervisor with OPM, Office of Federal Investigations and later, USIS, to several locations, including Santa Fe, Dallas, and San Antonio. We returned in 2002 when I retired and bought the ranch, which Bill called Shepherd Creek Ranch. We lived in College Station, but enjoyed lots of family time at the ranch.

Why College Station:
It was bought as an investment property after we sold land which had been in the family In Robertson Co. and Limestone Co. It has been a wonderful experience which we were blessed to have had.

The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
Out of the rush--but a quick ride to TAMU---around 25 minutes to my house in south College Station. There are lots of good restaurants in Bryan and College Station. Messina Hof Winery is just down the road. Enjoy the sports at A&M and the many activities, such as the Bush Library.
