This 1400+ sq. ft. home is situated within a few miles of Lake Tahoe and Heavenly Valley. The home is nestled amongst the pines and surrounded by Conservancy lots. It has large decks and a fenced backyard ready for outdoor living. Enter the home and you will immediately feel the charm of an older Tahoe 'cabin,' but with the amenities of modern day living. The wood floors, beamed ceilings and river rock fireplace add to the ambiance of this arts and crafts themed home. The recently remodeled kitchen features granite counter tops, arts and crafts cabinetry and new appliances. The dining area seats six at the table with three additional chairs for counter dining. In the great room which is furnished with lovely arts and crafts furnishings is a color TV, iPod dock and WiFi. One downstairs bedroom, LEAF, features a leaf/tree motif in greens and browns with a queen bed, 1930's armoire, crystal chandelier, lovely seating area and beamed ceiling and wood floor. Trees and birds are featured in this room. The other downstairs bedroom, WILDFLOWER, features a floral theme in greens, blues and yellows with two twin beds and an antique dresser and nightstand. A Wildflower painting and bird and floral prints compliment the decor. It has a wood floor and beamed ceiling with a charming vintage chandelier. The downstairs bathroom is also newly remodeled and features a tumbled marble floor and porcelain and glass tiled tub/shower combination and new cabinetry. There is a washer/dryer in the bathroom closet. The large upstairs consists of the master bedroom, NEST, and the adjacent bedroom, RIVER, and a second bathroom. The romantic NEST bedroom has a king size bed with a vintage comforter and pillows, two dressers and tables adorned with designer lamps and decorative art. The bed floats in the center of the room with a large crystal chandelier above. A comfy chair completes this getaway room - a fabulous cozy room just made for reading or taking a nap. The RIVER bedroom is equally as large and has two twin beds. A blow-up bed is available to sleep an additional person. RIVER is done in blues and greens with artwork depicting nature. It has a nice seating area as well as an amazing crystal chandelier. The French doors in this room lead to an upper deck with lounges and a table and chairs. This deck can be accessed from the backyard as well. Luxury bedding and linens abound and there are decorator touches and art in every room. The front and back yards are beautifully landscaped. The fenced backyard is fully appointed with several areas for seating and dining. There is also an intimate firepit area to keep everyone cozy as fall approaches.

I would defiantly recommend this house! We stayed there for New Year holidays and liked it very much. You really don't need to bring anything with you because this house has everything you need to feel comfortable (extra towels, blankets, kitchen supplies, shampoos, you name it.. it's there:))). The interior of the house is even more beautiful then it is on the pictures. The living room is a bit small, but we didn't have any trouble to fit our company of 8 people there (just pull some chairs from the dining area or use bar stools for extra seating). It's in the nice location and is about 15 minutes drive to Heavenly and casinos. Crista is a nice person to work with. GREAT TAHOE HOUSE!

About the owner: Gary and Crista Dixon chose South Lake Tahoe for a vacation property because Lake Tahoe is one of the most beautiful places in the country. They live in El Dorado Hills which is about 90 minutes from the property. The couple and their family use this as their personal vacation home and do vacation rentals as well. Gary is a painting contractor in the Sacramento region and Crista is retired corporate warrior from hi tech. She is now doing what she feels passionate about - designing jewelry and philanthropy. She also manages this property which she personally decorated and hopes you will enjoy!
Why the Owner Chose North Upper Truckee 1:
Not only is Lake Tahoe pristine, but the weather is spectacular as Tahoe receives 300 days a year of sunshine with low humidity. Outdoor activities abound with hiking, cycling, water sports, skiing, snowboarding etc., etc., etc. Combined with casino gaming and live entertainment, Tahoe becomes an unbeatable vacation spot for everyone in the family. This home is at a lower elevation with less snow and driving issues. The property is at the base of the Summit and is two miles from Highway 50. In the summer the home is a few short miles from three beaches and many other activities, shopping and restaurants. The Dixons fell in love with this property and held out for it during an 8 1/2 month short sale. They love its 'cabin' feeling with the hardwood floors and beamed ceilings. They also like the large rooms upstairs with their charming dormer windows and ample light. The upstairs deck and the garden deck also provide various seating and dining areas. The long deep wooded lot surrounded by three Conservancy lots gives them the space and serenity the forest provides. Two new bathrooms, a renovated kitchen, a new driveway, and front and back landscaping have been completed over the last year. A lovely firepit area has been added as well. Much of the landscaping they have done themselves. The property has truly been a labor of love.
