Cosy, Comfortable Stone Farm Cottages with Sea and Mountain Views - Annie's cottage
- Minimum stay:3-7 nights
- Internet:No
- Pets allowed:Yes
- Wheel chair accessible:No
River Farm comprises two cottages for rental - ANNIES COTTAGE, sleeping 6 and one of the most popular holiday cottages in Kerry and RIVER COTTAGE, sleeping 4 - an original Kerry Farmhouse that has been lovingly renovated and updated over the last ten years. Both cottages are surrounded by fields and a small stream runs through the property. It is very safe for children as both cottages are approached via a small ‘dead end’ lane which runs up to the mountain behind the cottages. The owners fields are occupied by pet sheep and lambs (in season), together with donkeys and free range hens. Views of the sea are possible from the garden as well as from Annie’s Cottage. Inch Beach with it's four miles of white sand and dunes(and increasingly a surfing and paragliding mecca) is no more than 15 minutes drive, whilst the beauty of Killarney National Park and it's lakes are also within easy reach. A local grocery shop (8am to 10pm, daily) is only 10 mins. walk away. Dogs are welcome.
Proximity to the best Kerry attractions and sites: Annie's Cottage is ideally situated for Killarney National Park, and the Kerry Way, the Dingle Peninsula and Tralee.
A 30 minute drive will allow you to visit Muckross House, the famous Killarney Lakes, Angel Falls, Ross Castle, the old Copper mInes, the Gap of Dunloe and Kate Kearney's Cottage as well as walk throughout the beautiful meadows, mountains and woods of Killarney National Park.
From Killarney you can embark on the Kerry Way by foot or cycle or drive to the end of the Ring of Kerry (and back) visiting Killorglin, Glebeigh, Caherciveen, Valentia Island, Waterville, Caherdaniel, Sneem and Kenmare - a memorable journey indeed.
Similar excursions by car and foot can take place on the Dingle Peninsular discovering the wild scenery, breathtaking mountain passes and white sandy beaches. This peninsular also has the highest concentration of megalithic sites in Europe.
A catalogue of festivals - food, music, culture, film and horseracing - take place throughout the year

Your cottage enabled us to have a sweet time together: me with my two youngest daughters. This was a space for walks in the wind and rain, a few movies, some rich conversations and needed rest. May your gift of home & hospitality continue to be a blessing. Again, our thanks!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Had a great time! Enjoyed especially THE ANVIL and SAMMY'S at Inch Beach. Thoroughly enjoyed the scenery and beauty, especially Gap of Dunloe. Had one sunny day but even with grey skies and rain, it was a pleasant vacation.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Thank you very much for a wonderful stay. We felt right at home from the moment we arrived at Annie's Cottage. Every holiday home should have a dog and donkies as great as Yala, Elijah and Elisha. We won't hesitate to recommend 'Annie's' cottage to anyone travelling this way. Thanks a million for everything again.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Annie's Cottage was a great place to stay. Sammy's restaurant was really good and they have wifi! If you just go and ride around Ireland, it's so cool! We went on the beach in the middle of January and it was still awesome; it was quite hot as the sun was out. It wasn't even busy and if you go anywhere in Ireland in the off season, its a lot less money! But we are going/hoping to come back in the summer to climb the mountains and such!!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Hello Nick and Family! Thank you for an excellent "home" during our vacation in Ireland. We found the Dingle Peninsula amazing. It was a short drive to Killarney National Forest and Muck Ross House which we enjoyed immensely as well as the Ring of Kerry. The Dingle Peninsula in itself was fabulous to explore and we always felt like we were home when we returned to the cottage. Your recommendations of places to visit and helpfulness in every way made our stay with you a highlight of our trip. We really enjoyed Sammy's Restaurant at Inch Beach and it was only a short trip down the road. We had plenty of room in Annie's Cottage for each of us to have our own beds, and privacy. We enjoyed having our breakfasts at the cottage and then exploring during the day. I would recommend these accommodations to anyone who is traveling and wants to settle down in one place for awhile. Thanks so Much! I want to see more of Ireland. MaryAnn (Jean, Jane and Katharine).Owner response: Yet more happy guests!! We loved the bonhomie with this particular group of ladies and it was nice to be able to share our wealth of local knowledge with people who, like us, enjoy the scenery, the exploration, the great outdoors and the sights and delights of the Dingle Peninsula.

Ireland is lovely. Dingle is breathtaking and Annie's Cottage was our little 'home'. Till we meet again! Woof to Yala (the dog) - our greeter and her kitty friends. I didn't miss my own 'boys' quite so much. (Mary Ann) Thank you very much for the wonderful stay at Annie's Cottage (Jane)Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Thank you so much for your hospitality - we loved Annie's cottage, looking forward to coming back every day. The views from every part of the house are stunning! The colours and design brighten up even the foggiest, coldest days. We were sorry to miss meeting Anne - hopefully on our next visit! Yala (the dog) and the cats kept us from missing our menagerie at home too much. The donkeys consumed lots of carrots and made me laugh a lot. We travelled the Peninsula and loved every part of every day. Steve took many pictures around the cottage and I am sure he will send the best of them to you. Again, many thanks!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0
