This custom styled dwelling is only 19 miles from the finest beaches in Hawaii and only five minutes away from great snorkeling and seasonal whale watching. Delight in this rainbow countryside with the clearest vog free skies of all Hawaii Nei. Trade winds and low elevation make for ideal comfortable temperatures and bright blue skies. This location is as close to the beach as you can be in Hawi.
This independent cottage is new and custom built with high quality surfaces of granite, marble, sandstone, onyx, tile, copper, bamboo, and locally salvaged hardwoods. The space is practical, clean, and well ventilated with lots of natural day light, and gorgeous warm evening lighting. The fully equipped kitchen features a high quality water filter, dishwasher, gas range/oven, large fridge with filtered ice maker, dual elevation counter tops and serving bar. The patio has a grill and great sunset views. The cottage can comfortably accommodate 2 couples or a couple with 3-4 kids. There is a plush queen bed in the main bedroom with its own bathroom. There is a second queen bed in the living room, which works well as a second bedroom by closing the sliding glass door and curtains, blocking sound and light from the kitchen and opens to its own bathroom. The long sectional couch is a comfortable spot for kids to crash out on, and there is also a single fold up futon. Lots of pillows, sheets and blankets are provided. There is a built in desk and wireless high speed internet throughout the property.
The cottage is located in a pastoral setting of 3.5 acres with a magnificent banyan tree. So come throw a Frisbee, fly a kite, and beat your friends and family at croquet or bocce ball. Our main goal at Kokoiki Cottage is to provide you with a great livable space and support your vacation needs. We can provide the best massage therapists on the island and guarantee their work 100%. The living room easily accommodates two tables for couples massage. Hawi town is only 2 miles away for you to enjoy great restaurants, coffee shops, delis, galleries, and one of the best small town supermarkets where you can find island grass fed beef, fresh fish and local produce. Shop for lilikois, papayas, bananas, coconuts, lychee, mangoes, pineapples and more at Local Farmer’s Markets. The Volcano National Park is a 3 hour drive away. The Kona airport is just about 45 minutes away, though you may never want to leave this Big Island paradise.

This cottage is beautiful--inside and out. The craftsmanship and attention to detail made me want to stay forever. The pictures are very accurate. I loved sitting out on the back lanai every morning and evening after our days activities. Miguel, the owner was very helpful with suggestions. Our best hike on the big island was due to his referral. The cottage is easy to get to from the main road yet absolutely quiet and peaceful. The grounds are large, private, and beautiful. I appreciated how spotlessly clean it was inside and out and it would be my first choice of lodging if I was to return to the Big Island.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

This cottage was beautifully decorated--fairly new. Very comfortable bed and nice kitchen and living areas. The location was central to whale watching areas, parks, beaches, shopping areas, etc. The owner was very helpful and answered all our questions. Great directions provided and easy exchange for payment. Highly recommend the cottage for short or longer stay on the north Kahalo coast!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

A tremendous "find" for us. A perfect home base for all our Hawaii activities, and a wondrous respite throughout the day. We enjoyed our stay at Kokoiki Cottage. The cottage was spacious and comfortable for our family of four. The children were free to run and play outside on the expansive property. The owner was attentive and kind. A great spot from which to explore the Island with local beaches just a short drive away (15-20 minutes). We loved our stay at this fabulous property. It was just finished, done with beautiful details, and spacious and comfortable. The owner was wonderful and I would highly recommend the cottage. The Kokoiki Cottage was perfect! The home was exceptionally clean and comfortable. The owner was helpful and conscientious. This was a wonderful place to relax and explore the island from. The restaurants in Hawi are delicious. We were lucky enough to be able to stay 3 weeks, and only wish we could stay longer. Kokoiki Cottage is brand new with tile floors, granite counter tops, and a beautiful natural wood bar. The bathrooms are tile, and the cottage has all new appliances. Yes, the cottage is as nice as the photos. This is the perfect getaway for people wanting to relax and enjoy all of the comforts of home while exploring the Big Island.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
