Nestled under 300 year old oak trees, across from a 7 acre greenspace and 1 mile from the cool waters of Barton Springs, you will find your cozy 1150 sq ft vacation getaway. Monthly stays welcome! Deep in the heart of Austin, Texas you can enjoy the best lifestyle this city has to offer.
Stay with us in October and enjoy the 3-day ACL Music Festival. The home is located within walking distance to Zilker Park where the festival is held each year. Trust us...you don't want to deal with having to park a car on the festival grounds! Enjoy Barton Springs (also walking distance) which is a spring-fed pool. On the other side of the pool is a large park complete with picnic tables and a huge playground for children complete with a train that circles around the park. Enjoy sno cones as you lay out on the banks of the pool. For those more active, jog or bike on the Town Lake trails or rent a canoe. Nearby restaurants include Shady Grove (family friendly local place which often has live music), Austin Java, Uncle Billy's BBQ and microbrew, Chuy's Tex-Mex, Baby A's Tex-Mex (home of the purple margarita), Daily Juice and Flipnotics Coffee.
Head east a few blocks to shop in the nearby South Congress (Soco) district. Find thrift stores, vintage shops, a costume store, candy stores, tons of antiques and homemade items, clothing stores, retro toy stores, and lots of locally owned boutiques. Grab a pizza at Homeslice, enjoy Tex-Mex at Guerro's Taco Bar, relax at Sunday brunch at South Congress Cafe or the Woodland, bring your appetite to the delicious Vespaio Restaruant, see a local band at the Continental Club, play a round of mini-golf at Peter Pan Golf, or check out a play at Zach Scott Theater. Don't forget to stop on the South Congress bridge and check out the bats!
South 1st Street is also a few blocks from the home and is a street lined with authentic Mexican pastry shops, antique stores, record stores, boutiques and Polvo's Mexican Restaurant.
A 5 minute drive will get you to the heart of downtown where you can visit the world famous 6th Street, home of wall-to-wall bars and live music every night of the week. Eat, drink...even catch a movie at Alamo Drafthouse. Visit the new 2nd Street Shopping District to catch a movie and shop local boutiques as well as high-end specialty stores. There are dozens of cafes, coffee houses, bars and restaurants to suit every taste imaginable. If you would like a chaufferred tour of downtown Austin, hop aboard the Austin Duck Tour which is a boat-on-wheels! The tour guide will fill you in on Austin history while driving you around the downtown area and ultimately into the lake for a quick boat ride near Hula Hut and Mozarts Coffeehouse before returning you to your original destination.
Looking for a 24-hour eatery? Check out Magnolia Cafe (try the Magnolia Mud or the pancakes) or Kerby Lane Cafe.
Looking for something for the kids? Check out the Scottish Rite Theater for a variety of live plays such as Peter Pan, cool them off in the many splash-pads around town, take them for a dip at Deep Eddy Pool (they offer movies there during the summer), catch some live music at Blues on the Green or visit the numerous parks throughout the city.
Coming to Austin in November? Check out the Formula One Races! You can also let the kids enjoy the Chuy's holiday parade down South Congress.
Coming in March? Then you can't miss SXSW Interactive, Film and Music Festival which is March 8-17th!
If you need any tips on where to go and what to see...just ask! We are happy to make recommendations!
You will find everything you need in the home, from fresh linens and towels to a kitchen stocked with cooking supplies and utensils. We provide DirectTV Satellite and wireless internet.

Great little home in a quite, nice neighborhood. Amenitites were as described and the house was well kept upon arrival. There was a nice backyard with a grill and tables and even a washer-dryer! The house was a perfect weekend getaway for us. The house was clean and all the amenities listed were provided and easy to find. The owner is very responsive and very patient. I had all my questions, more like pestering answered on time and they were very prompt and quick to refund the deposit. We really enjoyed our stay and the surrounding area. It's on a hill overlooking Austin and it is very peaceful and quiet. It is close to natural park and garden like Umlauf garden and Zilker park.Did you find this review helpful? I would like to say thank you for the great accommodation. This property was very clean and well suit for our arrival. This property is a great option if you'd like to stay very close to downtown and enjoy all that Austin has to offer. During out stay we did not need any assistance since the house was ready and had everything its specifies. I would really recommend this property to someone and hopefully I can stay again next year.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Duplex was in a great location and had a nice contemporary look. Bedrooms were spacious. House was very clean. The owner owns both duplexes so the entire family rented out both for convenience. Yard was nice for the kids to run around. Definately recommended for families or a nice getaway for the week.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

We had a great and relaxing time @ Rabb Rd. All basics are present and beds are very comfortable. The house is located at a very peaceful and quiet corner lot with a private fenced yard where our dog relaxed under the tree. Distance to Downtown Austin, Parks, Shops, night live and not to forget Great Restaurants were just a 5 - 10 minute ride by bike. (Rent a bike @ Bike Sports shop on Lamar Blvd) We would recommend this vacation rental to active age mid 40 - 60 without small kids. We certainly are planning to come back in the near future. And before we forget, the price is very fair.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway.
Owner response: Thanks for your review, we work hard to maintain a consistent, clean, and fun atmosphere in our rentals. We are always updating with new accessories. I hope you enjoyed our new HD flatscreen and the beautiful custom Texas bar we just put in. We look forward to having you back. Sincerely, Prima Vacation Rentals

This was a perfect house for three generations of adults to stay, one of whom uses a wheelchair. We were impressed by the cleanliness and more than adequate supply of linens, towels and kitchen equipment. All of us enjoyed the artwork and retro decor. We plan to return to Austin and hope this home will be available when our plans are finalized. The location is perfect: close to many restaurants and to downtown, yet situated in a quiet and pretty area of town.Recommended for: Sightseeing, people with disabilities, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, families with young children, girls getaway.

We stayed at the Rabb Rental for 4 days and had a great time. Barton Springs is really close and easy to walk to...we went every day! I liked all the cookware that was provided in the kitchen, made it easy to cook up dinners or breakfast. The owner was very easy to work with and recommended we try Chuys Tex Mex nearby. It was great! Definitely recommend to anyone wanting a rental in a fantastic location.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

We stayed at the "Rabb cottage" (my 3 year old's name for it) for two weeks over the holidays. Carlos the owner was terrific -- responsive to our needs, great about answering all my questions. We loved going to Zilker Park and Zilker Elem playground nearby every day. Loved all the tacos joints nearby too, plus terrific for walking, movies, juice joints, etc. Pros about house: plush linens, great water pressure, beautiful morning light in kitchen, my preschool son loved the big yard. It's small and modest (flooring and doors are older, thus tired) but charming (fun retro furniture, cool red kitchen table). It's a good fit for a family on a budget. Enjoy!Recommended for: Families with young children.
