Just renovated, Lamb Cove cottage is situated on the historic St. Croix River (saltwater) just ten miles (16 kilometers) south of Calais. It sits at the end of a cul-de-sac two-tenths of a mile (.32 kilometers) off route #1 and one-tenth of a mile (.16 kilometers) from the owners summer cottage. Canada and the Passamaquoddy Tribe being just minutes away this cottage is the perfect spot for a three nation vacation.
Experience the highest tides in the continental USA, explore unspoiled Washington County, relax with a fire on the beach, and view historic St. Croix Island and Canada from your front patio. Eagles, ospreys, and seals frequent the river. Children love to explore the beach at low tide looking for beach glass and intertidal creatures. One can swim in the river. The water is not as warm as nearby lakes(2 miles). If you want privacy, solitude, and salt air this is your place.
Owner operates Up Close Tours and one lobster trapping trip is included in the rental. You are welcome to bring your canoe, kayak, or boat for your personal usage. There is a launching ramp for boats just 2 miles south of Lamb Cove Cottage.
Rental weeks start and end on Sundays. Check in after 2 PM and check out no later than 10 AM.
Payment may be made with personal check. $400.00 security deposit will be refunded after inspection of property when the cottage is vacated.

The description of Lambs Cove is as portrayed it is on the end of a penninsular with the Cove out the back windows and the River out the front with great views up and down the River. The photos are accurate but they do not capture the full scope of the river particularly the changes brought by the dramatic tide. The property was very clean and well maintained and Louis was always available to answer any questions and take care of any concerns. During our stay we were on the water every day with our kayaks, boat, the ferry loop out of Eastport and Whale watching out of Head Harbor. Lambs Cove is a great way to spend a week and I would highly recommend this property.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, pet owners, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, adventure seekers.

My wife and I have come to Lamb Cove for the past three summers, and already have our reservation for this year. It's worth the two-day drive from Maryland. The location is both scenic and historical: the view from the cottage is of the St. Croix River (the US-Canada border at that point) and the St. Croix Island, the site of the first European settlement north of Florida, now a national park. It's an easy walk from the cottage down to the beach, although first-timers should be aware that this is a Maine beach, i.e., a geologist's paradise of rocks. (Swimming is permitted, but the water, as the owner's information folder points out, is not warm.) We would be happy to recommend this property to anyone (but only after we've made our own reservations). The listing information--including the photograph--is accurate and the cottage itself is spotless.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, pet owners, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, adventure seekers.
