This finely appointed home was built in 1998 and is perfect for a special getaway, a Honeymoon, a cozy week or weekend on the lake with friends, a fishing trip, or a weekend exploring wine country . The neighboring properties are set back behind the property and are shielded by trees, providing an unusual amount of privacy for a lake property. Take a swim off the large floating dock or paddle a kayak back around the bay, then sit in the sun on the lawn or one of the lower level decks. Time to be out of the sun? Just move to the upper deck and sit back and enjoy the views in the shade of towering hardwoods. Bring a boat or rent one from one of the two marinas on the bay. Tie up to the dock, or the deep water mooring. This is a distinctive property with cherry and maple woodwork throughout. The large expanse of glass on each level provides panoramic views from every room. All the appointments reflect a subtle luxury. Marble counters, stainless steel appliances, roughhewn beams, quality furnishings and new (2012) housewares provide for an exceptional experience. The master bedroom is equipped with a queen bed and there is a double bed in the loft. There are two full baths. Entertainment options include a 32” flat screen TV, DVD/CD player, cable, and wireless internet, or view the night sky with a 4.5” Dobsonian telescope.
Want to get out and about? Take a car or boat to Fair Haven, or spend a few more minutes to arrive at Sodus Bay. Both locations offer restaurant and shopping options. Looking for a sandy beach, the West Barrier Bar Park is only 2 miles away by car, and half that by boat and Fair Haven State Park is only a few miles away and both offer sone of the best beaches in New York. During July and August you may want to visit the Sterling Renaissance Fair and watch a joust or sample the fare. Numerous golf courses can be found within a half hour drive. The main thoroughfare in Red Haven, Rt 104A is part of the Historic and Scenic Seaway Trail. Travel north to Oswego and Sandy Creek and visit Fort Oswego and other points of historic interest, including the 1000 Islands. Or if you have a taste for wine, visit one of the numerous vineyards along the Lake Ontario shoreline and the Finger Lakes region, including the Lake Affect Vineyard, 50 yards from the property.
Then there is fishing. From rod-bending Chinooks and steelhead to tasty walleyes and panfish, Lake Ontario has it all. It’s the reason the pros come back year after year and scores of families have made open-water excursions an annual tradition. Lake Ontario offers some of the best and most picturesque fresh water fishing in the world. Bring your own boat, or enjoy a day charter with one of several charter boats located on the bay.

My stay at this lovely property was everything I had hoped for--solitude, quiet beauty and ease of living. Everything has been carefully considered, from the plush bath towels to the elegant wine glasses to the playful painted roosters decorating the downstairs mantle. The kitchen is equipped with everything one needs and more, all of it the most functional and pleasing. I found myself taking notes--of glassware I liked, a certain pan, even the type of dish soap! Every room has it's own individual charm. The views, from the expansive main deck as well as from each room, are stunning. The property's position on the Bay gives it a delightfully protected feeling, yet you view the great expanses of water all the way to the Lake Ontario. There are lovely walks (jogs or runs!), an expansive uncrowded beach to wile away an afternoon, a vineyard out back. There wasn't much call to leave the cottage, but dinner at O'Connors Main Street Pub in Fair Haven proved a special treat. This property is exceptional. To say it is well-maintained in every way and absolutely spotless is an understatement!Recommended for: Age 55+, sightseeing, girls getaway, romantic getaway, families with young children.

Beautiful home with a fabulous view of Little Sodus Bay. The kitchen was well supplied with plenty of cooking items. The house was very clean and well maintained. The owners left a nice bottle of wine to welcome us after a long drive. We had an excellent time and were sad to leave.Owner response: Delighted you enjoyed your stay. If time permits, come back during the summer when you can take advantage of the wide variety of water related activities.

We just finished our stay yesterday, and I can honestly say that it couldn't have been nicer. I realize that Nov. is not the best time to visit Lake Ontario, in fact we had to delay by a few days due to Hurricane Sandy. The owners were very accommodating to our change, and the house was immaculate, well furnished, and well equipped. I would definitely recommend this house to anyone is looking for a stay on the Lake.Recommended for: Age 55+, sightseeing, girls getaway, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.
