Great place and customer service
Great place and customer service
We had a wonderful time at this beautiful and peaceful home right on the lake, with great views from the upper deck, lower deck, and adirondack chairs right out on the beach. We took advantage of the renter guide provided at the house with recommendations of things to do, used the kayaks provided to explore the local shore and waters, and tried the new restaurant in town, Lelu's, which we highly recommend. They had great food with fresh ingredients, live jazz on Friday and Saturday night, which was great. We biked to the Grand Traverse Lighthouse, and attended local events. Luann, who manages the property, and her team were all super friendly and accommodating and did everything they could to insure we had a great experience. I would rent again in a heartbeat!

Wonderful, comfortable vacation home! Our family thoroughly enjoyed the week sunning on a fabulous deck overlooking the spectacular bay. There was plenty of kayaking, biking, sunning, games and grilling out, as well as exploring nearby parks and the lighthouse. Loved the birds singing and watching deer every day.Fire pit was a nice bonus. Bring water shoes if using the beach in front of the house. Tiny shells have taken over the sand and there are rocks in the water, which we did not expect in Northport. Not a problem for us with older teens. Fantastic place well maintained, and very clean with a very good property management company overseeing renters needs. The week went too fast and we would love to return to this cottage in Northport.

Wonderful clean house with beautiful artwork. Deck was fabulous!!! Enjoyed the close access to both the beach and woods. My dog was in heaven!! Great shopping and you must go to Mawby and have a sparkling flight! Comfortable beds and didn't really think I needed air conditioning but boy was I glad I had it.

Wonderful home and location!
Wonderful home and location!
The house and location were wonderful -- quiet road, nice walking paths, friendly neighborhood. The house was CLEAN and the bathrooms were way above average for a vacation home. The kitchen was well outfitted, and even included things like plastic wrap and aluminum foil. Washer and dryer worked just fine. The only negatives were the beach and the water: the beach is made primarily of crushed shells which were too sharp to walk on with bare feet. And the algae prevented us from going in the water -- that is NOT the fault of this particular house -- the algae was EVERYWHERE, even the public beaches. It was just not a good year for algae on the bay side. The home is about an hour from Sleeping Bear Dunes and the view of Lake Michigan from the top of the dunes is beyond description, truly awesome. And it was nice to have a decent grocery store within a 10 minute drive (Tom's, in Northport). Northport also has some very nice, small stores to enjoy browsing through. Sutton's Bay, further south but not so far as to make a drive too long, was also a wonderful place to shop; here, we had wonderful gelato at a small coffee shop (sorry -- forgot the name). Other amenities at the house included kayaks, a pool table, a Ping-Pong table, and bikes. The stay was definitely worth the rental fee; the manager did her job excellently!

Owner response: Thank You for the great review! When there is a lack of rain, algae can build up in certain areas. It's now gone for the most part. Reminding all renters, water shoes play an important part for safety on any beach.
