  We - a family with 2 sons (10 and 12) from Belgium - had a wonderfull stay in Ipanema Queen Silva loft. The appartment has a great view on Ipanema, Leblon, Lake Lagoa and the surrounding hills and and at every moment you can enjoy this stunning view. The appartment is very spacious and has everything you need, incl washing machine, hair dryer, ... and even a Nespresso machine. The kitchen is open and it is very pleasant to sit at the kitchen table. The appartment has a guard like most of the buildings in Ipanema, it is for sure a very safe place to stay. The owner of the appartment, Petra, is just great! She is very helpful and friendly, she provides you with a map with all kinds of tips and suggestions for great restaurants and a variey of things to do in Rio, and for all your questions you can easily contact her with a mobile phone that is at your disposal during your stay. A marvelous appartment in a marvelous city!

  Loft was perfect only a few blocks from the beach, good eats, and wonderful people. I recommend this to anyone staying in Impanema. Very easy check in and great service. We will be staying here again next time in Rio.

  We stayed in this apartment in April and just loved it: it is a very modern and stylish apartment, in a great neighbourhood (Ipanema is really the place to be in Rio!), with fantastic views and easy access to the beach and restaurants. We also really appreciated the professionalism and genuine warmth of the Rio Bay Housing team. At check in, we received a warm welcome from Inge, who was really helpful. Throughout our stay, we could email or call the team and we always received a prompt reply with answers to our questions and advice about where to go, what to do, booking tours for us etc. Although our Portuguese is close to non-existant, we felt very welcome in the building. We even had a nice chat with some of the neighbours. We loved feeling "like a local", staying in a residential building instead of an anonymous expensive hotel..(By the way this apartment is a very good deal when you compare with the hotel rates in Ipanema!). Overall a very good experience and we will surely recommend this apartment to any friend who plans to visit Rio. Thanks again for making our holiday unforgettable!

  The views were good, looking over the city towards the lagoon and the mountains, and the apartment is situated in a superb location, very safe, with guards on the door 24/7, and close to all amenities: beach, shops, restaurants etc. The apartment is nice, although the layout probably best suited to younger people - we had understood there were two bedrooms, but in fact one bedroom is actually on a raised platform accessed from the living room by steps with no railing, which could be dangerous for older people. The separate bedroom was dark and the window opened onto the interior trash area so let in smells! Our feeling was that this apartment could do with some sprucing up and upgrading of furniture and fittings. Finding drawers full of random controls for tvs, stereos etc. that do not work was frustrating. The management and the taxi service were very good however and everything went very smoothly from that point of view. Patrice & Cynthia

We are happy to hear that you loved the location of the apartment (indeed a top location in Ipanema) and the view of the apartment is indeed great, especially at sunset. We are very sorry to hear that you had understood there were two bedrooms and you had the feeling the apartment is best suited for younger people. Although we had some older clients who were very enthousiastic about their stay in this apartment before, we will from now on provide some extra information about our mezzanine and be more alert on the age of our clients (as we already do with children, children under the age of 12 are not allowed). Since we never received any complaints about smells in our guestsuite, we discussed with the management of the building what could have happened during your stay. Normally trash is being removed right away, so it doesn't let in smells in the guestsuite. We are very sorry it bothered you and will make sure this will not happen again in the future. The remote controls have been checked and some batteries have been replaced, so all of them are working again. There is indeed a separate remote control for the BOSE sound system that only works for clients who have brought their ipod with them. We hope you have had a good stay after all and thank you for the compliments of our management and taxi service! In the end, we would like to thank you for your stay and contribution.
