With over 6000 square feet of living space, as well as an additional 1600 feet of outdoor decks, its easy to enjoy the fresh mountain experience.
Indigenious wildlive is the inspiration for Wolf's Den interior decor. Photography of local scenery and animals enhance the home to feel like it was born from the earth. It brings a feeling of the outside in and creates a cosy mountain feeling. All the furniture is top quality and brand new to create an atmosphere you would expect in an upscale vacation home.
The main living area includes a living room with a fireplace and 47 flat screen TV. This room is open to a fully equipped gourmet kitchen. Beside the kitchen is the dining area that seats sixteen at a large country table which allows everyone to eat together. Outside on the deck there are two tables and 16 chairs. The lower level of the house is the perfect place for entertainment or sleeping. Here you will find a regulation Brunswick pool table, poker table, wet bar fireplace and a flat screen TV as well as a second fireplace. Sliding doors bring you out to a new deck containing a table and eight chairs. Take the stairs down to a large 104 jet outdoor hot tub . There are two sleeper sofas and a large bathroom. This level of the house is the perfect place to enjoy football games, movies or just relax by the fireplace with your favorite beverage.
The 2.5 acre lot is flat and can easily accommodate multiple cars for parking. An extra benefit is an outdoor firepit for relaxing and toasting marshmallows with the kids.
One of the best features of this home is the location. Boone, Blowing Rock, and Banner Elk are all within 15 minutes. This is the 7th year I have rented a house in the NC mountains for my children (3+spouses) and 3 grandchildren over the Thanksgiving holiday. This home is, by far, the most beautiful and spacious that we have stayed in. The pictures do not do this home justice. The house if furnished beautifully, with very nice furniture. We had more than enough room for all of the adults to move around the house and in the kitchen. The men enjoyed the pool table and the ladies enjoyed them being in the basement! The fire pit with benches is perfect. We used it every evening. I just can't say enough good things about this home. It is definitely one that we will visit again. The location is perfect as we were 15 minutes from Blowing Rock outlets, which the girls thoroughly enjoyed! So many attractions are close by if you visit in the spring, summer or fall.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway.

We rented this beautiful home in November for our annual Girl's Weekend and we were speechless! This home is not only beautiful and spacious, but the appointments were phenomenal. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen had everything you could possibly imagine, the table was huge, and there were enough bathrooms to get 8 women ready! The home is laid out great with the pool table being on the bottom floor with a full bath, 2 sleeper sofas, and a beautiful deck. My only regret is we did not stay long enough to enjoy all the amenities of this home such as the deck with beautiful views, the fire pit, and the hot tub. We came in late on Friday and left early on Sunday. We were close enough to all the shopping and activities and were able to shop Blowing Rock all day on Saturday then hit downtown Boone on Sunday on the way out. I have already requested next November for the girls and may even try to get an extra day in just to take advantage of all the home has to offer. You must stay here as the pictures do not do this place justice. Thank you Mary for being such a gracious hostess and sharing your home with us. You were so kind and helpful and we so enjoyed our trip.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, adventure seekers, families with young children, girls getaway.

This cabin has tons of room and a spectacular wrap-around deck. The deck has beautiful views of the mountains and is the perfect spot to relax with some wine and friends and family. The interior of the cabin is decorated beautifully, and has the biggest dining room table I've ever seen, including remote-controlled candles that give great ambiance. The pool table and hot tub were brand new and high quality. It would be hard to come here and not have a great time. We loved it!Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with teenagers, age 55+, adventure seekers, girls getaway.

We stayed at Wolf's Den in August 2012. The house is beautifully decorated with exceptional quality and taste. The house is enormous!! We went to Boone with our kids and some family friends who also have kids. There was tons of room for the kids to run around and play. There is a pool table and a great hot tub for older kids and adults and plenty of room to relax on the deck. There is a dining room table that seats about 20 people and more seating on the deck for meals. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. If you have a big family or multiple families with kids this is the house for you. There are so many different levels and rooms that you aren't on top of each other. There is plenty of room for everyone to spend time together and still have their own space. The house is centrally located between downtown Boone, Grandfather Mountain and the ski resorts. There is also a great little par 3 golf course around the corner for dads and a miniature golf course nearby for kids.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

The Unique Benefits at this Farmhouse:
Most of our guests at Brown Bear Retreat are families enjoying each other for a great vacation get to together. Unfortunately we can't accommodate large crowds. Many of our requests for rentals are for more people than we can handle. We watched this house being built in 2009 and when it came on the market we knew it would be perfect for the families we can't accomodate. With 6000 - 7000 feet it can stretch to 20 if need be.
