Oceanfront Condo Built at Water's Edge-Awesome Location
- Minimum stay:N/A
- Internet:Yes
- Pets allowed:No
- Wheel chair accessible:No
This 1800 sq ft, first floor condo is part of an intimate eight unit architectural gem built above the water's edge. The building, swimming pool, lush gardens and adjacent common areas are classic 'Villa' style maintained each day by a professional staff.
Inside this 1st floor unit you will be greeted with panoramic views of the shimmering water, Los Arcos and the coast of Banderas Bay. The solid wood french doors fold away to bring the outdoors in. From the balcony you will feel like you have landed in paradise, in your own private villa, and all you can hear is the surf below.
The well appointed and comfortable living room has a sofa sleeper, occasional chairs, custom furnishings, antiques and original art collected while traveling in Mexico by the owner/interior designer.
Guests will find a well equipped, modern kitchen with all the amenities to create gourmet or casual meals or have a personal chef prepare that special dinner. There are two eating areas - an eating bar off the kitchen and a marble topped table on the living room balcony.
Both bedrooms have king size beds and the Master has both a sitting and office area. All rooms have french doors opening onto their own balcony with pristine views of the bay and Los Arcos. Off the master bedroom there is a large trellis covered patio with hammocks and lounge chairs - perfect for that afternoon siesta or reading a book selected from the library shelves.
One of the magical things about this location is the feeling that you could be on the coast anywhere in the world. The beach in just to the north - and during the summer months full of sand. In the peak season, it requires a lot of rock hopping to access, but well worth the effort.

Rockin' Puerto Vallarta Thanksgiving!

For Thanksgiving 2012 my daughter (20), son (16), my mom and I spent one glorious week in this very special condo which offered true luxury and the most fabulous water front views. The small condo complex was very quiet and relaxing and it offered all of the ammenities we needed plus more! Thanksgiving dinner was cooked in our condo and we ate on the balmy veranda watching the sun set. We took this opportunity to try out as many fun adventures as we could pack in. We found we didn't need a car because the bus picked us up in front of the condo and taxis were plentiful. Walking 5 minutes south of our place were hotels and nice restaurants and fabulous Mismaloya Beach where we baked in the sun, snorkeled, rode jet skis and drank mass margaritas! We hired a ponga boat there for the day with darling "Chaba" at the helm. He took us deep sea fishing where we all caught as many fish as we possibly could! Mahi Mahi, some other white Mexican fish and lots of Albacore. He cleaned everything for us to take home and cook that night and it was delicious! Chaba also took us to the remote town of Yelapa only accessible by boat, where we disembarked and walked a short way up to a waterfall and swam in the cool waters there. We had lunch on the beach where the kids went parasailing. On the way home Chaba took us to the spot where they filmed "The Night of the Iguana" where we practiced cliff diving into the warm, calm waters. Puerto Vallarta Adventures was the tour company we went zip lining and rapelling down waterfalls with. They were focused on safety but were also a delightful crew to spend a few hours with. We went into town a few times and dined at beachfront restaurants, but we really enjoyed cooking in our postcard perfect home, lounging in the dual hammocks and swimming in the incredible pool. This was a complete delight for all of us and one we look forward to repeating! Owner response: i am so thrilled that you had such a wonderful Thanksgiving at the condo -- our family has gone often and always love this time of year. It is still so green from the rainy season - and the fishing is wonderful. We will be inlcuding some pictures so that future guests can see how many fun adventures can be enjoyed

The condo is very comfortable and attractive and the views are amazing. We like to go to the local markets and come back and cook - the kitchen has everything. Dining on the patio over looking the water is the best seat in town and no one is hawking their wares at you! We made reservations on-line to zip line at a place north of the condo - high light of the trip for our kids. We went in to town several times to walk the Malecon, shop and watch the evening shows. It is about a 10-15 min cab ride or an easy bus ride. Even with all there is to do in town my favorite places to be are in the hammocks on the balcony or in the lounges by the pool. We hope to return next year!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car.

What an amazing spot! This was our second visit to this condo and we enjoyed it even more the second time! This condo has everything-especially if you are looking for a rejuvenating get away!! There are views of the ocean and and the sound of the surf from every room! The condo has that secluded feel, almost as if you are in your own home. It is beautifully, but comfortably decorated. The beds are great, but taking a shower with a view of the ocean is over the top and all of the expected amenities are provided! We felt especially safe in this location and in Puerta Vallarta in general. The restaurants and shopping in town were both convenient and wonderful. We are foodies and experienced some extraordinary meals at incredible restaurants! Our favorite spot, however, was on the balcony, enjoying breakfast, cocktail hour or with a good book, just watching the world pass by! A totally relaxing and enjoyable experience.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

My two college age daughters and I stayed at this beautiful condo last summer. The condo is spacious and nicely decorated with amazing ocean views out each room. My youngest daughter saw the guest bedroom and put her suitcase in there and said, "I get the princess room!". The kitchen is large and well appointed with plenty of room for three cooks at once. We ate outside on the patio for breakfasts and lunches. We took the bus into town every afternoon for dinner and then took a cab back after dark. The housekeeper came every day but Sunday and she does not speak much English but Tony does and he was very helpful. We felt very safe while at the condo and touring town. We traveled during Mexican high season and every pool we passed in town was jam-packed with noisy kids and we were smug knowing we had what seemed like our own private villa with a cooling pool with drop dead gorgeous views all to ourselves. We turned on the a/c onlly at night and we were cool enought during the day with the doors wide open to let in the breeze. Puerto Vallarta is a foodies' delight from taco stands to fancy sit down dinners. We ate somewhere new everynight for dinner and there is lots of information in a binder from the owners regarding restaurants and activities. Our favorite activity was a zipline tour that started with a boatride south of town to large 4 X 4 trucks up the hill to a mule ride up more hills then zipping down and getting drenched along the way! I loved the condo so much I am planning a return trip next month.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway, tourists without a car.

What an absolutely fabulous time we had sunning, sightseeing and relaxing during our stay at this perfect romantic getaway! If you are looking for a quiet, dreamy hideaway, you need look no further. The weather was divine, the views from the condo are breathtaking and our children and grandchildren had a ball at the pool and on the beach...as well as on our regular excursions to visit and dine in the city. The restaurants in PV are some of the best we've ever encounteed in all of Mexico, and we always felt safe whether within the confines of the condo or strolling through the beautiful streets of PV. Everything you could possibly need is right at hand...from grocery stores to water escapades to street food and native boutiques to die for. We will surely revisit as often as possible if for no other reason that to stretch out in a waterfront hammock with a good book and an ice cold margarita.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car.

The unit is decorated beautifully with everything one's heart can desire. No crowds at the pool, a hammock to relax in and only minutes from the action in town. Owner info
Year Purchased: 1992
About the owner: Bill and Donna live, worked and are now retired in San Diego California. Donna was a commercial and residential interior designer for 30 years. During her career she used her contacts in Mexico to build her custom designed furniture for many of her design projects. Bill was a respected member of the medical profession. They have two grown, married children and six grandchildren.
Why the Owner Chose South Zone:
On a trip to Puerto Vallarta in 1990, Bill and Donna discovered this building being constructed along the highway and fell in love with the location. They were the second owner to purchase and selected the prime 1st floor unit. A photo album at the condo chronicles the adventure this became. They were and still are drawn to the absolutely spectacular view, peaceful setting, powerful surf and magnificent sunsets.
The Unique Benefits at this Condo:
This unique condo was constructed entirely by hand by local craftsman and built well before the building boom in Vallarta. The windows, doors, and railings are all hardwood, the floors are clay tile or marble. With a designer's eye, Donna has furnished the condo with custom furniture from Guadalajara, original art and accessories from Puerta Vallarta and antiques from travels throughout Mexico. The condo has a warm and inviting feel - a reflection of the casual elegance and comfort that is Mexico - but with updated amenities in the bathrooms and kitchen. The views south will remind you of the coast of Carmel, the views of Los Arcos (the aquatic preserve) will give you whale and dolphin sightings in the winter, the beach to the north will offer amazing snorkeling.
