  My hsuband and I rented this home the year before and really liked it, which was why we returned. Not saying it was perfect but it was clean and had all the bells and whistles. I still had to rent a bike as there were none fit to use ,but not a big deal. This time we came down after a 14 hour drive to find trimmings from trees and branches all over the front steps and area. My husband spent an hour cleaning up. The pool area had a humber of bottle caps and other pieces of trash around. The shower was broken in the 2nd bathroom. All in all it was not in the condition from the year before. We called and reported all the issues. I will say that the owner sent his son to repair the pool fence and other things but he was there for a number of hours and as nice as he is it just cramped our vacation. It was not a good week there compared to the year prior. I cannot recall the exact date we stayed but it was a week during July 2012.

  Owner response: It was unfortunate that our guests arrived at a time when the Island was having an infestation that was killing the Ficus trees. Our tree was losing a large volumn of leaves. We treated it, which saved the tree but it took weeks to lose the infected leaves and green up again. The guest himself admitted that the next day after he had cleaned up the leaves, they had again covered the drive. As noted by the guest, as soon as they notified us of the problem with the shower we immediately took care of it. The pool service and the lawn service generally take care of any unexpected problems immediately as soon as I give them a call. It is our intent to keep the place in top shape and we are continually renovating and upgrading every aspect of the house. We are sorry to hear that our guests had less than a great stay at our place on Marco Island. We do everything we can to make our house a welcoming and comfortable place for a vacation.

  We stayed here in Nov 2010 & this home was wonderful. It was clean, spacious & comfortable. All the amenities were right there at our fingertips, you only need bring your personal belongings & your food of choice. Mark was very helpful & easy to work with, he responded to emails & questions rather quickly. This home was in perfect location to all our activities both on island & off island at the Everglades. I will & have recommended this home as a vacation rental. It is a beautiful home & the canal in the back is just one reason why among the many. Thanks to Mark for letting my family share his home during our vacation & we would do so again.

  Just returned home from a week @ this residence. My husband, son and myself went w/ my friend and her daughter. The house is everything noted here and more. Kitchen is well stocked, likely by owner as well as previous tenants. All beds were comfortable, neighborhood is quiet and rest was definitely NOT a problem. Garage was generously stocked w/ beach toys that my friends 9 year old enjoyed in the pool and in the sand. Rooms were clean and w/ a couple of easily and quickly resolved concerns, stay was relaxing and carefree. Owners are responsive and helpful. Will definitely need to return as 1 week on Marco is not nearly enough. Thanks Mark and Kathy for sharing your island home :-) ~Penny, Frank and Kim

  My family surprised me with a weekend getaway for my birthday. And when I say my family, I mean 2-legged and 4-legged beings alike. What an incredible weekend it was!! The house was very comfortable - it felt like a home away from home. The game room and pool were awesome. It was my 8-year-old son's first visit to Marco Island and he said that the house was his favorite part (and shelling on South Beach). There is a nice dog park not even a mile from the house. The sunsets on the beach were amazing!! Since it was a surprise, my husband made all the arrangements. He said it was a pleasure dealing with the owner. Thank you Mark for the use of your lovely home. It was a wonderful way to rediscover Marco Island and to make memories of an unforgettable birthday.

  We have been renting houses on Marco Island for 3 years now and we love it. This house was by far the most beautiful and cleanest house we've rented yet. We stayed for 3 weeks this year and loved every day of it. The pool and game room were my kids favorites. The neighbors were even wonderful. I would definitely rent this property again. We were sitting outside by the pool and dolphins were playing in the water..it was amazing!! Thank you Mark!!!

  The house was great. We used the game room almost every night & the pool every day. The boat rental from Marco River Marina was a great treat that everyone should try out here at Marco. Thanks for sharing your home with us!

  We really enjoyed getting away from Vermont weather and staying at your home on Marco Island. The pool and the game room were great. The weather was great!!

  Even though we have been coming to Florida for many years, we have never stayed on Marco Island. We really enjoyed discovering some new places! The pool and game room were great for relaxing. We had a great time!

  We loved our time spent at Marco Island! Very comfortable here. A home away from home. Enjoyed the pool every evening. We also loved fishing from the dock each day. Great weather every day. Thanks for sharing your home!! Hope to return some day.
