Watch dolphins and manatee play in the newly landscaped back yard or while swimming in the new, heated pool. This updated home nestled on a private natural lagoon has all the amenities of home, but with a fantastic view! This is not a man made canal, but a natural lagoon. The sunset, wildlife and mangroves cannot be compared.
There is a king in the master bedroom, queen and bunks in 2nd bedroom with a walk out to the pool. The cathedral ceiling living room has a wall sliding door meaning you have not only a bright and cheery living space, but can open the doors to make it outdoor living. The second living room has a queen pullout couch for additional sleeping. The all new bathrooms and open concept kitchen, with high-end stainless steel appliances, including ice-maker, granite counters and second sink, offer luxury living. There is a bosch washer and dryer as well and a second refrigerator in the garage.
You will enjoy meals at the dinning room table or outside at the back yard table where you can also barbeque on the gas grill. Large fenced yard with pool, palms, dining table and chairs, lawn chairs and out-door shower. For families with young children, there is a kid’s fence around the pool. It can easily be removed if you do not need it.
This is a well-preserved and quiet neighborhood on south end of island with deeded access to fort myers beach at two locations just blocks away. This is the most desirable location on the island with easier access on and off during peak season. Stay here once and you'll never want to go anywhere else. This is not your average rental property.
Bring your boat or just relax on the dock or deck watching the wildlife. If you bring your boat, you are just 5 minutes from the gulf one-way and 5 minutes from the marina the other. Lots of restaurants with boat docking including the fish house or doc fords – our two favorites. You can also rent our pontoon boat for the week.
Fort myers golf club, restaurants, bars, cinema where you can dine and watch, shopping, para-sailing, mini-putt, water park for the kids - everything you might want, can be gotten or gotten to, easily from this amazing waterfront location. There are two bikes in the garage or a 50 cent trolley that will take you anywhere on the island and will run every 8 minutes to 30 minutes depending on the season. Also provided are beach chairs, beach wagon, kayak, umbrella, beach towels, beach cooler, and beach toys.
When you just want to stay in, enjoy high speed internet, netflicks and digital terrestrial television (16 channels). There is are two digital televisions, one in the master and one in the living room. The 2nd bedroom has a tv/vcr and there are lots of movies to choose from.
You can also get fresh seafood from the local fishermen and fish markets for that quiet evening in.
For those who bring their dog, they can go to the beach as long as they are on a leash, or take them to the famous lovers key dog park, just left out of our neighborhood and a few minutes up the road. You can also get there by boat that will make it a great day outing.

We spent two months plus at this prime location on a lagoon at the south end of Ft. Myers Beach. The house was bright, airy accessible and efficient. The view every day was a real dolphin, manatee and waterfowl show and we didn't even have to pay admission! The newly installed pool was solar heated and so convenient being just outside on the patio. A pontoon boat, which we rented from the owners, was just outside at the dock. The yard was fenced down to the water, so our dog could roam outside. And, just ten minutes down the road was a spectacular off-leash dog beach for more energetic outings. Many great restaurants near. Our favorite- Bayfront Bistro at Snook Bight MarinaRecommended for: Age 55+, people with disabilities, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

If you're looking for a friendly family home in a superb location within the Fort Myers Laguna Shores area, with wildlife from your doorstep, literally! then Bev and Roland's home in Laguna Drive is for you. We could not have had a better home to stay in for our week over Christmas 2012. On our arrival night we were greeted by a dolphin in the lagoon and on our last night we watched as manatees played out back in the lagoon. Each day we were visited by a heron that loved having his picture taken! from the pontoon. And most days we took the kayaks out on the lagoon, straight from the back yard. It was great to paddle and watch the world go by on the water, so relaxing. The salt water pool was much nicer that your normal chlorine pool and although we didn't swim, as the weather was changeable, it was lovely to sit around and watch the wildlife go by. All in, a lovely relaxing home to stay in and you'll find a very warm welcome from Bev, who made sure there was enough tea, coffee and food in the fridge and freezer for our late night arrival from the UK. And talking of us tea bags from the UK there is even a kettle now! I thoroughly recommend Bev and Roland's home, if you want a relaxed family home and fantastic location. The only down was having to leave. We hope to be back again! Helen and Stirling and Harold (87years old, who loved it too) xRecommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, people with disabilities, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, sightseeing.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2012
About the owner: As Canadians who have braved too many winters already, we purchased just this year and hope to retire in this, our Florida paradise. Until we are able, we are making it available for rent. We hope that you come to love our home as much as we do.
Why the Owner Chose Laguna Shores:
We had been looking for a home for over a year working with a very patient agent. Having seen hundreds of homes, we knew this one was ours the moment we walked in because it was not just another canal home, but on a natural lagoon that is as large bay with mangroves on the other side.
We went out to the dock and saw a dolphin playing around, then a manatee! We knew this was it. My husband is a builder and we are making this our dream retirement home. So far we have put in a pool, landscaped, completely renovated the two bathrooms and kitchen. It is an open concept kitchen. We upgraded the furnishings, cleaned from top to bottom and fixed anything that needed fixing. We love this home and we cannot wait until we are able to retire. The other great thing about it was that it was located in the south end of the beach.
This means in peak season, we can easily get on and off the island and do not have to engage in the craziness at the north end of the beach. (When we were there in March we stayed in the north end and it took us two hours just to get on or off the beach) We can easily take the trolly there if we want or we can enjoy the quieter beach and traffic at the south end.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
Walking distance to the beach with deeded access means you have easy access. We also provide everything you might need like beach chairs, umbrella and cooler. But when you get to our back yard, don't be surprised if you find yourself settling in there.
